Chapter 25 Book Club レビュー 

I have previously given a good review and my local club and the host was fantastic. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the customer service side of things. You can’t cancel via your online account so I had to email which I did on 17/05. I didn’t get a response until the 20th basically saying they will cancel my account in 7 days and trying to encourage me to stay. I replied again on the same day saying please cancel my account. On 21/05 I emailed again saying I was worried about being charged again and I want them to cancel my account. I emailed yet again on 24/05 and again on 27/05 when, alas, I was charged for another months membership. I’ve never had a response to any of my further emails. I’ve given ten days notice of my cancellation, emails go ignored, I’ve been charged again and almost put me into financial hardship because I couldn’t afford that payment on that day. I’m really disappointed in this after such a good experience previously, my emails of disappointment have been ignored, they’re quite happy for you to just continue being charged despite sufficient notice. For this reason I would never recommend this to anyone and be very vigilant if you want to cancel. I will continue to pursue a refund for the extra month I have been charged for but I won’t hold my breath

I don’t feel so bad giving 1 star after reading all of the other 1 star reviews as I had the same experience as most of them. The first meeting was a joke. No introductions, too many people crammed in and not in the slightest bit welcoming. Nobody else had read the book of the month so no discussions about it. It felt like a little clique where I was eavesdropping on stranger’s conversations, which quite frankly had nothing to do with books.
I thought the WhatsApp group was to keep us informed of book club related information. Instead, the content left a lot to be desired, strongly resembling a Facebook page where there was a lot of nothing actually being discussed. Any discussions about books amounted to a record of what page/chapter they were up to. Other than that, it was about reality TV programmes or football!
I’ve since joined another book club, with groups of 10, so you can actually have discussions about the books you’ve read. It is arranged through the library so they can provide enough copies of the book with no cost. The only thing you pay for is refreshments. I came away from the first meeting feeling very stimulated, despite having different opinions about the book. Really looking forward to the next meeting and pleased I didn’t waste any more money.

Very friendly atmosphere and sense of community at the monthly meetings. We have also had an event out with the club recently and it was a great experience. Tara our host is a bright , bubbly and friendly person who is always full of enthusiasm for the club, we all love her

Tara is such a welcoming host and always very organised which makes it feel very easy and smooth. She is great and going round groups in a large book club and hearing everyone’s opinions

I've only just joined Chapter 25 Book Club, but I'm already so excited to be here! I'm looking forward to diving into new books and most of all, meeting so many wonderful bookish people — I have a feeling this is going to be a great reading journey!

Most amazing club I have ever been a part of! I absolutely loving being a member of the Chapter 25 book club, it has gotten me to read books that Normally I wouldn't even glance twice at. It encouraged me to try reading an audio book as I had so many to read so decided to try reading in a different format. The community and warmth from the club is impeccable. I was so nervous walking into my first book club meet as I didn't know anyone it was all so new to me I didn't know what to expect, but I walked in and was so welcomed by everyone it was amazing. I felt like I was finally in a club I belonged to. Thank you for letting me a part of your community!

I was really nervous during my first meeting but I was made to feel really welcome and everyone was so warm and accepting of all view points. You are made to feel like you can give your opinion even if it differs with the majority of the group. Virtual meet ups are also available for those who can’t be flexible enough to attend face to face meet ups. You get so much included each month for your money including bonus sessions on various things such as crafting, painting and genre specific sessions as well as author Q&As and also a loyalty scheme where you get gifts along the way. I would highly recommend this book club to anyone and everyone

I always wanted to join a bookclub but was really nervous to do so. Joining Chapter 25 was a big step out of my comfort zone but I immediately felt at ease and now it is my favourite time of the month. I love that at each meet up, we are sat in smaller groups so that we all have a chance to share our thoughts and this is less overwhelming than one big group! Everyone is so friendly and I love that the hosts help you to sit with different people each month, and encourage people to move for activities where appropriate. The questions on the table are a great starting point for discussion and the host comes round to chat to everyone and help prompt discussion where needed. I've made genuine friendships through the club and would recommend it to anyone who is considering it!

The group is very friendly. There are lots of good book recommendations. A nice variety of different book genres are recommended.

I joined to meet like mined people, make new friends and choose and discuss books of differing genres. This wasn't the case, I wasn't made to feel welcome at first meeting, everything is at your table so you dont get to mingle and meet others, there's no discussion with everyone involved. So far I've paid for 3 months and there has only been 1 meeting in this time.. I feel very let down and totally ripped of. A lot is geared up for online. I dont feel you really get anything for your money. From emails I sent explaining how I felt this is run as a business and not taking people and feelings into consideration.

Dreadful experience. They make you commit to 3 months at £10 pm before you can cancel without letting you attend a meeting first to see if you like it (probably why they make you commit to 3 months!). There was only 1 meeting in those 3 months where I joined so have paid for 3 but only attended one.
The host doesn’t appear to ‘host’ anything just put discussion sheets on each table to discuss amongst yourselves. So there was loads of people there we didn’t even speak to.
Didn’t really know what was going on.
The books all appear to be YA and fantasy kind of books.
There’s some online stuff but I could source most of the stuff for free myself.

Great central location, very lovely welcoming people. Always have a great time during our meet ups, but also with our group chat.

IRL meetings are great and Host always ready to answer questions or solve problems. Online events are fantastic, adds a bunch of extra book clubs and creative opportunities. Best thing I pay for!

With the Staines Group. Kim is a wonderful host, really enjoy her interactions with everyone and she is very thoughtful and considerate with her approach to the group. The idea in itself is wonderful, having all these groups set up. It may be nice to do a larger "national" day meet up once a year to get to know some of the extended network!

I have been a member of the Bridgend group for a few months now and thoroughly enjoy the monthly meet-ups!
I was nervous going along alone but everyone has been so welcoming and friendly.
Special shout out to Hannah who runs our group for making every meet-up run smoothly and being generally a lovely person ☺️

Its a lovely place to meet new people and share the love of a good book with people who want to do the same. Most people have a favourite genre so choosing a book club has made me read books I would have never picked up. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to branch out of their genre and meet lovely people every month.

Felt very welcome from the get go, the host is friendly, smiley and well organised and makes sure everyone feels included, a lovey chill environment to be in and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to start a hobby and be part of a good group of people!

Book club is a great night to talk about books with others who are as mad about books as I am. We can chat about other things in life too, but it’s just a night out where we can drink and chat with like minded people.
