Great experience with Birkdale, helped me get a very fair price for my fleet insurance. Would definitely recommend checking out.

I could not recommend Mike Simpson from the Shrewsbury branch of Birkdale Insurance Group more highly!

As a business looking to move to a Fleet Insurance Policy for the first time, I had experienced hurdle after hurdle from many insurers and brokers alike. However after stumbling across Birkdale Insurance Group online, from the very first contact Mike made the entire process so easy!

Always on hand to answer any questions I had in a timely fashion and happy to give us the time we needed to consider our options.... What more could we ask for!

A huge thank you to Mike and the team for the way in which you have helped us and saved us money along the way!

If I could give zero stars I would. So I took out Taxi insurance from this company in June this year as my renewal was due. Everything was great until my call today to cancel the policy, turns out that as I have a claim ongoing with another company, not my fault-no fault claim and the third party insurer is dragging their heels, that I cannot claim any money back for the unused part of the policy, 8 months worth, and if I cancel it I will owe them £100. This is a complete and utter rip off, was never mentioned when I took on the policy, surprise surprise, so now with loss of earnings and the payments on this policy via PayPal credit Im looking at a near £2000 pound loss through no fault of my own. Do not buy from here they will rip you off and state its a clause in the insurers policy. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!

Update: After have a phone call and email regarding my claim this disgusting scam of a company have now stated that due to an ongoing claim, as mentioned previously, they will not accept a cancellation and I will have to pay nearly £200 to cancel, they also claimed that and altercation with a deer I had initially put a claim in for repair, a claim I subsequently cancelled, received an email with that effect, is now an issue and doubled down on the no refund for cancellation.

If anyone takes any insurance products from this company beware you will be in the same situation as I am and will lose £hundreds should you need to cancel.

THEY ARE A FRAUD, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS!!!

Edit: After contacting company later on I managed to get some money back (£175), they were also pretty nice about it. I would give them rate 2.5/5 but that is not a case so as a gesture of a good I rounded it up to 3.

I should have read 1 star reviews before going with them. Terrible company, no communication from them for over 72h from my last email. My insurance should start on 10th of July, it is already 4pm and nothing from them. When I called to see what's going on I was told that they are still waiting for my NCB which they knew I am going to get after my insurance is finished (also 10th). They knew when my old policy was going to finish and did not say that this is going to be an issue at any contact with them! I have cancelled my policy straight away and I have been informed that not only I will not get my deposit back but also I need to pay another £175 extra. I am already back with my previous provider with access to the documents already on my email, so I can continue to work. 

I use the Brighton branch and Charlie hands down best person I’ve dealt with in the 9 years I’ve been getting taxi insurance. Will continue to use Birkdale always from now on. Very quick and efficient. Highly recommend.

Despite having no claims and building up a no-claims bonus, I experienced a car accident in September where the other party's liability was accepted, and I received confirmation.

However, upon my insurance renewal in March, they attempted to charge me an exorbitant £5,000, citing an ongoing insurance dispute despite clear evidence of accepted liability. Birkdale has shown pure greed, prioritizing their profits over customer protection. They've been unresponsive, stalling the resolution for months and withholding my earned no-claims bonus.

This situation has caused significant mental distress and financial strain, impacting my ability to work and provide for my family, especially with two kids to support. Birkdale Insurance Group's lack of concern for customer well-being is appalling. I strongly advise caution when considering this broker; they are the worst and should be avoided."

Would give it zero if I could. I recently (6th September ) renewed my taxi insurance with another company after getting a more competitive quote. Since this date I have been trying without success to get my no claims certificate. Yesterday I called for the 4th tIme and spoke to Curtis who assured me I would have it by the end of the day ( after agreeing that I should have had it by now). I am now being told that my new insurance is to be cancelled as I haven’t produced my certificate.
Beware of getting involved with this company. As is common, they are desperate to get your business but don’t care once you move on

First year with Birkdale. Rob was recommended by another taxi driver. He responded immediately and within a short time gave me a very competitive Quote which I accepted immediately. Thank you Rob for all your help during the process.
