Arnold Clark told me a needed a newâŠ
Arnold Clark told me a needed a new engine for £5500, just a week after passing its MOT and taking £1400 off me for a service.
Citroen refused to help at the start. Then after many many phone calls and emails they agreed to pay half. I had to transport my car from Scotland to Carlisle England at my own cost because Arnold Clark refused to fix it because I had lodged a complaint and no other non Arnold Clark Citroen garages in Scotland. No new engine needed. Just spark plugs and wet belt. Spark plugs were overdue before I even bought it. Arnold Clark told me in writing it wasnât the wet belt !
Despite the awful treatment by Arnold Clark, Citroen could not have cared less and literally did nothing to help me. Even though the Citroen aircross is known for wet belt issues, oil problems etc. there was even a recall. I now drive a Toyota and itâs a great feeling to drive a reliable well made car. I would rather peel off my own skin than drive a Citroen again in my life time. Horrible car. Literally the worst car Iâve ever driven and I owned a fiat multipla at one point in my life !! Avoid Citroen and Arnold Clark and you will thank me one day !!

If I could give you zero stars I would. I reported a 2nd payment being taken from my account on the 3rd of February. I even sent you bank statements to prove this was the case - yet I am still waiting for an update and I am still waiting for a refund. This just isn't good enough. You were quick to take my money but awful to pay back to me what is mine. Terrible service for such a big company!!!!

In November last year, I received an urgent recall letter warning that a camshaft chain fault could lead to engine failure. I wrote to Citroen straight away asking them to reimburse me for the cost of my new engine and failed to get a reply or even an acknowledgement. Appalling customer service.
Horrendous company to deal with
Horrendous company to deal with. My c3 developed a reversing camera fault . Car is only 2 years old, still under warranty and servced at citroen dealer( wont be returning) Despite proving via photographic evidence they refused to admit the car was faulty... NEVER BUY A CITROEN unless you want hassle and to be treated with disrespect. AWFUL COMPANY WHOM ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS DUE TO CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE.

If I could give 0 I would. I have a DS3 and got air bag fixed last year, DVSA is still saying there is an outstanding recall. I have been emailing and phoning over a week and they are not taking ownership. The lady I spoke to this morning would not let me talk, would not provide complaints and hung up on me, absolute disgrace.

In most circumstances you get what you pay for. I bought a used Citroen C4 2021 plate and the ECU has gone - vehicle barely works and doesnt accelerate - a very pricey repair.
I used one of Citroens recommended repair garages (EMG Croydon) who completely misdiagnosed my vehcile - spent loads of money and time on the repair only to hear back from Citroen there is nothing they can do. Even though they sent me a feedback form asking how their registered partner garage did.
There is no chain of accountability - Citroen do not have a process to follow up with an approved garage, so why have an approved garage in the first place. Then on top of thay the approved garage also doesnt have a regulator i.e. RMIF or Motor Ombudsman - so there is nobody to hold them accountable either.
More than poor from all fronts. Poor car, poor service, no line of accountability.

Wouldn't allow me to explain my problem..was very very dismissive...asked me for my details in a very dismissive manner and immediately tried to refer me to a dealer!

He now has all my details and when I pressed him on the reasons for all my information being taken only to refer me to a dealer..he hung up on me!!!

I am absolutely outraged with the fact that I have had this electric vehicle for only 4 Months, and twice it has broken down, and each time I have been told they cannot issue me with a courtesy car due to a small fleet. It is absolutely disgusting what I have been through especially as I suffer from Mental Health. I had to wait for over an hour in a freezing car before RAC turned up. Never will I use Citroen again and nobody else should either ð¡ð¡ð¡

It was a long time until I realised that the car was not fitted with windscreen wash jets as the weather was generally dry.
I initially emailed them a couple of times
They replied saying when is the best time to ring you.
I answered
They never called.
Two months and at least 10 phone calls later I am no further
Every time they say they will get my handler to contact me.....they don't
4 days ago a guy called Thomas said he'd refer it to his manager.
I rang today and a lady answered she said hold the line
It just went dead after 9 minutes
I rang back and an Easter European guy answered I could barely understand him.
He said hold the line.
A minute later he muttered unintelligibly and hung up.
For crying out loud all I want are two plastic water jets

Absolutely appalling experience dealing with a factory recall. The authorised dealership canât book my vehicle in for two months, leaving me without a car for an issue that is not my fault.
I raised a case on 22nd December and received no update. After multiple failed attempts, I finally reached customer service via live chat on 2nd January, where I clearly explained Iâm at work during the day and need updates by email. Despite this, I received a phone call during working hours that I couldnât answer.
When I tried live chat again later that day, I was ignored for over 20 minutes until the service closed at 6pm. Overall communication has been non-existent and support has been extremely poor. GVANTSA was particularly unhelpful.
This is a manufacturer recall and yet Iâm left without a car and no clear resolution. Completely unacceptable customer service.

I have never dealt with an organisation that has such appalling customer service. Despite repeated attempts calling to resolve a long standing issue from September I was constantly fobbed off. Unbelievable that a company of this size cannot put you through to an individual human being who can actually tell you what is going on. By far the worst company I have had the misfortune to need help from a customer service team! If I could score zero I would.

Just bought a Citroen eC3, have had 1 month and already been back to dealership several times. Alarm goes off weekly for no apparent reason, car cuts out whilst driving and now only starts when it feels like it. Have been told the computer forgets what gear it is in and needs a software update. The MyCitroen app is dreadful and impossible to use and support from Citroen is non existent. Citroen software is awful and does not work properly, there own surveys have glitches so cannot be returned.
Don't buy a new Citroen at the moment....
Our 2024 3000 mile Spacetourer WAV wheelchair vehicle broke down and was recovered to home. It's our sole transport. Should be easy to get sorted under warranty we thought. Not so, all my local dealers couldn't even look at it for 2 months and didn't even want it on their premises due to the ongoing recalls. Asked Citroen UK for support, information taken and case number issued and then...nothing. That was months ago and we've heard nothing. So until the recalls are resolved don't consider buying a Citroen as if it breaks, you're on your own. Shame because the car is great when it's working, hence the 2 stars.
Great Cars, Poor Backup
Reading all these reviews one thing stands out : Citroen UK management and staff are so incompetent that I fear they must have been recruited and placed by a competitor. As far as my own experience is concerned I have had 3 Citroens and found then all great cars - and reliable. My present C5X plug in hybrid is simply wonderful. The comfort of a limo, the carrying capacity of an estate, the speed of a grand tourer, and an absolute joy to own and drive. But guess what? Citroen axed this model - their best car- from the UK last year! (If you want one you buy one in France). As far as service goes the marque is also let down by its dealer network. I have however found Telfords of Carlisle above average, being a long established single marque dealer. Hope this helps to balance the record.
