Acciona's claim that 'we invest in the planet' is complete GREENWASHING! How can you call yourselves a green energy supplier and then build an incinerator in one of the poorest parts of the UK, spewing out fine particulates? Pull out now from building the new incinerator in Edmonton. We don't want you!!!

How can you call yourselves a green energy supplier and then build an incinerator? Put our planet and the health of its people first.

Why is this company planning to build an enormous incinerator? That's the plan for Edmonton. It will wreck the polluted air that Edmonton residents and beyond are breathing, undermining the IPCC report and the Code Red warning for humanity.

Acciona are bidding for the Edmonton incinerator- a environmental catastafy of a project which will lock north london council into massive amounts of waste production for 10s of years which is in dirrect opposition to the achievement of net zero.

Furthermore evidence is mounting about the high carbon and heavy particulate emissions of modern incinerators. Which is significantly higher than quoted in the business plan- and comparable to burning cool- this must be stopped

This company wants to build a new incinerator in Edmonton near where I live. An incinerator which will pollute the air my children breathe. This is exploitative of the citizens of London and not in anyway in keeping with the climate crisis.

If you are really addressing the climate crisis and championing renewables why are you investing in the Edmonton Incinerator?

Acciona's claim 'we invest in the planet' is total GREENWASHING. They are currently planning to build a waste incinerator in Edmonton, North London, one of the poorest neighbourhoods in the country. Even the latest filtration technology can't capture ultra-fine particulate matter that is the most harmful to human health. Deeply disappointed in Acciona bidding for this type of planet destroying construction.

Irresponsible and amoral. ACCIONA are looking to expand the Edmonton EcoPark (read: incinerator) which will see yet another 50 years of unsorted waste be burnt in one of the poorest, most coloured populations in the UK. The area has suffered disproportionately with Covid-19, with one of the highest death rates in the country. The people of North London do not need to pay to breathe in any more of their own waste.

Acciona are planning to insure a polluting edmonton incinerator that will burn millions of tons of rubbish, sending carbon emissions into the air. They're green washers, don't trust them

Supposedly a company that are 'leaders in sustainability' and yet are planning on going ahead with building an incinerator in Edmonton. Reckless and selfish behaviour, especially in light of the latest IPCC report and the Code Red warning for humanity.

Terrible. This company claim to provide Grern Energy, but they are investing in a huge incredibly polluting waste incinerator. In Edmonton.

Claim to be 'green' but want to build an incinerator in Edmonton!!

Acciona pretends it is a 'green energy supplier' but in reality, it would much rather chase the money than promote sustainability and fight the climate crisis. It is currently the only bidder to construct one of Europe's largest incinerators in one of the poorest communities in the UK, Edmonton in Enfield. This incinerator will release about 700k tonnes of GHGs every year, possibly until 2075, hamper waste prevention and recycling and pollute the air of a majority minority community. We will not stand for this.

It's great that ACCIONA promotes emission reduction targets and is working to reduce greenhouse gases by avoiding the use of external fossil-based energy, prioritising resource reduction, and using renewable and recycled materials with a view to ‘giving new life to waste’. These goals are vital to slowing climate and
ecological system breakdown.
However, ACCIONA’s active bid to build an incinerator in North London runs completely against these goals. The project undercuts ‘sustainable regeneration’, since incinerators permanently destroy materials, releasing greenhouse gases and toxic emissions into the atmosphere, and perpetuating the extraction and use of
virgin materials. The expansion of incineration in the UK would lead to a tripling of CO2 emissions from incineration. The Edmonton incinerator, if built, would account for a significant proportion of these emissions. And more and more scientific evidence links long-term exposure to air pollution with a greater risk of serious medical conditions and premature death, including from infectious diseases. The list of arguments goes on. Do the right ACCIONA, pull out of building this incinerator NOW!
