Incorrectly charged and customer service unable to help
I am writing to formally complain regarding both incorrect billing on my account and the poor customer service I have received while trying to resolve the issue.
I currently have a two-year fixed contract with you. The agreed pricing was:
* Year 1: £17.99 per month
* Year 2 (from September 2026): £22.99 per month
However, my latest bill for May 2026 is £20.99, and my account is currently showing that next month’s bill will increase further to £25.99. These charges do not match the contract I agreed to.
I called your customer service team on Monday 24th May to resolve this. Unfortunately, I was on hold for approximately 40 minutes and spent around 1 hour and 30 minutes on the phone in total. The agent I spoke to was unable to resolve the issue and incredibly unhelpful simply repeating the issue back to me.
During the call, I was informed that:
* The agent would speak to their team leader and review the original phone call from when I created the account
* I would receive an email summarising the call and outlining the next steps being taken to resolve the issue
* A manager/team leader would review my case and contact me on Tuesday with an update
None of these actions have happened. I never received the promised email, and nobody contacted me on Tuesday as stated.
I then submitted a complained via the website to follow this issue up, this has not been responded to.
As a result, I am now following this up again with a review as it appears this is monitored better.
I do not feel this issue is being treated with the urgency or seriousness it requires.
I also do not have the time to spend another 1 hour and 30 minutes on the phone and on hold simply to chase an update on a problem that should already be under investigation.

Signing up and installation went smoothly, 1gb fibre started well, after a few weeks the connection kept dropping out repeatedly every day, this was using one computer and watching one tv. Very unreliable service, this happened everyday after multiple calls to complain nothing was done. The company even lied about an engineer coming out, after taking a day off they didn't turn up, I called to ask why and they lied and said they sent an email saying it had been cancelled, I then received an email after the phone call.
It took me 1 hour to cancel my service as the guy I spoke to would not accept I wanted to cancel.
After cancelling my direct debit I received and email saying I owed £172.18 and they somehow withdrew this from my bank.
Please avoid this company.

Absolutely terrible service from 4thUtility. My internet has not worked for 3 weeks and nobody seems to care at all.
I have spoken to technical support 4 different times, and every single time I was told that a replacement power cable for my router had been posted out to me. Every time this turned out to be false. I still have no cable, no internet, and no real help or communication.
The most frustrating part is the constant lying and lack of accountability. Instead of fixing the issue, they just keep giving empty promises to get rid of you on the phone.
At this point I honestly don’t know what to do anymore because nobody at 4thUtility seems interested in solving the problem. Avoid if you expect reliable service or customer support.

Mike Harrison made the "switch" to 4th Utility straightforward and easy to understand the pricing etc.
Especially good as having trouble with the OTS and he explained what to do in terms I could follow.
Much appreciated having someone who helped in a friendly efficient way and not just "push" an agenda.
