Awful experience. A massive series of buses not turning up or turning up early, so it is completely impossible to plan your life around the buses. They are inconsistent in whether they will allow dogs or not. I have ended up stranded with my dog having to wait over an hour for the next bus (that does not always show up). I would rather they consistently say no to dogs than be so inconsistent, so I can plan. The service on the bus is so bad that I went and bought a car just so I can get around Cardiff after a year of dealing with all of their rubbish. Shockingly bad service!

I usually cycle to work but when the weather is bad, it's in my best interest to have a bit of cover so I occasionally opt for the bus.

I've taken the bus 2 days this week, one day the bus didn't turn up so I took the next one that arrived to its destination 8 minutes late making me turn up to work just on time.

Last night a bus turned up 5 minutes early this ticker and the app said 5 mins) so I wanted 20 minutes for the next one to turn up on time.

Now I'm stodd on a single Decker 61 at 08:10, which arrived 3 minutes late during school rush hour, stood at the front because I can't physically get to the back.

Its gotten worse, I've now.mamaged to get to the back, still.at Thompsons Park and my.bus is due at Westgate Street in 2 minutes.

This service is a shambles since they've been using agency staff to run it. I wish I didn't have to take this service but this is why I make every effort to cycle into work

I travelled into Cardiff on the 94 to connect with the 11.05 number 32 to St Fagans. Due to faulty traffic signals it was severely delayed, and I saw that 32 depart as I waited till get off the 94. It is only an hourly service, so I went for coffee and returned to the stop at 12. I used the ALLEDGED 'live' tracker to follow the 32 on its was in to Wood St... at 12.20 the bus arrived 'out of service' and drove off again... If I'd waited another 50 minutes for the next bus at 1.05 it wouldn't be worth the trip so I went home... Disappointed and disgusted!

Absolutely disgusting. Bus service? They couldn't operate a children's ride at a fairground! If they can't provide a decent service on routes then give them to another bus company. Where are the discounts for people who pay weekly or monthly and are not receiving the benefits of a bus service? The drivers have a major attitude problem and what they say and the way they speak to customers is inexcusable. It's about time the fleet of ancient vehicles were updated! 15/16 year old buses still in operation!! The app is a waste of time too. Modern technology at it's worst. Totally unreliable app.

This must be the worst bus service in the world. I have never seen anything worse. In 3 weeks time, not a single bus was on time. The app will say that the bus is 5 minutes away then it gets skipped and have to wait for another sometimes 2 other buses. What are we paying for? This abysmal bus service should be free to compensate for this garbage service

Absolute joke of a service.
Buses regularly don't turn up and when they do they are full.

I used cardiff buses atleast 10 times a week, about 2 of them times things are as they should be no problems, every other time the bus just don’t turn up. When you contact cardiff buses they say it’s driver shortages etc, but they have a LIVE app, if you know that bus isn’t active why it is still on the LIVE app telling me it’s 2 mins away…..

When the bus does turn up often enough you have a driver ragging the bus up the street you’re struggling to even stay in your seat.

There is nothing I hate more than cardiff buses it’s the worse public transport I’ve ever used im not sure how it could possibly get worse

I purchased a ticket on my mobile phone, I tried to get a bus. The bus never arrived, I had to walk in the snow and ice. I won't bother with Cardiff buses again. They're not reliable, if you have an appointment or work you can't use the bus. It's disgraceful, Cardiff is a capital city but you feel like it's a hillbilly village the way things are run. The traffic and pollution is bad in Cardiff, but the Welsh Assembly are clueless and useless.

I have been a tourist for 3 days in Cardiff... the city is terrible. There are no trams, no trains, no clear bicycle paths. We only have the option of Cardiff Bus. Instead of being reliable, the "Cardiff Bus" buses are very few. Each bus comes every 30 minutes - 1,5 hours. Not only that. They come as they please. There is a timetable, but the buses don't arrive on time. Normally if the bus is late, the arrival time update is affiliated with google maps. But they were NOT affiliated with google maps at all. During my 3 days in Cardiff I only walked and walked and walked. The 3-day ticket of 11 GBP that I had bought was no use. Even more terrible, I was once splashed by roadside water by one of their bus drivers.

Dreadful kept saying 8 minutes then down to 4 then back to 10 minutes then added another hour after a no show, it was raining very heavy and freezing cold, after waiting over an hour soaking wet as the bus stop was full so stood in the rain I ended up getting a taxi.
I wasted my money on a ticket never used.
Never again.

have stayed around the uk i can honestly say Cardiff bus is the worst ever i drive to work an i can't rely on Cardiff bus, got a bus home after watching Cardiff rugby on recently ended up waiting over 2 hours in the cold after the first bus arrived 30 minutes late and full so wouldn't let any one on, the second bus was 20 minutes late then just never arrived the 3rd bus i assume was cancelled as it disappeared off the screen the fourth bus eventually arrived and that was 20 minutes late just to make the situation worse i must have seen 6 or 7 C1 service bus go past all empty how is this good business the stop i was on fore St mellons was full of passengers,.

Where do I even begin? Living in Cardiff without owning a car is at this point nearly impossible with this joke of a company.

I’ve had to cut down my days at work because I’ve been suffering with a chest infection for several weeks now caused by waiting hours on end every day in the freezing cold on bus stops for buses that simply do not come.

So many times I’ve rushed out of work early at 6.45pm to get the 6.50pm bus. Of course, that doesn’t come. Okay, I’ll get the 7.05pm bus, no biggie. Of course that doesn’t come. Fine, 7.20pm bus it is. Oh wait, that doesn’t come either. Okay, 7.35pm then, only 15 minutes more. Nope. 7.50pm? Nope. Oh but the 8.05pm has finally come. Whoop-dee-f***ing-doo.

Give me just one moment for the circulation in my fingers to come back so I can pull my ticket out and pile onto an already full bus with the other 45 people now waiting at my bus stop.

And this happens every single week without fail.

I don’t actually care if buses get cancelled, so long as they inform us. But no, they just string us along and along and along with the promise of “only 15 more minutes, we swear” and we wait and wait and wait and freeze half to death.

If they just informed us that 5 of the next 6 buses are being cancelled then fine, we could make other arrangements, go sit somewhere warm and have a coffee, book a taxi, organise a lift, or heck, even walk home, it’s faster, and at least we can keep our circulation going. 9 times out of 10 you probably can get to where you need to go quicker by walking. What a joke.

But no, they won’t let us know that buses have been cancelled, they’d rather us freeze on their poxy un-sheltered bus stops waiting for Schroedingers Bus to show up.

Living and working in this city has become almost impossible, and I am having serious health consequences as a result of this company’s sheer incompetence.

It’s about time this company closed down and let someone else take up the contract. Utterly, hopelessly useless. Shame I can’t give 0 stars.

deserves a zero rating, absolutely awful. Can take me 2 hours to get home, (8 minute car journey), can’t afford parking my car daily and taxis extortionate so my only option is to freeze in a bus shelter for hours on end.

How many times do I need to wait for a bus to find they never turn up! Why the council are subsidising this service is a disgrace. Absolute joke. Oh yeah, great way to encourage people to drive less too

I'd give a zero if it would of let me don't bother with the company go with the 132 stagecoach that's the better company, cardiff bus will see u by the door look you dead in the eye and just drive off or sometimes to keep u on your toes just won't turn up at all

Once again cardiff buses u into done yourself its a typical Saturday hospital bus service sorry all buses are late dye to rugby, REALLY I asked but the NAT buses are running through and the stage coach but let's face it your service is crap all through the week and u never respond to reviews or emails do you, what a waste of time you really are also why don't you top payed pen pushers get behind the wheel and do a job that benefits your community you lazy twits

I haven't got an awful lot of faith in the Cardiff Bus service, nowadays, but after waiting for a number 8, scheduled 22.08pm - arriving 22.20pm, this evening, outside the Millenium Centre, just want to say what a lovely driver we had, friendly and cheerful, makes a pleasant change.

I just caught the 44 from Cardiff town to StMellons police station and the bus was on time both ends. I wanted to just leave a lovely comment to the amazing gentleman who was driving bus number 419 that arrived at stmellons at 14:58. He was so patient with this one older gentleman in Particular who was obviously very drunk and then get aggressive with the driver. The driver was nothing but a saint and had complete patience and the sort of service you would least expect after what the drunken man had been screaming! I hope the company can read this to the driver and let him know that he is making a difference just by being himself, sir you were amazing the whole journey and your humour and interactions with passengers has made a lot of peoples day!

I wrote a complaint to Cardiff bus. Took them almost a month to get back to me. Standard not enough drivers. But should see an improvement. Well here I am waiting for a St Mellons bus. Due to arrive at 8.08 pm and now is 8.32pm. Absolutely shocking service. I can’t believe we are heading into winter and people will be stranded in all weathers. Oh yes and I notice Cardiff bus never reply to these reviews. Why would you leave your car at home!!!
