This is the worst airport ever. Passport control takes 1.5 to 2 hours with one person responsible for non-EU travellers. The staff are extremely rude, and really don’t care. Whatever you do, do not travel through this airport. You’d get to Berlin quicker flying through another German airport and driving into Berlin. The staff just walk away, have no empathy, and basically say that they know there is a problem but say nothing. This is the worst border control ever and frankly are an embarrassment to the country.

We took a flight from Terminal 2, Berlin Airport. Probably the worst airport I’ve ever had to wait in. Minimal selection of food and drinks, toilets out of service, the whole place looks like an unfinished industrial unit. Is this what the capital of a developed, European nation has to offer?!

So einen Service habe ich niemals an einem Flughafen erlebt. Die arbeiten ALLE im Schnecken-Tempo und gleich frech (speziell an der Sondergebäck-Abgabe)dazu. Die Security ist die langsamste weltweit. Warum fehlt die Kontrolle??

Passport control 1 1/2 hours wait on a ryan air flight arrival. Two non eu passport control officers for over 300 passengers. MUST TRY HARDER.
Even us brits are quicker.

Waiting an hour to go through passport control and around another 2 hours to wait at this rate. Never coming back to Germany. Came here for a 3 day weekend and wasted hours being punished for Brexit. When are the UK going to reciprocate?

In questo momento ho effettuo i controlli di sicurezza ed hanno buttato quasi tutti i souvenir acquistati, ingiustificatamente e senza alcuna spiegazione! Non c'erano liquidi o prodotti infiammabili, cibo, niente, se non souvenir!
Vergogna!!!!
Però in compenso mi hanno restituito la bottiglia d'acqua da 1 litro!
Se volete fare davvero i tedeschi, severi e ligi alle regole, fatelo con coerenza se no uno pensa che siete marionette!
Vedo che ve la passate male anche con le altre recensioni eh!
Mi sorprende che leggendo i commenti negativi, il Governo Tedesco non intervenga immediatamente, facendo scappare i turisti o lasciando ricordi di disprezzo!
Da avvocato, segnalerò l'accaduto, alle autorità competenti, sperando che vi mandino TUTTI a casa!

Wie kommt man darauf, ein Gate ohne Sitzmöglichkeit zu planen??????

Arrive and you will have a 2 hour or more standing que wait with no seats or access to food or drink while you wait for passport control to scan your passport, they had 3 people scanning passports for all the flights and you could see they hated the job so was in no rush and would take on average 5mins to scan on passport.

Where they say arrive at the airport 2hrs before, I would advice 3 or 4 hours personally

Do not be fooled when you get though security and into duty free thinking that was easy, what they dont say is you need to go to your gate about 90mins before your plane starts boarding as the is another passport check with another 1hr to 90min que and everyone is not aware and people are pushing passed you amout to miss flights and the is a mass disorder with rude staff unwilling to help or even talk to you and if you even mention your planes is boarding and you will miss your flight they will still tell you to get to tge back of the que and again same as when your arrive they have 4 desks open to do the whole terminal amd very slow and no sense of urgency.

Staff are rude and you can tell they are stressed and not even happy working their as they must have the same everyday experience with so much bad management and disorganisation.

If you have kids I feel sorry for you as the is so much standing around waiting and panic with passengers departing its a disaster of an airport and everyone in the que was so furious and all saying it's the worst in the world they have experienced.

People departing missed flights because of the passport checks after duty free and before you go to your gate because they dont tell you and the 90min ques, peopls was forced to spend money booking another flight because they missed it due to passport control and airlines understood but still charged a large number of people around me in the que to book an other flight because they missed it due to the airport even though they was their many hours before but ques really slow and no staff working the desks

Honesty avoid the airport if you can and use another and get a train as will be quicker and you can sit and keep stress free

Ein unverschämtes Personal bei Sicherheitskontrolle,arbeiten wie Schnecken,unterhalten sich genüsslich vor den wartenden Fluggästen und lassen sie einfach stehen und extrem unfreundlich,glauben sie können dort recht herablassend sein.
So etwas hab ich noch nie erlebt auf einen Flughafen

Wir sind rund um zufrieden! Hinflug nach Paris mit Easyjet Freitags um 7:00 ohne Probleme- super schnell mit der S9 hingefahren- automatischer Bagdrop- 1 Minute durch die neue Sicherheitslinie 5- mega schnell und sehr Freundliches Personal. Ankunft drei Tage später super pünktlich- Gepäck hat schon auf uns gewartet- wir hatten keine 10 Minuten mit dem Bus vom Vorfeld gebraucht- noch schnell auf eine saubere Toilette und ratzfatz mit der S9 nach Hause-

Stressful and badly managed airport: 1) long waiting time at security. You can book a slot for a security control which often takes longer time that a regular security check (what is the point?). The fact that you introduce such slots only shows how overwhelmed the management is with such a simple task such as to ensure smooth security check; 2) staff was uncommitted and unfriendly, it seems their work is a punishment; is it my fault? 3) lack of correct information; staff I asked for help was either always busy (talking and laughing among themselves) or was giving contradictory guidance.
Try to avoid this airpot. no wonder passenger numbers are dropping while everywhere else they are booming

A modern airport but concerning passport queues. You need to allow up to an hour to get through on arrival and departure. Would appreciate a response from the airport authorities as to why it takes so long : I would suggest a lack of staff given the volume of passengers; and under investment in updated passport scanners. On departure was told to just barge through the queue ‘if people would let you’ to get to my flight in time….

After such long delays building it I was expecting a far far better experience. The worst experience of all, however, was getting through passport control. It took 80 minutes on a relatively quiet day. Far too many border control seemed to be observing and reading the manual rather than processing. 80 minutes with no seats, no water and no apologies. I'd be embarrassed.

Unfriendly staff, badly organized, queues everywhere. Embarrassing for a capital city.

We arrived at Berlin Brandenburg Airport with more than two hours to get through to our Jet2 flight, yet passport control was an absolute nightmare. The area was severely understaffed, queues barely moved, and despite the time-sensitive situation, staff showed no urgency at all. When we politely explained that our flight was due to depart and asked for help, we were repeatedly told there was nothing they could do. Their attitude was rude, dismissive, and it genuinely felt like they didn’t care in the slightest.

When we were finally allowed to move forward, we were placed behind someone with passport issues, which delayed us even further. To make matters worse, an officer incorrectly claimed a passport stamp was missing, adding yet another unnecessary delay. As a result, we missed our flight and ended up spending hundreds of pounds on new flights, a taxi to another airport, and extra parking fees — all completely avoidable.

This was one of the worst airport experiences I’ve ever had. Passport control is totally mismanaged, and the staff are unhelpful, indifferent, and unwilling to assist passengers even when flights are about to leave. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid this airport or arrive far earlier than you think you should.

Ridiculous wait times for border control can only be deliberately discriminating against uk travellers. Germany of old would be very ashamed . Their reputation for efficiency has gone completely. Guests arriving have a very negative view of your country - shame on you Berlin Brandenburg Airport .

This is a really awful airport! Unfriendly personnel, endless lines for checking-in and security control, huge distances to walk, terrible assistance if required (my mother almost lost her flight, waiting for a wheel-chair and for someone to pick her up). Unfortunately I have to fly often, something I largely enjoyed in the past, but now I dread the moment...

If possible avoid, and use alternative airports like in Leibzig/Halle. Believe me that two hours on a train is much better than two hours of queuing

Don't be late at T2 - you have been warned.

Security took 30+ minutes, then absolutely refused boarding at gate although all other passengers still sat in lounge, and had not started to board.

Had to exit back to check-in - fortunately space on next flight, 100 euros extra - 40 minutes through security this time, Got to gate already boarding flight - same staff let me through.

Abflug nach Helsinki verzögert sich , da das Gepäck in eine falsche Maschine geladen wurde und deshalb nicht mehr auffindbar war. Die Organisation hier ist einzigartig weltweit! Peter

Dieser BER mit seiner Wartezeit auf das Gepäck ist der Hohn schlechthin.
