Software problems Volvo agents can’t fix

Not surprised to learn Volvo are now near the bottom of the reliability tables. My two year old XC40 EV was great until it went in for it’s first service then after about a week gremlins got into the infotainment system which effected charging. After five weeks being repaired I’ve had the car back for ten days and now have a message on the display Ecall Service failure. All trust lost.

Experiencia muy frustrante con el taller de Volvo SYRSA Sevilla - Turismos La Raza.

He llamado en varias ocasiones y siempre dan la misma respuesta: que desde el taller me devolverán la llamada. Eso nunca ocurre.

Es prácticamente imposible hablar directamente con el taller, lo cual demuestra una falta total de organización y atención al cliente.

Como cliente, uno espera un mínimo de seguimiento, especialmente tratándose de una marca como Volvo. Sin embargo, la realidad está muy lejos de ese estándar.

Después de varios intentos sin respuesta, la sensación es de abandono total al cliente.

No lo recomendaría en absoluto mientras no mejoren su atención y comunicación.

Ich habe ein neues Volvo XC40. Nach 3 Monaten spÀter wurde der Keilriemen geriesen auf der Autobahn. Das Auto wurde abgeschlept und Ìber Garantie repariert. Nach 2 jahren spÀter bei 32000km Riemenspaner defekt. Macht GerÀuche im Motorraum. Da es Garanti 2 Monate abgelaufen ist, möchte Volvo es nicht Ìber Kulanz nicht repariren, obwohl es ein technisches Problem ist. Es ist ein Sicherheitsproblem, da es wieder der Keilriemen abreisen kann. Ich bin von einer Automarke wie Volvo sehr enttÀuscht, das Sie nicht Einsehen, das es ein technisches Problem ist.

Volvo Crawley / very poor “Service”

Volvo Crawley / very poor service! New upgrade 5:05.5 around but have been unable to install. Tried numerous times. Four unanswered
calls later (to Dealership) got through on 5 th attempt. Left message for a call back. Three HOURS later still no call. Had to visit the Dealership. No Reception staff - bell rang 4 times! Eventually someone surfaced & car having to be booked in for upgrade.

in questi anni la V40 ha avuto svariati problemi e richiami da parte della casa madre
la cose che mi preme di più sottolineare Ú la totale mancanza di una rete valida di assistenza
le officine sono poche e mai disponibili
per ogni intervento costi esorbitanti
non comprerò mai più Volvo non ne vale la pena sono auto come le altre vendute a prezzi maggiorati basati su un nome che attualmente non rispecchia più la qualità del marchio

Don't buy a Volvo product!

On October 1st 2025, the technician troubleshooting my cars issue informed me that the part needed to fix my car must be ordered (paid for in advance). It's been 24 weeks and Volvo has yet to deliver the part. Additionally, Volvo Sweden refuses to communicate with the repair shop in the USA. How long would you be okay with having a car in the shop?

Horrible Customer Service

Clearly, they are short on staff. My XC40 car parking brakes stopped working which is an emergency and my car is in warranty and these people are saying they can fix it after 1.5 months. They either do not pick up the phone at all to book the service or if they do they do not have staff to work on it. And it is not one off, it is a pattern.
It is same pattern at every service centre here in Sydney.
If someone ask me for the feedback for Volvo my straight answer will be no, just because of extremely poor service.

Worst Service

I purchased my XC60 T8 trusting the reliability of the Volvo brand. However, my vehicle (booking date: 03.02.2026) has been in the Volvo West London for five weeks, and no repair work has even started.

I contacted Volvo Cars UK customer services regarding this issue. The response I received was quite shocking. I was told that Volvo West London, although operating under the Volvo name, is an independent company, and therefore Volvo UK has no authority to intervene in this matter. I was advised to resolve the issue directly with the customer service or complaints department of Volvo West London.

If resolving the problem with them had been possible, why would I feel compelled to contact Volvo UK in the first place?

VOLVO CARWAGEN ENEKURI CARROCERIA

Llevé mi Volvo C70 a la sección de carrocería para reparar un golpe en la puerta delantera izquierda. Tras tres semanas, el coche me fue entregado sin revisar la reparación: la puerta sigue sin cerrar correctamente. No ofrecieron coche de sustitución, la comunicación fue deficiente y no cumplieron con un servicio acorde a un taller oficial Volvo.

He tenido que reclamar incluso la franquicia del seguro para que me la devolvieran. No recomiendo este taller para reparaciones de carrocería.

If I could give no stars I would, this will be my last Volvo purchase the customer service & servicing is sub standard. Trying to get through on the phone is a chore too. Tried to book a slot a month before my annual car service + MOT was due @ Derby Volvo but they could only give me an appt 4 days before the MOT expired which I wasn't happy about, however it has revealed just how bad they are. Two weeks before the service appt I was informed our stepson's wife's funeral 130 miles away would be on that day (a Thursday) so I immediately called to change my booking and was told as it was a minor service they could do it on the Saturday morning. But on the Tuesday before I received a text reminder for my original appt so called to ask what was going on? Was told there was no record of my new appt it wasn't on their system and the 1st available appt was in 4 wks! My car had only done 4000 miles since previous service/MOT so decided to (well no other option really) to get a MOT done whilst in Darlington & managed to get booked in on the Friday thinking it should breeze through. How wrong was I! It failed the MOT, both rear brake pads were illegal and we received an advisory not to drive it until resolved. The fronts were not much better + all brake discs needed replacing and the corrosion on two of them was horrendous. We had driven unknowingly all that way with dangerous brakes! How could that happen in a year/4000 miles? We weren't advised they were getting low at the previous service & would soon need replacing. Managed to get repairs done next day (Saturday) but couldn't get another MOT even though Kwik fit was brilliant they tried everywhere for us. They also told us some dealer garages don't bother removing any wheels to check them when servicing! We couldn't stay any longer & had to drive back wondering if we'd be stopped as we had no valid MOT on the vehicle although we had proof the repairs were completed but it's still a grey area. Car is now parked up awaiting another MOT on Monday. I might add that two years ago when the car was serviced at Derby Volvo it was damaged by whomever washed it on the front bumper which they did resolve but we had it redone properly last year! Once my service plan expires I'm done with this garage & will return to my local trusted mechanic!!!!

Falsche Empfehlungen und Nichteinhalten von Zusagen

Alle guten Dinge sind 3. Im Oktober hatten wir in der NÀhe von Zagreb eine Panne. XC60 wurde in die dortige Volvo Werkstatt eingeschleppt. Da es auf einem Freitag war, konnte nach dem Fehler nicht gesucht werden. Am Montag stand fest, dass die WSS links oben nicht richtig verklebt war. Volvo Köln hat empfohlen, den XC60 mit dem ADAC zum Volvo HÀndler nach Deutschland zu schleppen, der die Scheibe Ende 2024 neu eingebaut und verklebt hatte. Empfehlung kam von Volvo Köln. Heute erfahre ich von einem anderen Volvo HÀndler, dass die lebenslange Volvo Garantie fÃŒr Ersatzteile europaweit gilt. Ich hÀtte den Schaden auch in Zagreb reparieren lassen können. Ich bin sprachlos. Hat mir Volvo Köln nicht gesagt, im Gegenteil, man hat mir davon abgeraten, weil Volvo Zagreb Importeur ist und dort kein deutsches Recht gilt! Ich war ÃŒber 2 Monate ohne Auto. Mir wurde nur fÃŒr 6 Tage ein Leihwagen genehmigt. Hier hÀtte ich in Vorleistung treten mÃŒssen. Da mir von Volvo und der Assistance vieles zugesichert und versprochen wurde, aber letztendlich NICHT eingehalten wurde, habe ich hierauf lieber verzichtet. HÀtte ich bloß alles alleine organisiert. Ich bleibe auf einen Großteil meiner Kosten und Auslagen sitzen, da mir vieles versprochen und dann nicht eingehalten wurde. Von Volvo Köln heißt es lapidar, der Fall sei abgeschlossen und bei dem nÀchsten Problem darf ich mich dann gerne wieder melden. Volvo Köln wird keine Öffentlichkeitsarbeit-Abteilung haben, keiner von Volvo Köln liest die EintrÀge der frustrierten und allein gelassenen Autofahrer von Premium Kfz in diesem Forum. Ich bin sprachlos, enttÀuscht, wÃŒtend und traumatisiert.

DITEVO SINVERGÜENZAS . NO RECOMIENDO COMPRAR UN VEHICULO DE ESTA MARCA SERVICIO POSTVENTA INEXISTENTE. SE RÍEN DE TI UNA VEZ HAS COMPRADO EL VEHICULO

DITEVO GETAFE son unos impresentables y desde luego no volveré a llevarles mi vehículo para nada, ni revisiones, ni arañazos, ni golpes, nada.

Primero no atienden personas sino una máquina que no te pasa con nadie y al rato te cuelgan. Dicen que te van a llamar y es mentira. Llevo varios días así y ni caso.

Te llaman muy amablemente para decirte que te van a recoger el coche de forma gratuita. Luego te envían un mensaje que lo han recepcionado y a partir de ahí ya no vuelves a saber nada más. No te llaman pese a que dejas varios mensajes para saber el tiempo que van a tardar. Siempre atiende una máquina, todavía peor. En fin, unos sinvergÌenzas y me arrepiento de haber comprado un Volvo y encima en DITEVO porque el servicio postventa, no existe.

Lo denunciaré a consumo porque no me parece normal el trato ni el comportamiento poco transparente que están teniendo.

NIce cars but appalling customer service

I lease a Volvo EX30 electric car. It's a great car, Unfortunately the customer service support from Volvo is appalling. It demonstrates the absolute worst in faceless thoughtless computer-driven evasion of their duty of care to their customers.
Today I got a message from them saying that I needed to log intothe Volvo app. I tried, but it rejected my pasword and login repeatedly (I keep a file of these so I know they were correct). When I tried to change them I got stuck in a loop and was given 5 tries before being blocked. So I tried to contact Volvo by other means. I tried their UK phone number, chat service and Whastapp service - all were disconnected. So I went online and found a site which would apparently connect to them for £1 fee. But when I was asked to approve the transaction is was £35. Monthly. In perpituity. I called the lease company (Tusker) and asked them if they could let Volvo know of my problem. They said they could not do that.
I wouldscore their performance at 0 but your site doesnt allow it. Definitely looking to exchange my car ASAP for one from a company that can be bothered to talk to its customers. I strongly advise others to avoid Volvo like the plague

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Volvo.

One week ago, I purchased the OTA Pilot Assist feature through the official Volvo mobile app and paid £499 in full. The payment was taken immediately, but the feature is still not available in my vehicle and cannot be installed.

After contacting customer support, I was told that there may be a future software update for my car, and only after that update will Pilot Assist possibly become available. However, no one can provide a clear timeframe — not a day, not a week, not even an estimated month. I have essentially paid £499 for a product that I cannot use, with no clear delivery date.

What makes this worse is being advised to contact Volvo retailers, who charge for appointments and often have waiting times of one to two months. This is unreasonable, especially considering I purchased the feature directly from Volvo through their official app.

I expected much better service from a premium brand. Charging customers upfront for a digital product that cannot be delivered immediately — without transparency about availability — is unacceptable.

Very disappointing experience.

Volvo XC60 T8 - Die Qualitàt ist eine Katastrophe

Ich habe meinen Volvo XC60 T8, die Plug-in-Hybrid-Version, 2018 neu gekauft. In den ersten Jahren hatte ich ein paar kleinere Reparaturen, die jedoch alle durch Garantie oder RÃŒckrufe abgedeckt waren – zum Beispiel wurden die Gasfedern fÃŒr die Heckklappe und die Tankklappe ersetzt. Diese Arbeiten wurden im Rahmen der Routinewartung durchgefÃŒhrt, sodass sie weder Zeit noch Geld gekostet haben.
Aktuell zeigt mein KilometerzÀhler 220.000 km an, und in den letzten Jahren hatte ich eine stetige Reihe kostspieliger Reparaturen. Alles begann mit dem Elektromotor, der vollstÀndig ausgetauscht werden musste, obwohl ein Experte bestÀtigte, dass nur ein kleines internes Bauteil defekt war. Dennoch verweigerte Volvo die Reparatur und untersagte jedem Mechaniker, den Elektromotor zu öffnen. Der Austausch des gesamten Moduls kostete mich etwa 10000€. WÀhrend dieses Vorgangs wurde außerdem festgestellt, dass die Hinterachse und die Querlenker stark verrostet waren – einfach unglaublich fÃŒr ein schwedisches Auto. Ich ließ den Rost entfernen und die betroffenen Stellen versiegeln.
Anschließend musste der Katalysator aufgrund eines Risses ersetzt werden, spÀter auch das AbgaskrÃŒmmer-Modul und die Dichtung. Kosten Insgesamt. 3900 € Mehrere weitere kleinere Reparaturen waren ebenfalls erforderlich. Derzeit mÃŒsste ich die Batterie fÃŒr die Volvo On Call-Funktion ersetzen, eine separate Einheit, mit geschÀtzten Kosten von rund 400 €.
Ich fahre durchschnittlich 30.000 km pro Jahr und behalte meine Autos in der Regel 8–9 Jahre. Ich habe viele verschiedene Automarken gefahren, aber kein Fahrzeug hat jemals so viele Reparaturen erfordert wie mein Volvo. Außerdem war Volvos Weigerung, das Elektromodul zu reparieren, besonders frustrierend. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung wÃŒrde ich keinen weiteren Volvo kaufen, weder neu noch gebraucht.

Don’t use their recovery service

Think very carefully about buying a Volvo..terrible customer care when something goes wrong. It comes with Volvo assistance recovery who are basically Alliance insurance..nothing to do with Volvo. My branch said they caused an electrical fault when they towed my car there and refused to fix it..for 4 weeks of stress and inconvenience while they waited on Alliance to approve the repair.. Customer service absolutely useless
