Avoid the Ayr store !

I went into store to collect my item. Staff member called over another staff member. She arrived visibly annoyed and shouted something about not having a scanner as she stomped off. She returned, I said hello and she didn’t greet me or acknowledge me. Was shouting over at another member off stage as she thrust the machine in front of me. She scanned it. Continued talking to the other member off staff. She said something about leaving it open in case she needs it again. I genuinely thought she was talking to the other member off staff staff. Turns out she was talking to me and she snapped at me “this is why I told you to leave your phone out” , I was open mouthed with how rude she was to me. I couldn’t have been nicer when I first approached the desk. I apologise if my presence in the store was a huge inconvenience to you and your staff. I won’t be back! Also tried to ring to resolve but the phone just rings out and Kilmarnock store point blank refused to assist me. Your live chat is just bots. No one replying to me on your WhatsApp so I give up. So no choice but to vent on here.

Day 5 of trying to return faulty ear…

Day 5 of trying to return faulty ear plugs. Seemingly this company cannot issue return labels because it’s always another departments job. It’s obviously a really complex ask to send a return label to a customer who has spent over £50 on two broken bits of plastic. Do you want my 13 year old child to come and help you ? Avoid this company everyone ! Totally uninterested once they have your money. Impossible to return faulty items and they just pass you about on the phone, by email and by live chat. I’ll keep posting on their socials until I get my £50 back

Bought the loop dream earplugs

Bought the loop dream earplugs. When changing the tip to try another size, the tip became separate from the foam. Spent hours on live chat trying to resolve. Finally managed to get the order to be returned online - and they say there is an issue and to contact customer service. I went back on live chat and another hour wasted, just to be told “they will be in touch” hmmm. Avoid ! I’m £50 down for two tiny ear plugs that are faulty

Arnold Clark told me a needed a new…

Arnold Clark told me a needed a new engine for £5500, just a week after passing its MOT and taking £1400 off me for a service.
Citroen refused to help at the start. Then after many many phone calls and emails they agreed to pay half. I had to transport my car from Scotland to Carlisle England at my own cost because Arnold Clark refused to fix it because I had lodged a complaint and no other non Arnold Clark Citroen garages in Scotland. No new engine needed. Just spark plugs and wet belt. Spark plugs were overdue before I even bought it. Arnold Clark told me in writing it wasn’t the wet belt !
Despite the awful treatment by Arnold Clark, Citroen could not have cared less and literally did nothing to help me. Even though the Citroen aircross is known for wet belt issues, oil problems etc. there was even a recall. I now drive a Toyota and it’s a great feeling to drive a reliable well made car. I would rather peel off my own skin than drive a Citroen again in my life time. Horrible car. Literally the worst car I’ve ever driven and I owned a fiat multipla at one point in my life !! Avoid Citroen and Arnold Clark and you will thank me one day !!

Shoe storage arrived with a damaged…

Shoe storage arrived with a damaged top. This was replaced. However the screws sent to connect the shoe drawers simply do not fit and are far too short. Instead of resolving this for me by sending the correct screws, they are just telling me to return it ! I will not be dismantling for collection. The unit has sat built in my lounge for weeks now. Just waiting on correct screws to connect th drawers but this simple resolution isn’t an option for b&q and they want the whole thing returned. So come and get it. I won’t be wasting another moment on this unit. I’ve spent over £500 in past month with your company. I won’t be spending another penny in your store after this. Shocking service and common sense has failed to kick in with your staff !!!

Terrible customer service

I opened my shoe storage and discovered there were grubby finger marks on some of the white parts and then the main top piece had two large scratches on it.
I requested for it to be picked up and a replacement sent out.
Unfortunately OakWorld would only send me a replacement part. I explained that I didn’t have faith in this one because what if parts are missing as I try to build it, or I discover more faults ? But no, they wouldn’t replace the faulty one with a new one. So I am returning it and getting a refund and I will buy it somewhere else. This is my first order with you and it will be the last.

Gift card bought for my daughter

Gift card bought for my daughter.
Gift card scratched and numbers from PIN code missing.
Emailed the gift card team. They told me to go into store to sort out. Explained my daughter is disabled and that’s why I bought it online.
Gift card team then told me they don’t deal with gift cards ???
Fobbed me off to another department. Promised they would send a new one. That was a lie. Nothing came in the post. Rang back and was told that wasn’t happening.
They want me to drive to a boots store (about half an hour away), get a new gift card, drive home, ring up and explain everything again and then they will credit the gift card.
What a hassle !! Never again!! I placed over £100 order to keep my daughter happy. Paid with my own money.
Gift card is faulty and cannot be used. Keep my money Boots! Thank you !! Never again. What a hassle for a very simple situation !!

I’ve been a customer for over two…

I’ve been a customer for over two years. Pay by direct debit monthly. British Gas randomly emailed me to welcome me to my new home, then emailed me a final bill, then emailed to say my direct debit was cancelled then another to say it’s been reinstated.
I checked my account online and my inactive account was £400 in debit and my new account was £2500 in credit. No one on live chat or on the phone could explain. They tried to fix it and then my debit balance was £800 on inactive account and new account was £2900 in credit. This morning I was told another supplier randomly wanted to supply my energy so this is what created the problem ??? I was not consulted at any point and I didn’t consent to any changes to my account. This is called an erroneous transfer and it is illegal !!!

Hi Lydia, when another company takes over your energy supply without permission, it is indeed called an erroneous transfer. Once we are notified that the supply has been taken incorrectly, we'll put the situation right by opening a new account and backdating it, so that there isn't a gap in the supply period. This does cause some disruption for the customer. I do apologise for the upset and confusion caused. Persimmon treat social housing…

Persimmon treat social housing customers differently to private owned customers. Social housing people are not entitled to the structure and safety of numbered car parking spaces according to persimmon! It’s also ok to to dig out the area of my back gate, block it off all day, without any consultation or notice, and install a monstrosity of a raised planter bed with high kerbs around it. And leave it like a mud pit for months. Meaning we have to walk along balancing beam of a high kerbs around just to access my car. I have a disabled child and he has fell so many times. Persimmon don’t care. All they did was come back and add bushes months later. Meaning I have to push the bushes out the way while walking along a balancing beam! Persimmon aren’t interested in my situation. They hide behind council plans and drawings. Yes it may look ok on the plans but in real life it causes me and my family daily stress and upset !!

I wasn’t even in your Manchester store…

I wasn’t even in your Manchester store to buy make up. I was browsing when a member of staff approached me and we struck up a conversation. Next thing I know she is giving me advice on what products would work for me and she even colour matched my skin perfectly. Wow. What a difference wearing the right shade makes! I left with products I never would have bought and I now have the confidence to use them, thanks to Liv R. She’s a credit to your business. She was friendly, knowledgeable, honest and not pushy at all. I will be sending my friends to see LIv R. Thank you for such an unexpected positive experience !

Good value and the only food that agrees with my dog (and I’ve tried them all) and he absolutely loves it. He always eats it all up, and sometimes cries for more! He’s a strong healthy 4 year old boxer, Thank you butchers :)

No customer service when there’s a problem and don’t treat customers fairly …

Reported an oil pressure warning light when taking my car in for its second service. Arnold Clark ignored the warning light and went ahead with the service. Charged me £1400 and told me to bring it back in for oil problem.
I’ve since found out that it’s a known problem with my car type. It’s shocking it wasn’t investigated immediately. They never should have completed the service work without checking this first
They passed the mot and then a week later tell me I need a new engine for £5400!! I’ve only had the car for 18 months. Stuck in a finance agreement paying £228 a month and can’t use the car because the engine has failed due to the oil problems. Never changed or checked the dreaded wet belt in two services either - something I wasn’t even aware of until this all happened. But Arnold Clark say this is my fault too because I should have told them to check it ?! Citroen have offered to pay half of the engine cost. But Arnold Clark don’t want to know and all they seem to do is make excuses and try and blame it on me. I was a long standing customer of Arnold Clark. They have treated me terribly ! Their receptionist told me to “get my husband to buy me a new car”. Disgusting company and I regret the day I walked into the Kilmarnock branch.

*** I have had contact with your “customer service “ and your head office , just excuse after excuse and refuse to do a single thing to help me. Any new customers should be aware that once you have their hard earned money - you aren’t interested. There’s a reason there are Facebook groups called “avoid Arnold Clark”, hundreds and thousands of people who have had the “Arnold Clark experience”, and feel the same as me !!!

Bunch of crooks !

I’m a returning customer to Arnold Clark.
Bought my second car along with a service plan. After 18 months I got an oil pressure warning. I took it to them for its second service and told them about the oil pressure issue. They ignored that. Completed £1400 worth of repairs and service and passed the mot. They told me I would need to bring it back for the oil issue. Then they tell me I need a new engine for £5400!! They failed to service or change or advise the wet belt in both services. They now tell me that I should have asked them. I didn’t even know what a wet belt was until all this happened! Refused to help me. Left paying £228 a month for a car I can’t drive. Can’t hand it back cos on finance, have about £8000 outstanding. Terrible !!! Horrible company with zero customer service once they have your money !!

** the case isn’t closed, Arnold Clark have refused to help me so I’m having to escalate it through motor ombudsman which means it will take months maybe years to resolve. All the while, I have a car that I can’t use but paying £228 a month for. Their response to this review shows the world how bad they are and why no one should use them. Absolutely shocking !!

Avoid Limegreen at all costs !

I rented a house from Limegreen for about three years. During this time, the property developed a leaking roof which caused damp and mould to cover my bedroom ceiling and wall. The upstairs windows were draughty to the point where the blinds would move when it was windy. The front door had a hole in it (landlord fixed with a bit of bathroom sponge !!), the kitchen ceiling would leak water when it rained and water would run down the wall. Limegreen refused to help me and told me after about a year that they were collections only. The owner also advised me that the landlord was a “good customer of theirs and had multiple properties with them” so he refused to help me. Limegreen and my landlord knew my daughter has asthma. Even with the heating on, the house was always cold, stank of damp and impossible to heat. We had electric blankets on our beds, and slept with electric throws on the beds. After years of politely asking for the issues to be fixed, I contacted environmental health. They declared the house was below tolerable standards. Limegreens response to this was to try and increase my rent during the rent freeze. Then when I refused to pay more until issues were fixed, they issued me with an eviction notice a few weeks before Christmas (during an eviction ban), claiming the landlord had financial issues which I saw no proof of, only a handwritten statement. Limegreen treated me so badly which always confused me because I was a good tenant and paid my rent on time every month. The owner rang me to scream and shout down the phone at me when I copied my local councillor in on an email to him when I was listing the issues and asking yet again for them to be put right. Horrible man he is. Knowingly let me and my children live in those conditions and happily took rent off me each month. Avoid at all costs. A terrible business with no morals.
