I think they are doing a good job. The other reviews should snore more money if they want things to be better

After Dogs Trust refused to take our Chihuahua because she has a heart murmur not requiring medication.. Old Windsor were really helpful and understanding. Very happy with the whole quick process of giving our dog up for adoption. Sad day but I know she will be in good hands. Thanks so much for making it stress free for us. Receptionist was lovely too!

Battersea’s Brands Hatch centre provided an easy and enjoyable adoption service. A telephone interview, a few emails and a property check resulted in us taking Sherbet home the same day we visited!

Making it far too hard for good and experienced dog owners to adopt shelter dogs from Battersea.

They don't seem to care about good owners and good people...

Basically if you've got a garden, you're in and go to the top of any waiting list.

Becomes more a garden test than an owner of great love and experience who has for decades managed to walk and exercise dogs to long and fulfilling lives without the "magic garden".

Always seemed to me that having a garden is a very good excuse for owners to not take their dog for a good exercise every day. Years ago, I got my first dog from Battersea......won't be bothering again.

Their loss...and a dog who could have been loved to within an inch of it's life misses out.

I'd love to know why Battersea is listing a 3 month old Bullmastiff puppy as only being suitable for homes where children are over 13 years old? I've never known such nonsense! I am an experienced BM owner, my recently departed 10.5yo Bullmastiff lived with my 8yo son since we brought him home from hospital aged 2 days old, she loved him from day 1 and as with most Bullmastiffs, was as gentle and loving as could be with him.
I'd also love to know why they're claiming another dog is a Bullmastiff when it clearly is a crossbreed. White and black and feckled like markings on a Bullmastiff's face sets alarm bells ringing! Who is writing these awful listings?!

Do not touch this place with a barge pole. Hostile reception. Wanted to adopt a cat but shall pay to buy a new one. No wonder they have to put the cats down. Disgraceful

The way they do things now is like they don’t want you to rehome a cat. You can’t meet them now. You can’t just go there anymore and have a look. Now on the website the different centres don’t even come up. It’s not what it used to be like. It’s like you are told you have to have this one. I was so keen on leaving them my house in my will but not anymore. I don’t know who I will leave it to now. Cats Protection League is all that’s left. My mum recently needed a new cat. She always went to Battersea and she hates the new process so much, she gave up and went to CPL instead. Change your ways Battersea!!!

Not what I said. Mum wanted a cat from you. Her last 3 cats have come from you. She doesn’t want to be matched. She wants to meet them and then choose. To be told you can only meet this one and then hear nothing for weeks. It’s hopeless and she gave up. Went to Cats Protection League instead. Your website now, you can’t even see what cats at each centre as you changed it. I can’t see how you manage to rehome anything now. I wanted to leave you my home. Totally changed my mind after recent experiences. No one wants to be told you can only view this one!!! Taking on a pet for 20 years…. You want to choose it.

My experience with Battersea when adopting Copper has been amazing the excellent communication and advice from all the staff has been exceptional including the veterinary nurse the additional needs like the food package along with the security blanket has made the process not stressful for the cat or myself. Also the amazing foster Mum who had some brilliant advice and answered all my questions.

Such lovely caring people and made George (cat) their priority, to ensure he was well and been to the Vets before he came home.
We had a handover from the foster carer which was so helpful to settle George in.
Shaun from Battersea Communities was amazing and kept us up to date on the re homing and was and still is on hand for any questions we may have.
Thank you so much Battersea from 2 Happy humans and a very happy George.

All the staff with whom we came into contact,from those "manning" the car park to the vet,were very helpful, friendly and professional.
Little kitten Frieda has been given a great start to her life. It is an anxious time re-homing a rescue animal but we came away feeling supported and reassured we could contact the team at any time afterwards. THANK YOU ALL

Really friendly and helpful staff who have been so great throughout the rehoming experience. Would definitely recommend Battersea and choosing to adopt a rescue pet.

I've just adopted my cat Jazz from Old Windsor and it was a brilliant experience, everyone was lovely and I really felt they wanted him to have a new home and be contented

Some polices need to be reviewed and updated. Wanted to rehome and indoor only cat but was declined as I didn’t have a cat flap with 24-hour access to the outside. There is not need for an outside access for an indoor only cat as it can be very dangerous for those breeds! Can’t believe they think it’s better for cats to stay in a shelter in cages rather than chill on a sofa with a family. Very disappointed

Very helpful and knowledgeable which helped us choose the right cat rather than the nervous one which we originally thought about rehoming.

Everyone from reception to the nurses were so kind and understanding.The accomodation for the cats was very clean and comfortable.The love for the cats was very evident

Stopped my monthly payment as I was being pestered by a consultancy firm asking me to pay more. This firm was costing them £10’s of K’s so don’t need my money.

I have just rescued my 4th Battersea dog. I cannot thank the staff at London & Brands Hatch Centre enough for all the hard & rewarding work they do. It’s good to know that my dogs have had a great start with Battersea before they came to me. Have only had my Cookie for a week now and she has settled so well after a bad start for her. Thank you again Battersea you are an amazing rescue centre.

The experience was fantastic and the process was good and I would recommend anyone to get a dog from Battersea the dog we got has settled in well

Battersea are an amazing charity and the process from start to finish was excellent. We saw three cats and were told all about them, background, behaviours etc. We chose our cat and took him home the same day. I would definitely recommend them for rehoming and our cat Spock has settled in nicely to our home.

Working with Battersea Cats & Dogs was an absolute delight.

My new companion, a senior cat called Smudge, could not be a more perfect fit for me. I've never met a more affectionate cat, and she has enriched my life exponentially.

The volunteers went out of their way to accommodate me and took excellent care of Smudge in the meantime.
