I’ve shopped at HQ for over three years and they’ve never disappointed with the quality of ants. I’ve gotten over 8 colonies here and they are always very healthy. The Messor cephalotes colony I’ve gotten around 2 years ago is the biggest colony in my collection right now and I love them to bits! So surprised to see that they are based in London so close to us, so extremely lucky to always have HQ near me when I need them. Brilliant shop for keepers from beginning to expert level, always having species that other shops don’t! Last time I went I got two feather tip forceps and a very healthy colony of honey pots!

equipment they sell may be good so not judging that, but don't buy live species from these guys, me and a friend bought Messor Barberus at the same time, neither queen laid eggs and workers died off, i have a few species of ants which all live happily here from wild sources except the messors, most likely infertile queens they sent us to get rid of them, obviously took time for me to realise and was refused a refund or any replacement. you have been warned!

I had a little delivery problem , but this was resolved very fast as they responded quickly. I 100% recommend purchasing the Messor Babarus colony from ants Hq !

I bought a small colony of messus barbaros for my son. The Delivery was very quick and the packaging really well padded and secure. Could not ask for better service from start to finish.

Recently ordered a Messor Barbarus queen, arrived promptly. Have used this supplier for years, one of the best UK suppliers, never had any problems, always good communication

I received my order on time and well packed for posting.My colony of Formica cinerea arrived well and are now settling into their new home. Ants HQ have a great selection of ants and equipment for all ant keepers.

Dispatched the morning after I ordered and then arrived the following day. Very good packaging, and no fatalities which is impressive as I ordered 2 colonies that are sensitive to travel (Harpegnathos Venator and Camponotus Singularis).

What a pleasant experience dealing with Ants HQ. Not only was my order shipped really quickly but was packaged well. Even had a little surprise when I unboxed.

I've bought many different ant colonies from Ants HQ ranging from Harpegnathos venator to most recently Tetraponera rufonigra which arrived today Feb 11 safe and sound, the products and live stock are fairly priced and the staff are very helpful 5*

i have ordered three colonies from the HQ and i heard bad things about them at first but decided to give them a try. Let me tell you if you are looking to buy from a country further away these guys are the way to go! All my colonies were healthy, great packaging, and even in the winter they didnt die in shipping.

These guys are absolutely fantastic, In one of my previous orders i had 2 nests and 2 ant colonies but when it arrived they gave me 2 of the same nest (which i really didnt mind i quite like them) when i emailed about it they gave me a 20% discount which was just so nice of them, I then ordered a colony of Myrmica Ruginodis and asked if they could deliver it on saturday since i'm quite busy and they were more than happy to do so (even though they said they dont deliver on saturdays) Which is just fantastic of them. I honestly would give them a higher rating if i could. Such a kind and caring team!

Delivery was super quick. And the packaging the ants were sent it was great, really well padded and a heat pack included. Ants arrived safe and sound. Could not ask for better service from start to finish.

Edit: Since writing this review antshq reached out to me after my most recent order (myrmica rugdonodis) and apologised for everything that went wrong on their end and upgraded my new order from a single queen colony to a three queen colony, completely free.
The communication over emails was incredibly fast and clear too, overall a great show of professionalism from them.

Ive used antshq many times and every other time has been 10/10, hence the 2 stars rather than one.
However, before christmas (around the 10th-15th i think) I ordered a small colony of black garden ants, I did assume there would be a delay because of the holidays but since there wasnt a notice on the website i assumed they would just carry out the order or send me an email.
They did send me an email but only automated responses, the second of which said they were closed over the holidays.
That in of itself was no problem, I was expecting it to happen, however the problem was is the email said to check on the website for the closure dates and when shipping would resume, which wasnt anywhere on the website, instagram, facebook etc.
After christmas i got an email saying they were prepping the order and that it was dispatched etc however when they arrived (8th January) I was sent Black Carpenter Ants, and it wasnt by mistake as on the order receipt in the box black garden ants was crossed out in pen with carpenter ants written on top.
This may make me seem a bit silly since they are incredibly similar species care wise but they werent what i ordered, if i had an email asking if i would have liked them as a replacement (garden ants were out of stock at the time) I would have been happy to, or to just wait a little longer.
The reason I have set the experience day for today is that i have checked on them this morning to find the queen not just deceased but torn apart by the workers, which considering i am not even close to a novice ant keeper and had them in perfect conditions I am incredibly shocked.
I did not consider a refund at first as i tend to avoid those things where i can but considering both issues i now will try get either a refund or replacement.

I had confusions and they messed up my order. They replied to my email within an hour and they have sent the stuff I was missing and also are sending extra stuff I didn’t even order! Thank you ants hq and thank you katy for replying to my email so fast!

Fabulous company! And fabulous product! Won’t go anywhere else for my ant supplies!

Ordered a small ant box for my son for Christmas and he loves it! Can’t wait for the ants to arrive! Really good quality product, and looks great in his room.

Second time ordering and feeder insects were all 100% The first time I order two colonies (camponotus multilarius & harpegnathos venator) which are sensitive ants and both arrived perfectly fine all workers and brood 100% No complaints and i highly recommend. Will always be my go to ant shop they have everything I need and a wide selection of healthy ants.
