I have had an amazing experience having laser eye surgery with Anderson eye care!
The first consultation was very thorough, with multiple eye scans and tests to enable Mr Anderson to give an accurate and personalised recommendation about what type of laser eye surgery I would be most suitable for.
I was recommended to have SMILE surgery to both eyes (I had a high myopia around - 7.00 and have worn glasses since school age).
We discussed the procedure and what it will feel like at each stage. I felt completely confident in Mr Anderson's care and it's clear he has a huge amount of experience.
It was only a few weeks to wait from deciding to go ahead with the procedure and being booked in to have it done.
On the day of the surgery everyone was very warm and welcoming, helping to ease my anxieties. The actual procedure was so straightforward (for me as the patient at least!) and completely painless. I was home very shortly afterwards with my eye drop regime to start. There were a lot of drops to start with but you very quickly get used to popping them in.
Within days my vision was already so much better, glare from bright lights started to settle and I felt very minimal irritation to my eyes.
Since then it has just got better and better. My vision is pretty much perfect, I have no dry eye symptoms despite working long shifts in front of computer screens, and I still forget that I don't have my contact lenses in and that this is my actual vision now!
The cost was very reasonable, all upfront with no hidden extras, finance available from the hospital if needed.
It was a really good experience from all staff involved, but was exceptionally nice to see Mr Anderson himself for every appointment both pre and post procedure - something which is very rare to find elsewhere but really does give you the confidence and reassurance in him as a surgeon!
Thank you to all involved. I only wish I had done this years ago as it has been truly life changing for someone with vision as poor as mine was!

Fantastic from start to finish!
Keratoconus in my left had been an issue for some years. Glasses helped but could not prevent the blurred vision I experienced at all distances. The only other option I had was to wear a hard contact lens but it was uncomfortable and would frequently move around on the surface. I went for a consultation with Mr Anderson and was happy to learn that there was another option for my condition, intracorneal ring segments! I went with Mr Anderson's recommendation and went ahead with the procedure. Virtually no discomfort and it's all over before you have even had time to think about it. It took a few weeks to settle out (completely normal) and now I have my new prescription. What an improvement! If you suffer from keretoconus, consider this type of treatment. It must be one of the best solutions available today.

I was diagnosed with astigmatism around the age of 18 and it had been gradually worsening over the years. By the time I sought treatment I was struggling to read even the top line of an eye chart without glasses and increasingly needed them for work, driving and daily life. Concerned it would only get worse I researched options online and came across numerous positive reviews for Anderson Eye Care. Deciding to go with them was absolutely the right choice.

Three months after my SMILE surgery my vision is better than 20/20. Both my astigmatism and shortsightedness are now negligible. The surgery itself was seamless, recovery was comfortable and virtually painless and my only ongoing routine is the use of moisturising eye drops which I plan to phase out in the next few months.

The entire team from reception to post-op care were friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout. If you are considering eye surgery and want professional, affordable and genuinely caring service, David Anderson and his team are an excellent choice.

Dr. Anderson is a friendly and positive consultant who immediately put me at ease from the first consultation, surgery day and the subsequent follow ups.
The surgery restored my sight brilliantly and it was a -8.5 which I had lived with for over 20 years. I had instant results and no side effects, using the drops afterwards and following the after care plan was very easy. Having become more and more reliant on glasses over time and never really liking how I looked in them I decided to look into other options and lens replacement seemed the way to go for me.
Right from the beginning I felt I was in safe hands with David Anderson and his team. He talked me through all my options and I decided to go for trifocal lens replacement. I had extreme axial myopia (-12+) since birth, along with astigmatism, and then cataracts further degraded my sight. I was referred Mr David Anderson, who recommended IQ lens implants. Exceptional expertise with Mr Anderson at the Nuffield Wessex Hospital ,he is highly experienced in cataract surgery which I needed as I have very severe myopia -15 and have had to wear glasses for 70 years, which he explained was because my eyes were 28mm wide instead of 23 mm . I was really nervous prior to the operation, however, there was no need. Had both eyes done on the same day. Absolutely painless and I felt relaxed throughout. Better than the dentist!

Excellent care, kindness and the best treatment. After wearing glasses for shortsightedness during the last 40 years, the results are amazing. I had bilateral lens replacement due to cataracts and now have fantastic sight. Mr Anderson & his team are the best, put you at ease and everything explained so well.

I had very blurry vision in both my eyes that came on very quickly over a few months which I found very scary.
After doing some research and looking at reviews I decided to make an appointment with Mr Anderson and I am so glad that I did. I rang his office and the lady that i spoke to was so helpful and very informative about what would happen at my consultation appointment.
I saw Mr Anderson at the Nuffield hospital and he quickly and very efficiently diagnosed me with Cataracts .He then took the time to discuss and explain my options throughly.
A week later I had cataract removal from both my eyes and tri focal lenses fitted.The staff at the Nuffield hospital were so kind and caring and although i was nervous, Mr Anderson was so calm and confident I knew I was in the right hands.The procedure to remove my cataracts and replace my lenses was so much easier than I was expecting, it was completely pain free and within 30 Minutes I was back in my room eating my lunch!
I now have perfect vision and the added bonus of not needing glasses has been completely life changing for me and I could not be happier.

My gratitude towards Dr. Anderson goes beyond what words can express. He is an exceptionally skilled ophthalmologist, a true expert, and an incredibly kind and dedicated professional.

From start to finish, he made me feel safe, informed, and genuinely cared for. He personally sees every patient before and after surgery — and that alone says a lot about how committed and amazing he is.

I had long lists of questions (I always want to know every detail), and he answered each of them calmly and thoroughly. He explained all the steps, reassured me, and gave me the confidence I needed to go through with it. His belief in me gave me strength — and the results were beyond my expectations.

The procedure itself? Absolutely no pain at all. The laser part is actually amazing — you just lie back, relax, stare at a green light, then a white light. I imagined myself in a place I love, and before I knew it, it was done. So quick. So smooth.

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Annie as well. She is simply wonderful. She held my hand during the procedure, explained the eye drops routine clearly and kindly. Her warmth and sense of humour made the whole experience so much easier.

Just a day and a half after the surgery, I came in for my first follow-up — and I was over the moon when I was told that my vision was already better than the legal standard for driving. It is just incredible!

My case wasn’t simple. I had high astigmatism, myopia and one of my eyes is a lazy eye, on top of that — and for my entire life (until now), I struggled to see clearly in the distance. I hated wearing glasses and avoided them whenever I could. Even worse, every optician (and some doctors) told me that astigmatism couldn’t be treated. I lived with that frustration for years.

Now, I can see clearly without any aid. It still feels surreal. I only wish I had found Dr. Anderson sooner. This was truly a life-changing experience!

After years of wearing glasses I built up the courage to have eye surgery Wow wish I had done it years ago Mr Anderson is very helpful and talked me through the whole procedure which took minutes and no pain at all. From the moment I met Mr Anderson I felt reassured and confident. I am terrified of anything eyes, and cannot even stand a fly getting in my eye without crying. After all you only get one set of eyes and they cannot just be replaced. So Lasik presbyond was a massive step for me. However, I was so tired of my glasses steaming up, rain on my glasses, not being able to tell which was shampoo or conditioner in the shower, working the gym locker keypad by pattern not sight, and generally feeling 'old'. I can unreservedly say that the procedure was easier than an eye test at the optician. I felt totally relaxed in theatre, "just look at the green light", that's it. No pain. As soon as I left the hospital, and got my lift home I was able to read the smallest of print form an old book that was in the car door pocket. It was incredible, like a miracle. I would advise anyone without hesitation to have this treatment.
