Friendly and helpful assistance at Knock Airport.

I was not informed verbally at the point of collection in Shannon Airport that the vehicle was damaged. I therefore spent time, phone calls and much worry during my holiday because I noticed the damage subsequent to collection.
On return to Budget I was told by the inspector that the damage had been done previous to my use!
I won’t use Budget again. Ever!

Attention, carte de CREDIT uniquement.
Comme beaucoup de français, on s'est fait avoir. Ma conjointe avait réservé sur internet, au final on a payé le double (73€/jour pour une Fiat 500).
Attention, il font payer également un (très gros) plein de carburant (148€ pour une Fiat 500). Après avoir restitué la voiture avec le plein verifiez bien qu'il vous rembourse ce plein payé!
Le personnel est entre impoli et odieux. "Bonjour", "Au revoir", "Merci" et "Les sourires" ne sont pas en options chez Budget. C'est un des premiers et derniers contacts que vous aurez avec l'Irlande... 🙄

Grumpy staff at check in , insurance sold without asking the needed cover . Extra amount charged for insuring a small car . Staff not very welcoming to their potential customers on arrival . Sorry

Staff at Budget are courteous and freindly and a credit to the company. That's the reason I always rent from Budget on my frequent visits to Dublin.

Excellent service good value

We had to wait about one and a half hours to collect the car even though it was pre-booked. It was a busy day but they seemed to be in complete chaos not able to deal with the volume. Then the car we ordered was not available and we had to wait longer, then although they said we would be provided with what we ordered, we were given a manual and also not a Hydrid. Then we find, after we have no choice but to take the old manual petrol car with close to 100,000 km on the clock, that the engine maintenance light is on and the brake pedal is missing the rubber friction grip and hence v dangerous. This car was v difficult to drive around Ireland and stressful for us. All this drawn to their attention; they did call us - apologetic which was well received, but where is my credit and written response to my complaints?
Better to chose another reputable hire car company next time, even if it is more expensive!

Very friendly staff. No problems in picking up and returning the car. The Renault Clio was already 3 years old with several small scratches and dents. But I don't mind as long as it is reliable. And it was!

As a regular user I appreciate the prompt and efficient service. Very satisfied.

I hired a car from Knock airport recently and it was an excellent experience.

De auto dat we kregen bij aankomst voldeed niet aan de verwachtingen, de auto was kleiner dan geboekt en er was ook schade aan, en de banden waren niet op de juiste spanning. Personeel bij ophaling was onvriendelijk.
Ik heb in Ierland een kleine boete gereden, ik reed 10 km/u te snel waar 100km/u toegelaten was maar als je in Ierland nu 10km/u of 30km/u te rap rijd , de boete is altijd 160€ ! Maar bij deze verhuur bedrijf rekenen ze dan ook nog eens 30€ administratie kosten aan !! Dat is dus alles samen 190€ voor een kleine overtreding en dat is belachelijk & schandalig !

While I did fine that insurance was not included in original price , when I picked up they was explained by staff and I understood why , but think this should be included in booking along with fuel charge !

Collected the car to find it was not full, projected 540km and the indicator below the full line. I returned it full with projected 760km and the indicator above the full line. Photograph taken to prove this at the time. Feedback was given on return and via the customer feedback email. I am confident if I had not returned it full I would have been charged. I received an email apologising and stating appreciation about the professional and friendly staff at reception. I also received an apology and hopeful future use but no offer of partial refund. Very disappointing from Budget. We regularly visit Cork and I certainly won't be using Budget for the foreseeable. I've just booked car hire for May and then another trip in June with other car hire companies at Cork.
Having just received a reply from customer services I can confidently say I will never use Budget again, do yourself a favour and look at the negative experiences (of which there are plenty) of others before considering booking.

Booked through Booking.com for a rental with a clearly stated €1,700 security deposit would be required at the desk. Arrived at the Budget Rent a Car desk in Cork and was told the hold required was €2,649 (included a petrol deposit of €149) but when my card was declined because I didn’t have the extortionate increased deposit that they insisted were the rules, he then “reduced” to €2,149. It was literally a ‘pay up or get lost’ approach at a public desk.

When I insisted this was not appropriate, and that a contract is a contract I was told “Booking.com got it wrong” — as if that was somehow the (my) customer’s problem after travelling in reliance on the booking terms they supplied to Booking.com

It was humiliating standing at the desk effectively having to justify my available credit while under pressure not to lose the car and the holiday. An hour wasted, significant embarrassment, and a deeply uncomfortable “accept worse terms or else” experience.

Even more concerning, the vehicle supplied had pre-existing condition issues and warning concerns.

My warning to others:
- Take screenshots of every deposit term before you travel, and stand your ground at that desk, if it’s booking.com get them on the telephone and have them speak to the person at the desk. It’s an issue between them and not your problem.
- Check your card alerts in real time. Consider informing your credit card provider that you’ve been forced into paying a higher deposit than lawfully agreed at collection, and that you’ve dispute this because you were pressured with consequences at that desk.
- Photograph the car before leaving the airport, video even better.
- Challenge anything inconsistent at the desk.

A security deposit is one thing. Being confronted with materially different demands at collection and made to feel trapped is another.

The service was efficient and the quality of the car was great for the price . I would highly recommend Budget Car Rental at Dublin Airport.

The staff was great at the Budget in Galway while I was in person. I had a flat tire on my trip and I paid for it with a debit card. I gave Budget my receipt when I returned and was expecting a refund.

They told me they sent the refund to the credit card I had on file (different than the debit I paid for the flat tire with). The 266 euro never came through, and my credit card company won't dispute it because the original charge was on another card, so I guess there's nothing really to dispute.

Seems I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and out a lot of money I shouldn't be, with spotty email responses from Budget staff that don't seem to grasp the situation I am in. Disappointing and disrespectful, since I liked the people I met in person and am now unrightfully out this money.
