With a prescription of -8.75 and complete frustration with opticians who could never give me acceptable near and far vision, I consulted Mr Anderson. He exudes professional knowledge and ability, together with friendly and approachable calmness and humour. I had the choice of waiting until my cataracts became really bad and go with the NHS, or have my vision dramatically improved and cataracts permanently removed by a top eye surgeon. I opted for complete sedation, due to feeling very anxious. One minute we were laughing, the next, I was being told I was back in my room. Every day after the operation my sight grew clearer and sharper, each time being a surprise that there was more definition. I had bought loads of painkillers in preparation. I took none. I had two follow up appointments to check all was well and am so grateful for those, for reassurance and to be able to thank Mr Anderson for this freedom from lenses and thick glasses. I do not need glasses for any purpose. His team - Olivia and Kim to mention two, are amazing, so helpful, reassuring and always ready to listen.

Had Cataract surgery to both eyes on the same day. David was amazing along with the whole team from start to finish. It was a painless procedure with amazing outcome. Thank you David for my new vision.

My experience at David Anderson’s clinic at the Nuffield Wessex was amazing, and I felt incredibly well looked after from day one. David’s manner and confidence turned me from being extremely anxious to a completely relaxed patient who felt utterly at ease when I arrived for my bilateral cataract surgery. Despite being a complex case David reassured me that the procedure would go well and that it was the correct thing to do to improve my sight. The procedure itself was extremely comfortable, painless and quick, and David kept me informed all the way through whilst operating to the highest of standards.

Earlier this month I had YAG laser surgery performed by David Anderson on both my eyes. It has been remarkably successful. I had a problem with misty eyes after cataract surgery the previous year. Now everything appears remarkably clear. I had not expected such an amazing improvement as I am in my nineties. I am now back to reading and sewing and feel confident enough to cross the road again.

I decided to have lens replacement through David Anderson Eye Care after much deliberation. The main reasons being not wanting to wear glasses anymore.
I was at the stage where I was reluctant to pay year on year for prescription glasses, and was trying to manage with off the shelf reading glasses, but knew I was on a losing battle as computer work was becoming more blurred, I couldn’t see a thing on my phone, or read books, but because I didn’t need glasses for distance, I was constantly taking them on and off.
One of my hobbies is long distance walking and map reading was a real pain with glasses.
Mr Anderson talked me through the whole process with information I understood, and whilst not an easy decision to make, it was one I was determined to do.
6 weeks after the op, I am delighted to say that I completed a 5 day trek on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, minus glasses.
If you are considering this type of surgery, I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Anderson.

Literally life changing! I do a lot of active sports like sailing and mountain biking. After 25 years of contact lenses or glasses my vision is now perfect and so clear compared to before even when wearing my glasses or lenses. Mr Anderson was awesome, fully understood what we were trying to achieve, mission accomplished! In my case a double refractive lens exchange as early cataracts were forming, the whole thing went really smoothly, thank you!

I've had terrible eyesight my entire life and a really high prescription of +6.5. I'd been turned down by a high street chain as my prescription was too complex but Mr Anderson assured me that they regularly encounter prescriptions like mine. Throughout the entire process he put me at ease, explained what would happen during the Lasik procedure in great detail, and answered every question I had. Surgery went well, and I can honestly say no longer needing glasses or contacts is life changing. I'm so pleased, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr Anderson and his team. They have been fantastic!

So happy i got this surgery, it was so quick, easy, and painless. My eyes were just feeling tired and a bit scratchy afterwards but eyedrops soothes it straightaway, and in less than 24 hours i had 20/20 vision, amazing! I visited Anderson eye care at the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital in Chandler's Ford for my free consultation to assess my suitablity for lense replacement or laser surgery to perfect my eyesight. l am in my early 60's and fed-up taking my glasses on and off throughout the day depending on what i need them for. Having met David Anderson the Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon I quickly realized he was the only man for the job. His pleasant manner, calm demeanour, confidence in what he does, knowledge and expertise were faultless and made the decision very easy for me. I really liked that not only does he perform the surgery but see's you for all consultations and follow-up after care appointments. David suggested I have Bilateral Lasik PRESBYOND laser blended vision correction. He explained this to me very well and in a nutshell would mean I would see clearly for reading and also for distance too once my brain had adjusted to this. His website is also well worth reading for detailed information for what to expect for all options. So I was a little apprehensive day of surgery but needn't have been. David and his team were amazing and informative thoughout. Nothing was painful and I was back in my room within 40mins. So I am 2 months in with my new vision and the results are beyond my expectations. It really does feel like a miracle and worth every single penny. I highly recommend Anderson eye clinic. I had been to a few eye clinics and was told I was unsuitable for lasik. A colleague recommended Andersons and I thought I'd give it one last try and I am so glad I did. At my appointment Mr Anderson went through all my options with me and explained me through all the steps of the procedure.

On the day of the surgery I was very anxious and all the nurses were so supportive and held my hand. The surgery was pain free and done within 20 minutes. The only advice I would give is when they suggest you go to sleep as soon as possible, do it. I didn't get back to our hotel for over an hour, due to traffic and the uncomfortableness began. Once I had woken up from my nap, I could instantly see everything so clearly and the uncomfortable feeling had gone. I was able to read my book the same evening with no problems.

I am still amazed that my vision is so clear and it gets better each day. I had such a high prescription and was always told I would never be able to have this surgery.

If you're ever in doubt about laser eye surgery, I can honestly say I am so glad I went through with it.

I thoroughly recommend Mr Anderson and his team, if I could give 10 stars I would. He explained everything throughout the procedures. I had bilateral lens replacement almost 3 years ago which was absolutely amazing. For the last few months though, I started noticing my vision was blurry, after a visit to my optician, she explained I had posterior capsule opacification (PCO) I contacted Mr Andersons team who booked me in straight away for YAG laser treatment. It was totally painless and only took a few minutes. The result were almost immediate. By time I got home my vision was perfect. So once again, I would like to thank Mr Anderson and his team. 🙂

A few years ago I found my vision was starting to become a bit blurry. After a visit to my optician I was informed that this was due to cataracts. As I was still able to drive I decided not to do anything further, however more recently I found my sight was starting to get worse. After a visit back to my new optician, Mr Anderson was recommended to me for further consultation. As I live in the Channel Islands I was also interested in the fact that Mr Anderson was able to perform cataract surgery on both eyes during one visit to the Nuffield Wessex Hospital in Eastleigh. Mr Anderson’s warm, friendly and proficient approach during my initial consultation assured me to go ahead with the procedure. My whole experience of the staff professionalism at both the Nuffield Wessex Hospital, Anderson Eye Care and Mr Anderson himself has been second to none. I can now see clearly and with a clarity that I hadn’t thought possible again.

I can heartily recommend Mr David Anderson, his team and the staff at Nuffield Chandlers Ford. David combines tremendous knowledge and skill with real warmth and approachability. I had been concerned that my previous laser treatment for myopia (20 years ago) and my unusually long eyeballs (!) would make cataract surgery challenging but David assured me of a good outcome. After two quick and painless procedures my eyesight is now perfect. The results are truly extraordinary. After walking about 'in a fog' for far too long, the world is bright, sharp and colourful again. I had corneal cross linking done and my vision has actually improved. I only wish I could have had it done sooner so more of my vision was saved.

This was the best decision I have ever made. I didn’t think I would be a suitable candidate for lazer eye surgery due to my prescription and my stigmatism, however after the tests I found out I was. I then meet Mr Anderson and decided to go ahead with the Smile procedure which was in Southampton and I live in Jersey. It was easy to get flights and a hotel close by and not too expensive. The procedure was not painful and after a short nap I could start to do things again without glasses. It was a short healing process and I love waking up and being able to see.
