The worst busservice i have ever seen in any country. Absolutely abysmal. I take the 95 bus everyday from Llandough area. And everyday and I mean EVERYDAY. The bus is between 15 minutes all up to an hour late. What am i paying for?

My iff card is has gone faulty contacted sloper road and they confirmed I was in credit and to show bus drivers my receipt ticket,the drivers will not accept ticket saying they have been instructed not to accept ticket if does not match the faulty card and wait until a new card arrives,in the meantime Cardiff bus won't refund me as I had to pay fare in cash, suspicious or what?

Buses are so unreliable even google maps can’t save you from reaching your destination an hour late. The “Cardiff Bus” app is also unreliable as it says the bus will be coming but waited 10 minutes and the bus was not there as stated. Walked around 15 minutes to the next stop suggested in the app just to be told that the stop was CLOSED.

They never stop on busstop.They look in the sky and drive,worst drivers worst service and never on time.

One of the worst travel service i’ve encountered. Buses turn up late or not at all, couldn’t tell you the amount of times i’ve had to walk 45 mins home or spend extra just get a taxi. Always have problems with 1 service from Ely

45 was 5 minutes late I followed the bus in the tracker and it sat at the bus stop for 10minutes. I asked the driver and he just shook his head

The worst public transport company I have ever encountered. Ignore all timetables as they arrive when they feel like it!
For a capital city transport organisation, it's a shambles, and whoever manages this service needs replacing with people who are competent.
Cardiff has unfortunately become a 3rd class city with transport services to match!!!!

this has happened every single time over the last 2 years i’ve been coming here. i go to llanederyn to drop my girlfriend off when it’s dark and then wait at wellwood to get the bus back into town. almost EVERY SINGLE TIME the lazy bus drivers look at me and just drive on like i’m not even there. it’s not like i’m hard to see. i’m standing in front of the bus stop with my arm out and they just ignore me because they can’t be bothered to stop. it’s a joke

Without doubt the worst bus company I have had the misfortune to HAVE to use, trust me if I had a choice not to use them I would be delighted not too. No shows,
late, bad service, rude drivers. If Cardiff Bus and the Council think this an acceptable service for a capital city and they are trying to get people out of their cars GOOD LUCK with that. Absolute joke.

We’ve been waiting for ages, each 8/9 bus go past and say they are not in service. Been waiting for more than a hour

Worst bus company which I ever use, always late, sometimes don’t come at all. LAST!!! bus did not come, had walk all way back to home, which was 10 miles.

If I could put zero stars I would. Absolutely awful service! It's a miracle whenever a bus actually shows up and if it does it's almost always 20 minutes late or way too early causing you to miss it. It NEVER knows how to keep to a schedule. Other much more busy cities have fine bus services which collect passengers in time so why not cardiff bus?? There is never any inspectors ever, and they dont seem to do any background checks in their drivers cos most of them are the rudest people I have ever met. Swearing at passengers refusing to allow you on the bus because they dont like "the look of you". And you can almost never get any compensation because Cardiff bus makes it impossible to file a complaint and when you do it's never taken seriously. I have no choice but to take cardiff bus for a route to school and even though I enter the bus around 7:15 because of the awful amount of delays and bus cancellations I usually dont get to school until around 9:30. This isn't even the tip of the iceberg but if I listed all my complaints I would write an entire novel. Sort yourself out!! This type of service is unacceptable which is why only people who have no ther choice take thos dreaded bus service.

Buses constantly late. You never ever see an inspector get on a bus anymore.
Haven't seen one for about 25 years.
Time keeping used to be very strict but now nobody seems to care.
Waited yesterday 6th September for a number 28 in Albany road. ( 30 min service). 3 number 28 buses failed to show up. Eventually gave up the wait.
Absolutely disgusting service!

The amount of times these buses dont turn up is a joke. One bus driver said, when asked, that when they are short of drivers they just miss out buses! (With no changes to the app times). Other times buses just turn around randomly and go back the other way, not completing their full journeys end to end. Sort out your timetables if you are so frequently short of drivers, so people arent waiting hours for a bus that isnt coming!

We bought 2 return tickets from Ceppa Park to Cardiff. Bus came in on time. Brilliant. On our return we went for the 1.45pm. Ran to catch it and was then informed by the driver that he could not take us. The ticket was for Cardiff Bus and this was a Newport Bus! The next bus at 2.15 was also a Newport Bus so we had to hang around for an hour before a Cardiff Bus took us back. The only good thing was that the weather was good and we were not in a hurry. The driver said that it should be reciprocal and that the original driver should not have turfed us off. Please Cardiff and Newport get your act together. This was a ridiculous state of affairs.

Rude drivers, skip your bus stop, who don't hear the bell or say I didn't press the bell and I point out the light bell is on, so ignorant and rude.

The timetable is just decoration and serves no purpose as buses rarely arrive on schedule or not at all. Not enough disabled seats or spaces for family's with strollers.

The longest I and other passengers had to wait was 3 and a half hours outside of Cardiff met Llandaff, over 100+ members of the public students and staff waiting for hours as bus after bus flew by people were phoning up, it was a nightmare and this happens regularly, don't believe me go see for yourself, it's a disgrace.

After I stopped using the buses, only taxis or cycling now, but even whiles out cycling in a cycle lane I was hit by a bus turning through a cycle lane whiles I was parked up, then he drove off, other drivers were amazed and beeping horns at the bus.

This is zero review. Cardiff bus is not fit for purpose. Coming out of the international swimming pool with a child after their swim and only for the bus we waiting 13 minutes for not to turn up,infact it did but was out of service. This happens over and over again. It's all good wanting clean air and keeping cars off the road but there is no alternative here and if you cant drive then you can spend hours waiting for a bus. We need another form of public transport in this city and fast.

As a student studying a healthcare course, who needs to catch a bus to get to placements for shifts starting at 7 am, the buses are never on time and I end up being late.

I catch the number 27 bus 5 days a week. For the last month every morning it has been late. The bus being late everyday I can only put down to poor timekeeping on the part of the bus drivers.

I wait for the number 27 on Kingsway and the stop before that is the FIRST stop! So, the lateness can't be blamed on congestion due to the bus being 2 minutes from the first stop to Kingsway, or time wasted from passengers when there are no more than 2 passengers on the bus when it decides to arrive at Kingsway. It's either the bus drivers don't care or they can't manage to get up in the morning and get to work on time!

For the sake of fairness I have, since using the number 27, had a few uninterrupted journeys and there have been a few bus drivers who have been very friendly.

However, rude drivers are not only limited to the number 27 as I have used various lines and most of the drivers have been utterly despicable in their attitudes. Which I'm pretty sure they'd just grin or ignore if ever told because they seem to be the type to not care at all because clearly due to the management of Cardiff bus and how the service simply ignores criticism it's no doubt that a precedent has been set for the rest of the employees. A precedent I predict is now drowning their management to the point of inaction.

This is only the tip of the iceberg for what's wrong with this service.

I have been a witness to the most horrid treatment toward other passengers by other passengers and the bus drivers have simply sat back and allowed this chaos to continue.

Some of these bus drivers have the attitude of Gods amongst men but when it comes to taking responsibility for the order on their own buses they shrivel like a wet flannel and allow the passengers to continue their altercations. Some are complete cowards!

This is all without mentioning how they break the law on a daily basis by allowing more passengers on the bus than which is allowed by COVID laws and social distancing regulations. I have witnessed many times how bus drivers have allowed a passenger to board and the passenger has been unable to find a seat so has had to stand, but then is shouted at by the bus driver to sit down. Clearly there is no logic or reason with these bus drivers.

That's without mentioning what has now been mentioned many times by other reviews of the flagrant disregard of ensuring all passengers are wearing their masks not just for their own safety but for the safety of others.

Before you think of using the excuse of the vaccine rollout - getting the vaccine and being completely protected from the virus does not stop you getting the virus and passing it on.
One passenger using a bus could still be waiting to receive their second jab and then if that person is in a vulnerable category they could be infected with the virus which has a high potential of killing them.
Not only that if they are in a vulnerable category and get the virus they will then have to be sent to hospital putting more pressure on the NHS than they can already deal with.

Do these bus drivers not care about the consequences of not following these regulations. Do they not realise that allowing this sort of behaviour on their buses they are setting a precedent and creating more work for other services. Do they not have any responsibility?

The bus service is free for the elderly. I would have thought, being brought up well, that the bus drivers would have far more respect for their elderly passengers by ensuring that everyone wears a mask.
What if those elderly passengers catch COVID while on one of your buses, which are at their best disgusting and unclean.

It is completely immoral and unethical the attitude toward this virus from some of these bus drivers. I don't care what their personal opinions are on the virus, those personal opinions should be left at the door to their work and they should have the capacity and maturity to compartmentalise their personal opinions from their professional duty and the rules set in place for the protection of everyone in society.

I have seen bus drivers care and complain more about the ticket machine than the hygienic state of their buses. It's unbelievable.

I don't see how Cardiff Bus as a service can justify the amount of negative reviews they receive.
I won't hold my breath to see if this review is ever actioned because how it looks from this site Cardiff Bus is completely comfortable ignoring all opportunities to learn and develop their service.

It should be time for a shake up considering the local Councils have paid 13.6 million to bail out this service. Using taxpayers money for something which seems completely comfortable being less than mediocre and comfortable employing bandit bus drivers who are nothing more than glorified cowboys.
