Mis sold a BMW approved used car via Arnold Clark Glasgow and BMW customer services were not interested in helping and just took the side of the dealer.
Now find ourselves with a car without a FSH and financial impact on the value. Dealer has offered an embarrassing amount of compensation.
Bmw faulty injectors
This is a bit drawn out. I recently purchased a used bmw privately. The car has 50.000 miles on the clock. The car started to misfire. After some investigation, it turns out it is the injectors on the car. Bmw made piezo in jectors between index 1 to index 12. Index 1 to index 10 were so unreliable that in some countries they replaced the injectors or gave an extended warranty to 120.000 miles. After inspection I found my car has index 7 injectors which are basically expensive paperweights. I contacted bmw and explained the situation, they basically gave me the middle finger. The only injectors that are reliable are index 11 and 12, they cost between 6 and 900 pounds each there are six on my car, so do the maths. bmw state, you should not mix index 11 or 12 with index 1 through 10 which means you have to buy 6 injectors. Bmw no longer make index 7 injectors. They made an excuse that the car wasn't serviced by them so its my problem. Bmw know that these injectors are faulty, they were fitted to my car from factory, and they are refusing to take any responsibility for this issue leaving me thousands of pounds out of pocket. This is the same old story, big corporations are happy to take your money, but refuse to give you any help once they have. So I'm writing this review as a warning to anyone buying a used bmw between 2007 and 2013, check what injectors the vehicle you purchase has, because you could end up with a bill of thousands of pounds because bmw no longer makes the part you need for these vehicles.
BMW Peterborough Sycamore - poor service for repair under warranty
Contacted BMW Sycamore dealership in Peterborough to get my X3 booked in for repairs under its 3 year warranty. The Customer Service Agent, Siobhan, was abrupt, didnât listen properly, talked over me and had a poor attitude throughout the call.
Was informed of a £202 investigation fee, calculated by the minute, if their technicians determined the fault wasnât covered under warranty. She couldnât tell me if it would likely be covered despite me providing details. She just read out the standard BMW warranty text about what wasnât covered. I asked to speak to a technician for advice, which wasnât possible at the time. Weâll see if anyone does call back. Not impressed so far!

Disappointing Lack of Service
Today a friend and I visited Sycamore BMW garage in Peterborough. We were both genuinely interested in purchasing a Mini Countryman each but there was no acknowledgement of our presence! Eventually I had to ask for assistance as there was no customer service! Very disappointed with the lack of interest and consequently BMW have potentially lost at least £70k in sales!

Horrible car. Now nearly 8 yers old, but problems always with the communications, warnings and sat nav. For me, It's an uncomfortable driving seat, those so-called sports raised bar each side of the seat are irritatingly constant pressure (no, I'm not over weight).
Sat nav never accurate with voice activation. Generally negative no matter how many times destination is repeated.
Same with voice phone, invariably wrong number.
Worse of all, the warning system has repeatedly sent out false warnings, especially low tyre pressure.
Impossible to delete, constantly dominated anything on the screen.
Quoted £600 to repair as 'have to take the engine out to get at it'. Oh, Yes.So stuck with false warnings for years now.
WORSE!!! an SOS Emergency takes over, undeleteable, blocks out your mileage, can't tell how many miles car has done, trip mileage, temperature, time. Utterly hopeless.
Never disliked a car more in 60 years of driving. Not a patch on a Laguna or any other make. Sad eight years experience. Much prefer my wife's Alfa.

The service was carried out and was informed of a few minor things which I did not get done as the quote was ridiculous.
The service light was still active after the service had been carried out, I was then told the light is still there because the car requires vehicle check???

Re. Service Department at Vines BMW Crawley.
Through my business I leased a brand new (74 plate) BMW 530e through Vines BMW, Crawley. £80k worth of German engineering....
After about 9 months i noticed that the left hand side of the front bumper (as you look at it) had 'come away', as if the fixing(s) had failed. To all intents and puposes it looked like 'it was coming apart at the seams'.
I had NO knowledge or experience of any collision (I am the keeper and the sole driver of the car), there was NO visual evidence of a collision, and the car sensors had picked up NO history of any collision. Agreed by the dealership.
You would hope and to a large extent expect that at this level of purchase (and, considering the above), that Vines BMW, Crawley would take the car in and fix the issue, no quibble or charge.
But no! Under the veil of the car being in the workshop at Vines BMW, Crawley - they have conveniently 'created' so-called 'evidence' of a collision to charge me for screwing the car back together (don't forget, this is an £80k vehicle that had literally come apart at the seams). I was never given any video or photographic evidence of the 'created' collision damage.
Also, when a BMW 'falls apart at the seams', and is less than 9 months old from new - it's not covered under the manufacturers warrantly. Well, I'll be buggered.
The total bill to me was £276. It's not the money. It's the priciple of what great customer service should be. And, in the case of the Service Dept. at Vines BMW, Crawley - what archaic, BAD customer service still looks like in 2025.
For the sake of £276. I'm not getting another BMW. I'll put my next £100k into a car brand that genuinely cares for it's customers, and that doesn't seek out every opportunity to stiff it's customers for more money.
From today, over the lifetime of me leasing more vehicles? That's probably at least a 7 figure sum BMW have squandered, plus the reputational damage (£££) to the brand and the dealership of this review. Plus me telling dozens of people to steer clear of Vines, BMW Crawley, unseen £££ lost.

I am writing to express my absolute disappointment with BMW and to warn potential customers about my recent experience.
My BMW broke down without any warning lights, and within just five minutes it went up in flames. This was a terrifying experience that could easily have cost me my life.
I submitted two written complaints and received no meaningful response. It was only after repeatedly calling that I eventually spoke to Lucy Canavan, who offered nothing more than an apology and stated there was nothing she could do. I found this attitude completely unacceptable given the seriousness of the incident.
From my research, it appears that BMW vehicle fires are not isolated incidents, yet BMW seems unwilling to take accountability or address the issue in a way that prioritises customer safety.
My advice: Do not buy a BMW. The risk to your safety and the lack of proper customer care make it a brand I can no longer trust.
