ATTENTION ! Cet organisme rattaché à Europcar est une arnaque sans nom.
En effet, les locations paraissent légèrement en dessous du marché mais vous vous retrouvez sur place à payer le double !
Ils demandent une carte de "crédit" et non de "débit" et nous, français n'avons pas ce genre de carte, sachant que les carte Revolut et N26 ne sont pas autorisées (évidemment).
Ils nous obligent donc à prendre une assurance pour que notre carte bancaire puisse passer (pourquoi fonctionne t-elle avec une assurance en plus ? On se le demande...)

Le véhicule était très bien, propre et spacieux. L'employé de chez Europcar très sympa.
Il ne s'est pas retenu de nous dire "Vous verrez, quand vous verrais le véhicule, vous me remercierez"
Bien sûr ! Après avoir payé le double, on espérait bien avoir un véhicule un minimum agréable. Un grand merci surtout !

If I could give them zero stars I would. This company is a total rip-off - please DO NOT book with them. My $54.83 rental turned into a $157.00 rental and the car that we received was a death trap. Check Engine light comes on as we are driving down the highway and when my husband goes to stop - guess what - NO BRAKES. Metal to metal. Called the next day and told them to come get the car and wanted a full refund and they told us no and that we would have to drive it back. Once my husband told them that he was calling the Sheriff did they agree to at least replace the car. After waiting hours for them to arrive (they were supposed to bring a car on a flatbed), someone arrived with another car and, after telling them how bad the car was, they drove it back to the airport (2 hours) anyway. All the extra charges to my account are ridiculous. I booked this company through the Hopper app and will never, ever do that again. Stick to the bigger companies and pay the extra money. Well worth it. I've learned my lesson.

He querido alquilar un coche . He perdido el tiempo porque hacía click en la fecha que yo quería pero no se aplicaba y al dar le buscar me devia que elija fecha y así 4 veces hasta que decidí hacer lo con otra web. O sea un cliente perdido por qué no son capaces de hacer que la web funcione como tal

SCAMMERS. Booked a car, didn’t receive a confirmation email but instead an email asking me to confirm my booking, which I did. I then received 2 confirmation emails and had been charge twice. Sent an email that day which was 7 weeks ago, despite several emails chasing the matter no one has replied. No option to cancel on the website and no phone number.

Terrible experience from what feels like a company trying to scam you through processes that they quote but don’t follow (I have photographic proof of that), ridiculously complicated collection process, old cars (just pick one up with 70k km on the clock and it stinks inside, covered in scratches outside), questionable ethics and honesty when it come to returns (again I have proof of this) and a history of changing terms on a rental without informing the client until you arrive at the airport and spend 2 hours trying to fix their mess. I generally don’t write reviews but these guys are dishonest, disorganised and lack any semblance of customer service. The issues appear to originate in their back office rather than the people at front desk that have deal with the upset clients. 2 of the front desk staff I felt with were exceptionally good the rest were dismissive and down right rude.

I rented a car through Carhire/Europcar Ireland on 15/10-2021 to 23/10-2021. We returned the car with full tank. The employee handed out a return receipt stating that the rental car was returned with a full tank.
On 27/10-21, Europcar withdrawed EUR 55.53 from my bankaccount. We were not informed of the withdrawal, but discovered it ourselves.
We wrote an email which was answered with the agrument that the car was not returned with a full tank. In the email, Europcar had edited the original receipt so it appeared that the car was only 5/8 full.
Europcar will not refund our 55,53 EUR.

OK Mobility at Palma Airport, Majorca
New office hidden away in Arrivals block. Not given any paperwork. Took lots of photos after previous problem with other firm. Could not leave carpark as all four barriers would not lift. Help buzzer on exit would not work. Had to run back to office to get help. Pleasant man came with me and to our relief it would not open for him. We left an hour later than expected. On return after holiday we left with plenty of time in case of problems and found the car park with great difficulty after having to ask the Hertz rep. Car was not checked only petrol level. Most unsatisfactory all round

Attention arnaque : je loue par internet une voiture pour mon voyage en Irlande (par le biais de l'achat des billets d'avion avec Ryanair) : je suis débité des frais de location (275€ pour 5 jours), tout se passe correctement, 1 mois et demi après être rentré, je suis débité de 160€ sans message associé : je suis victime de l'arnaque décrite plus haut dû au fait qu'ils se permettent de prélever des frais supplémentaires (décalés bien sûr) parce que j'ai réglé avec ma Visa qui est une carte de débit et non une carte de crédit.
Une vraie escroquerie!
Absolument prendre des "marques" pour louer des voitures avec internet (hertz, avis, budget), c'est mon conseil...

Had the misfortune to book a car hire with this lot via the Ryanair website. Tried to alter the arrival time from 10:00 to 20:00 hrs on same day but was unable to do so online or via unanswered telephone or via Chat or via emails. On fear of not having a hire car on arrival I cancelled the two week booking and they retained £125 even though I tried every means to contact them. Conartists posing as car hire but unbelievably recommended by Ryanair

If you are intending on hiring a car from this company I would strongly recommend that you photograph or video evidence the whole of the car thoroughly prior to driving it away paying particular attention to the tyres & the windscreen , and any tiny chips in the paintwork on areas that are subject to regular chips in the paint . The reason being that if you get to the other end of the journey they are very likely to 'discover' something that isn't easily obvious to the naked eye from a normal inspection & then present you with a huge repair bill . If you try to challenge it they will ignore your pleas of reasonable argument & immediately start sending letters from a debt collection agency (which is part of their company) . I have had three bad experiences with this company , from a total of five hirings. I've used plenty of vehicle hire companies over the years & never had anything but good experiences , but Europcar are something else. I would recommend any car hire company to use before these , in fact if they were the only ones , then I would rather not bother , and take any form of public transport available or hitch hike

Car rental for 9 euros per day is about as cheap as it comes and for that cost we didnt expect perfection. That said the two cars we hired were only 2 years old and in good condition, just right for driving around on holiday for a week. Shuttle bus dropped us to europcar car park 10 mins from airport and we picked up cars without issue. If you don't purchase their expensive excess waiver they need a 1500 euro hold on your credit card but they didn't charge the card and drop off was smooth. No real wait time for collection or return and staff were friendly and polite at Dublin airport. Can't understand all the negative reviews here, perhaps we were fortunate or used them during quiet season.

Neither of us actually got the class of car we hired as they weren't available, we ended up with larger cars which was fine. They seem to like French cars and one of them seem to have a dodgy fuel gauge so had to show the fuel receipt to show we had actually filled it to the top when returning the car.

Nothing really to complain about and would probably used them again if on a budget

I had a family funeral in Ireland which Ryan air made into a trip from hell. I had booked the car in the wrong name and missed the pick up time thanks to ryan air. The customer service girl Saoirse was the first person who showed any sort of compassion towards the plight I found myself in. Despite never wanting to use ryan air again , I would happily use car hire.ie . Good customer service goes along way to customer retention.

Aluguei um carro em Aqaba e ao chegar na Avis de Aqaba, a empresa não tinha carro disponivel e a Holiday Auto me cobrou integralmente pela "locação".

Abri uma reclamação, que me foi dado um prazo de 20 dias uteis para resolver, que de inicio já achei um absurdo, e mesmo assim esperei 30 dias e ainda não obtive nenhum feedback.

Tentei entrar em contato com o suporte e eles não tem posição alguma.

Le site de location carhire.ie est une arnaque à touristes.

Ils expliquent dans leur conditions genérales qu'ils prennent les paiements avec VISA, puis qu'il faut que la carte soit une carte de credit, pour le paiement de la réservation sur leur site, et le paiement du solde en agence.

Le mot carte de credit étant largement utilisé en France pour désigner une VISA ou MasterCard, la carte est pour la plupart des Français en fait une carte de débit et pas de crédit. Je ne le savais pas et peu de gens le savent.

Le site carhire.ie a donc accepté que je paye la réservation de 326 euros avec ma VISA (carte de débit donc) bien qu'ils indiquent sur leur site que le paiement ne sera accepté que s'il en fait avec une carte de crédit.

Arriver à l'agence Europcar, le personnel détecte qu'il s'agit d'une carte de débit et vous annonce des frais d'assurance de 26 euros par jour lié au fait que vous ne payez pas par carte de crédit. Pour 12 jours ça fait une surfacturation de 312 euros.

Evidement le contrat de réservation de carhire.ie stipule qu'aucun remboursement ne sera pris en compte si la réservation est annulée dans les dernières 24 h.

A l'agence europcar vous êtes donc pris au piège : annuler la location et perdre votre réservation (326 euros pour ma part), ou prendre leur assurance (+312 euros à ma facture).

C'est une arnaque, carhire.ie indique "Payment must be made with a credit card as we do not accept other forms of payment" mais ne respecte pas ses conditions ses propres conditions générales, et vous coince ensuite à l'agence de location en vous empêchant d'annuler la location.

S'agissant d'autorisation Internet faites avec votre consentement votre banque ne fera rien pour vous.

Je vous invite donc à être très prudent avant de réserver avec ce loueur.

J'ai écrit au service client de carhire.ie (qui renvoi comme par hasard sur celui d'europcar) : pas de réponse.

Bad ! A fuir.
Frais supplémentaires à la dernière minute et impossibilité de se faire rembourser.

Absolute scammers, I confirm what the other reviewers are saying. Rented a Hyunday i10 for just one day from Dublin City Centre office on the 30th of June, drove only 143km on paved roads, when I return the car the attendant (who probably is instructed so by the bosses) notices a Front DS Alloy wheel (a tiny scratch on edge of the alloy of 6cm) which could have been a small stone or it could have been there when I took the car but I just could not notice since I am usually very careful on these things. Fine, I accepted the damage and the attendant told me that within 5 to 10 business days they were going to send me a damage assessment report, in the mean time they slapped a massive 500eur charge on my credit card for "compensation for damage" for just a 6cm alloy scratch.
Since they are a Europcar brand I chase Europecar Ireland three times on the phone during the month of July with no results (they actually told me that the damage assessment centre cannot be contacted directly). Tired on the 26th of July I finally ask the attendant to give me an email address where I could send a complaint and request for resolution (customerservices at europcar dot ie). I sent an email telling them that since they debited without providing any proof of the cost of the damage I was going to take legal means to recover my money against Europcar, same day the assistant manager of the Dublin City Center office finally sends an assessment report made on the same day by Crofton Motors in Dublin where somehow instead of just buying a brand new Genuine Wheel Trim For Hyundai i10 (sold in the UK for 50-70 eur equivalent) + half an hour labour at 24 eur, they decide to restore and repaint the Wheel Trim for the whopping cost of 200 eur! Total including VAT 258,39 EUR, instead of a brand new trim (including labour) for approximately 100 EUR max. Then I ask the manager to reimbourse the extra money charged 26 days earlier into my current account, since they took so much time that the credit card balance has already been debited to my current account. Manager did not even answer (he read the email), so now I have an almost 250 eur credit in my credit card balance which I only use for car rentals and in order to put it back into my account my bank wants a 3.9% commission!

Also I seriously doubt they have repaired the Wheel Trim, I am still waiting for a photo of the repaired wheel Trim.

AVOID CARHIRE.IE AND AVOID EUROPCAR IRELAND, they are obviously there to scam their clients, they advertise low prices, but then they try to overcharge with any trick possible and delay to the max any possible reimbursement due.

At the end of the day there is no damage assessment department on the side of Europcar (just lies from the telephone attendants trying to fob clients off), it is the same office where you rented the car that is responsible for the damage assessment, they are the ones responsible and Dublin City centre service is absolustely abysmal at that (they are just very efficient at overcharging!)

Complete scam, twice in three weeks, it would seem if you don’t take extra insurance they will charge you for old dents or scrapes I photographed damage I was supposed to have done and it’s clearly not fresh, however their department not interested

I have used them for a few years but never in peak season can only conclude it’s a summer scam when cars are being turned around very quickly

Rented a car though Gold Car Thessolonki. They took £1,471 deposit and returned only £839. When contacted them they claimed there was damage and a piece from the boot missing. Completely made up. Be very careful as they will take money from you after the have told you that there is nothing to pay and all is good. Avoid or be aware that you may well be well and truly ripped off.

Utter scam. Had a rental booked online without insurance for 140 euros. Because they won't accept amex ended up having to pay three times that for the same rental. And I was not the only person being out through the wringer at the desk about paying more than I had arranged for. Pure misery with a slick salesman at the counter who acted like he was helping me as he screwed me over
