Fantastic product let down by appalling customer service
I ordered a full bathroom suite from Victoria Plumb and have to say that from beginning to end the process was easy and efficient, until I ran across a problem. I had received a broken pedestal, which when contacting customer service, I was quickly offered a replacement, with next day delivery. All good so far, but then I found I had inadvertently ordered a bath/screen package which had a 'fixed' screen, ie it was not hinged (I didn't even know screens were ever 'fixed').
I contacted customer services and after much discussion the correct product was identified (this was less than 2 hours after my first call) I had my card ready to pay (£89.99) but was then hit with a £34.99 delivery charge. This was being delivered on the same van as the broken pedestal, and at the same time. Suffice to say I was not happy with this, and after consulting with a team leader, I was advised I had to pay delivery or I could purchase 'hinges' elsewhere, although that would negate my 25 year guarantee! I could email a complaint. Which I did, I got a reply the next day, actually offering free delivery, but now for 4 days time!The plumber had had to return to fit the replacement pedestal and basin, so I could actually wash, so I now would incur costs. I respectfully requested a small discount (£65 instead of £89.99 which is what the additional cost for correct screen would have been if ordered initially, a discount of £24.99).
I have had 11 emails in reply daily since then, in reply to my replies, all stating no discount, seek advice from trading standards, 10 emails from different advisors. Some have agreed that the delivery charges were dropped as it does not state 'fixed screen' (it does now!) some have been quite rude, some have gone into depth explaining their legal position......Not one answering my query if I could just purchase the hinge pack from them or their suppliers, not one acknowledging that if they had given free delivery on the day of order-remember they were coming here anyway and it was the same van, then I wouldn't incur additional costs.......
So after 10 days battle, I am no further forward, I have bath/shower I cannot use as I cannot get in with the screen fixed in place,I have mobility issues, a knee that doesn't bend.........
So, disappointingly, I have to leave a negative review.... great unless something goes wrong!
**** Within 24 hours of this review I received a telephone call offering me the screen at £65, with free delivery, which I have gratefully accepted! I have amended the review and the star rating but honestly had to say had a lot of 'friction' as that is the truth. It is such a shame this company that excelled in every other way fell so short when a problem arose. But thank you for now putting it right****
