I had a very bad experience with a garage that 'attempted' to fix my flywheel and ended up doing significant damage to my car and gearbox. I contacted ASR Gearboxes and they were more than helpful. Giving me a full diagnosis of the issues with the car and assistance in trying to claim from the previous garage.

Spoke with Elliot who was knowledgeable, polite and empathetic regarding the problem with my VW golf. He arranged recovery and diagnostics of the problem, set to work on rectification of the problem. He contacted me when the repair was complete and arranged delivery for a next day. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again. His customer service skills were excellent. ASR Gearbox Repairs have support me in repairing my car twice in less than a year. The service and support provided was exceptional. I have to call out the technical advisor Sonny for his amazing level of professionalism and customer service he provided. I always felt at ease knowing he was managing the repair of my vehicle.
The team at ASR Gearbox Repairs support in replacing the entire rear differential of my Audi Q5 as well as later on replacing a deteriorated solenoid in the transition system. Both of these services were performed efficiently and reasonably priced, they even provide logistical solutions to get my vehicle from my home to the garage and back again.
I hope not to need to use their services again but if I do I know they will do an amazing job.
Once again, I have to say if you have Sonny managing your repair, you have nothing to worry about.

My main contact was Elliot, who took the stress out of a nightmare situation involving clutch, gearbox, mechatronic, and hydraulic pump failure. After the initial shock of the repair cost, Elliot’s clear communication and reassurance gave me full confidence to approve the quote — even without meeting him in person.

What really sets ASR apart is their end-to-end service, including collection and delivery of your vehicle after repair. That kind of care makes a huge difference.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend ASR, though I hope I won’t need them again anytime soon!

This company is excellent. They made my experience very smooth from the beginning when I spoke to Danny he gave me confidence. They have made my gearbox feel like new. ASR did a brilliant and quick repair to my car which needed new gearbox clutch and mechatronics. They kept me informed every step of the way and I appreciated their free collection and delivery service. Altogether a highly professional company and their testing was meticulous. I contacted ASR concerning a transmission fault light coming on in my car, arranged for them to collect my vehicle for a diagnostic. Estimated quote received before the diagnostic test:

The cost to repair the faults as mentioned do vary but generally are around £2,500.00+ VAT for a straightforward clutch replacement, however in the worst case scenario up to £4,500.00 + VAT for a complete rebuild of the gearbox with new dual clutches and an ECU repair - this would only be the case if the worn clutches have contaminated the gearbox oil and spread the contamination internally, this is quite common due to the fact that most people only realise the fault when it is too late.

After the diagnostic was completed, I then received an updated quote from ASR; the cost had now gone up to £5,775.42 Inc. VAT for the original works listed above, which had been estimated at £ 4,500.00+VAT at worst case scenario. On receiving the revised quote, I then informed them that I do not want the work to proceed due to the high cost of the repairs.
I then received an offer from them to complete all the work for £4,000 for cash with a 6-month warranty. I declined the offer and had my vehicle collected and taken to a different garage, where all the repair works were completed for £3,000 and covered by a 12-month warranty.

I would strongly recommend not committing to using this company until you have checked around first with different garages to compare costs.

Truly an amazing company with great customer service! Called them to enquire about possible gearbox issue with my car and the man, elliot, spent a long time explaining their process, giving me general advice when I asked for it and proceeding to answer every question I could think of. Despite me deciding a repair wasn’t ideal for me as gearbox fixes are worth more then my cars retail value, elliot was still answering all my general question and super helpful, never making me feel rushed at all. So although I never received any actual mechanical work, I can truly say their customer service was excellent !!

We have received an outstanding service with a fantastic turn around thanks to Jay Shaw and his colleagues. Our Kia Sportage Semi Auto had a gear box fault only using even gears and displaying error code which needed an experts attention. I recently had my vehicle's gearbox repaired by ASR, and I couldn't be more impressed with the service. From start to finish I was always kept up to date with what was required.

Elliot went above and beyond what was required and communicated with the warranty company to help recover some of the expense.

A very big thankyou to Jay and the Team for finally fixing my Ford Ecosport, I know it did take a long while however Jay kept me updated with the progress along the way. Would recommend to any friends and family. Great service when the car is collected and then dropped off when the work is finished.

ASR went above and beyond.
My Citroen C4 Picasso went to ASR for semi auto box to be mended as no-one in Norfolk would touch it due to complexity (more than likely Norfolk gearbox folk are incapable).
Car was collected free of charge.
One acuator stripped and fully reconditioned, new clutch and flywheel fitted and it was duly returned to me about 2 weeks later.
ASR may not be the cheapest but they are true to their word.
THIS IS NOT A NEGATIVE - I sent my car back to ASR as my dash came up with a gearbox fault error after about doing3K. Collected by ASR who found gearbox to be OK.
They did however, find on diagnostics that there were electrical issues.
Remember that these guys are gearbox only not electrics.
Having said that the centre manage spent his day off trying to get to the bottom of the issues. In fairness he need not have done this. He did his best but had to give up as he is not electrical mechanic.
The car was returned to me and is now awaiting repair by the main dealer.
OK I had to pay for recovery/retrun of the car and diagnostics. The bill was way under half the price that I was expecting.
You may be dubious about there guarantee. Do not be. They will collect and return your car if it goes wrong within 12 months.

They called me evertime during the repair, honest company and they have a knoledge about the job.

Amazing service from ASR, dealt with Jay from start to finish. I had several issues with my Seat Ibiza, after speaking to Jay he advised me I had mechatronic failure and it was most likely solenoid related. I was quoted with in quick succession and my car was repaired in 6 days! Recommend these guys to anyone.

ASR offer a faultless service - my Audi A4 was having tempremental issues and then got stuck one day and wouldn't move out of the work car park. I called ASR and spoke to James who was professional, efficient and knowledgeable and had my car collected the next morning to be repaired. I only had to put up with public transport for 5 days (including a weekend!) and the car was delivered back to me and felt as good as the day I bought it. Highly recommended!!

Had a great experience with ASR for my car. Chris was upfront about both the best- and worst-case costs and clearly explained what likely needed doing. The car was collected two days after booking, which was decent—though I did have to follow up to get a timeframe. The repair was spot on and the car now drives like new. I’d happily use them again (though hopefully I won’t need to!).

Do not use this so called company as they are scammers, every car will be told its £5000 to repair/fix, they don't even look at your car to see what's wrong, when really they want you to sell your car to them really cheap as they know the majority of people won't or can't afford to get it fixed so they offer you peanuts for your car and then sell it on basically earn from your misfortune, they have no garages up and down the country as stated on their website, its a small office in Heathrow with guys sitting on laptops selling and buying cars, the whole website is so misleading and looks genuine to pull you in but is a load of rubbish. As for reviews they must be made up reviews and conveniently straight after the 2 bad reviews. Please don't waste your time and money when the website is a load of rubbish and fake and so is the company, I've also been offered money to take down my previous review which says it all, please don't be scammed these are fraudsters. Also my first review was taken down as I had mentioned certain names of other people, giving which I actually think are fake reviews, but other so called reviews use all other people's names in the reviews, they just want to remove the real reviews!
