Apilayer - I asked refund the day when the prolonged my subscription.

Because they did not want to process refund, I simply filled the police case and send that for chargeback to my bank. It took 2 months and voila - the bank admitted that this is possible scam behaviour and send me money back.

I keep that here for all other users having the same problem with refunds.

ipstack.com started out great. GeoIP for a couple bucks a month when the free options started disappearing. Never had problems. Then the price kept going up, so I decided not to renew as my credit card was expiring (sounds like I was lucky). I wasn't even mad about the price increase, I just couldn't afford it anymore. I did notice I wasn't able to remove my expired CC, which I found weird

I tried warning them in the first email I was moving on from the service. No response. Canned response escalated to 'account termination' so I was like ok I'll do it for you and deleted my account. Seems like you shouldn't do that. I was under the impression it was a glitch with their bulling system, but after reading others experiences then I'm guessing they don't actually delete your account and continue to try to charge except now you're locked out of your account.

I am STILL getting emails, presumably with attempted charges to my expired CC behind them. Now the canned response is threatening legal action against my non-existent account for a bill I don't even think exists. I'll never get mad at a card expiring ever again. What the heck man?

Very poor service.
Nothing works in Free plan, so I signed up with Basic plan.
APIs don't run as documented (Not well documented).
Postman doesn't work.
I am getting billed for Premium service which I didn't sign up for.
Does anything work?

This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. They just try to stall you.

Apparently, we had an active subscription for months, but it completely slipped our notice, and we didn’t make a single API call — meaning we never used the service at all. Despite that, they continued charging the subscription fee every month.

I contacted customer support and requested a refund. After stringing me along for 12 days, they told me they couldn’t refund even a single cent.

There was no need to make me wait two weeks just to say that. If you ever experience something similar, don’t even bother contacting them — just speak with your bank and file a chargeback. And if you’re considering doing business with this company, I strongly recommend staying away.

Even after blocking them on revolut they charge your card under a different company name and absolute fraudsters and scam. Stay away.

It's scam!! Once they have your credit card information, they don't let you cancel...

Very bad company. I subscribed and had a system checking UK VAT numbers online. They did not BOTHER reading very important emails from the UK HMRC about upcoming changes to the system that would mean their system would not continue to work unless they made BIG changes. They did nothing. So my system suddenly stopped working. But they'd gone ahead and charged me another year. They've done NOTHING to fix the problem many months down the road and refuse to refund me. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. I can advise how to connect directly.

‘0’ would be a better description. They only post invoices to account. Its law that they email or post, You only find out when you see credit card, then to late and quote you their T&C’s. All these reviews say it all.

Stay away from Fixer / ApiLayer !!! I was on their paid plan, and canceled at some point. Months later found a charge for annual subscription on my card. Turns out my subscription was somehow not canceled. They refused to refund that payment also. So I went and tested their self-service portal. There, when I try to cancel, the interface is claiming package is canceled, but actually it is not. Looks to me more like a systematic scam, based on countless similar reports, than a solid business.

I've been double charged 2 months in a row. I write to them and get no response. Fraudulent website.

My account does not have any subscription and the money is still being charged.

I wrote to support to cancel and refund all months. They were refunded for one month and the subscription is still ongoing and in the following months my account is again charged.

I do not recommend this service.

They claim that they will notify you at 75%, 90% and 100% usage, but this is untrue. They charged us with nearly 600USD in overage charges without any notification.

I reached out to them multiple ways (email, website form, emails to parent company) over 2 months and received no response whatsoever. Someone from APIlayer actually reached out to me to check if they could help with our regular account, and when I responded regarding the unexpected charges, he stopped responding entirely.

Stay away from this company. They don't provide the updates they market anyway (advertise updates every 30-60 seconds, actual updates are between 5-6 minutes.) There are better alternatives.

They're monopolizing an open source project in order to gain more attention, should tell you enough about the company.

This company is a scam. I lost over $3200 for them.
I received a notification from their system stating that I exceeded my monthly request limit and my current subscription plan does not allow any further API requests for this period. However, I can request more and they will charge me an additional amount. I am confused about this. I have already paid a significant amount for their API and I feel like this is a scam.
Additionally, my Master Card expires on 05.2022. So, I would like to know why they will charge me after my card has expired. It makes me question the legitimacy of your services.
This company charged me $400+ per month for a basic plan with an annual fee of $99.99. I lost over $3200 for them. Despite multiple refund requests, they have not responded and are likely a scam.

This "company" doesn't let you cancel the account, and won't reply to your emails.

Spam and threats to file a complaint if we do not renew our subscription. We took out a one-year subscription to test ipstack and decided to temporarily suspend our subscription because the site is still into development. But Apilayer/Ipstack kept trying to take payment from our card (which we have to keep frozen) despite us asking them to suspend our subscription. They keep trying to charge our bank card for a new subscription. Now they are threatening to sue us if we don't resubscribe to ipstack 🤨. We took out a one-year subscription to test the IPstack platform which sends a lot of errors and instead of resolving the problems, prefers to threaten customers with resubscription. We have decided to no longer use IPstack or any api layer products and we recommend that you do not use any of their products.

Fraud of a service. Refuses to terminate my account. Billed for over a year without my permission. Requested cancellation over 1 and a half years ago now.
Absolute scam, BEWARE.
