Our daughter lacked belief in her ability when it came to maths. Her confidence was low, and at the first sign of difficulty, the “I can’t do this” wall was up.

At the beginning of GCSE year we found Chalkboard Tuition, and Debra, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made.

Debra clearly knows her stuff and has years of experience, but what truly made the difference was the trust, patience, and genuine relationship she built with our daughter.

We noticed approaching the mocks she wasn’t as panicked as she usually would be. By the time the final exams came round the difference in her confidence was incredible, replacing doubt with self belief, she was so calm, prepared, and ready to face those papers head‑on.

We don’t have the results yet, but honestly, just seeing how she went into the exams with so much confidence and having that feeling of knowing she’s done the best she could was enough for us and that confidence came directly from Debra’s support and we can’t thank her enough.

Asking our daughter how much it helped having the sessions with Debra, her reply was ‘you have no idea, I couldn’t have done it without her’, she even said she’ll miss her sessions, which to me speaks volumes.

We would highly recommend Chalkboard Tuition and Debra to anyone who needs help with maths or simply that extra boost of self-belief. She is amazing.

We’ve had a really great experience with Chalkboard Tuition, and in particular with Julia.

The progress our daughter has made in the run-up to her SATs has been brilliant - not just in terms of her understanding, but her confidence as well. She’s gone from being a bit unsure of herself to much more comfortable and engaged, which has been great to see.

Julia has been fantastic throughout. She somehow managed to get our daughter to actually look forward to her sessions each week (which says a lot in itself!). It’s clear she knows exactly what she’s doing and how to get the best out of her students.

The whole process with Chalkboard has been smooth and professional from start to finish as well.

We’ll definitely be back in touch if we need extra support as she moves into secondary school, and will be looking to do the same for our son in a few years 🙂

Kaya had outstanding learning experience with Sophie, who always made her feel comfortable and created positive learning environment. Debra has worked with both my daughters providing excellent math GSCSE results, timely easy to communicate with, punctual with lesson timing and attentive to how the kids are progressing. i highly recommend her and wish more kids were fortunate to have her guidance

Debra started working with my daughter in the run up to her GCSE's. She lacked confidence across the maths curriculum and was worried about the approaching exams. Debra was a God send! Her sessions were interesting and fun and my daughter really enjoyed her weekly tuition. The sessions helped her to find that confidence,understand what was going to be on each paper and how to approach the questions. She went into the exam period in a much better place, thanks to all the work Debra put in with her. We are looking forward to seeing what results she achieved. Fantastic service and tuition, cannot think of a reason to not award 5 stars. The extra maths tuition has been brilliant and helped my son make greatly. This platform and Debra, my children’s tutor, has been invaluable to our family. My daughter is dyslexic and didn’t pass her maths first time round, but with a handful of lessons she was awarded her grade 4 in 2020. My teenage son now has lessons and can’t deny he enjoys them, and said (with no prompting) that it’s made a massive difference to him especially after the first lockdown meant he missed so much year 9 teaching. The ability to top up payments in advance, print lessons afterwards, and chat to Debra our lovely tutor from the comfort of our own home, 100% Covid safe, Is brilliant. I don’t even need to be with him when his lesson is due. It’s one less thing for a parent to lose sleep about in these difficult times for our young people.
