Catsitter review …

It was easy to make a booking for a catsitter. I got a response pretty promptly then a cat sitter contacted me.
Mysha,looked after my cat with lot of care and patient. My cat is easily scared and at the end of the 3 days,Norman my cat was rubbing himself and much less scared. Over the 3 days,I got daily photos and updates. I will use Chatty Cat Care again as I feel more confident to leave my cat and go on holiday. Mysha is very caring and easy to get on. Lovely service.

Great experience

I booked Chatty Cats to look after my nervous rescue cat after a sub-optimal experience with another company. My cat has a couple of additional needs, so I wanted someone reliable who would follow my instructions.

The owner, Michelle, was super responsive and professional, and the booking process was extremely smooth and straightforward. Our sitter, Zed, did an excellent job, and even managed to make friends with my nervous ex-stray cat who usually hides under the sofa whenever he meets anyone new. Zed also kept me updated and sent photos every day.

The day before I was due to get back, I realised I needed to extend the booking by an extra day, and this was arranged very quickly and with zero fuss.

I'll definitely be using Chatty Cats the next time I go away.

I have never experienced such awful…

I have never experienced such awful customer service, the owner is shockingly rude for a business owner. This is what happened:

I submitted an online form making it clear that I had some questions and a number of potential dates for 2024 and wanted to speak with someone about potentially booking. No one contacted me to discuss and I received an email with an invoice to pay. I was not planning to go ahead with a booking as I wanted to speak with someone first before letting a stranger into my home. Chatty Cats do not work in this way, its all remote booking forms and emails until you pay and only then is it possible to meet the cat sitter (what if you are no comfortable with them!?).
I had no choice but to go ahead with the booking as my cat sitter let me down and the owner proceeded to charge me a cancellation fee and then a late booking fee on top to go ahead with the booking. The owner sent what can only be described as a rude email saying that when a booking form is completed that its a confirmed booking and therefore I had to pay the cancellation despite the comments I had written about wanting to speak with someone before confirming. I was a surprised but went ahead and paid it and booked as I was stuck for a cat sitter. The cat sitter herself was very lovely despite the rude owner of Chatty Cats.

Given the cat sitter had now looked after my cat, I decided to rebook her for my 2 week holiday and submitted the form and received an email from the owner saying "We only confirm bookings no longer than 2 months in advance, so I will pin your request for now and get back to you at the end of June with a confirmation." This again was a surprise they were not willing to confirm given the owner’s stance in the situation above - she previously told me an online form constitutes a confirmed booking. However it seems this is only the case where it suits and the owner can charge penalties She didn't get back to me and I sent a follow up. I decided to go with someone else as was not comfortable with what seemed a disingenuous approach and an inability to confirm until so close to our trip. I was worried by the thought they might not be able to confirm and then I may not be able to find a cat sitter for 2 week holiday at such short notice. I let the owner know and received a very rude response:

"Good morning Sarah,

Thank you for letting me know, however I confirmed with you on the 3rd of July that M would be your cat-sitter 2 days after you emailed me, which is not a long time to wait. I also explained in that email that she was abroad at the time, so I was unable to get hold of her straight away. Our clients are patient and understand that we are a small business and that I am the only person who is running everything. They do not feel frustrated or annoyed by sending a follow up email because they know that I am also trying to work to ensure that the admin work is completed and also carry out cat-sitting bookings myself.

The first time you booed I had also sent you our terms and conditions document, which is your responsibility to read through as a consumer. If you did read through it then you would have read about our cancellation policy. So you are given the correct information and no part of what I do is disingenuous. We only wish to work with people who are kind, understanding and also take the time to read up any information or contracts sent to them before making undermining comments and sending passive aggressive emails.

I have informed M that she is no longer available to do your booking and no worries about the cancellation fee this time as we would not like to continue working with you as a client." - owner of chatty cats.

I responded to say the owner email was factually incorrect and I had be waiting 5 weeks for a confirmation with the supporting email. I said that it would have good customer service for her to pick up the phone instead of hiding behind emails and online booking forms and that I would leave a review and got the following response from the owner:

"It sounds like you enjoy bullying small businesses. You did not have to chase you sent me one follow up email, which is what most people would do and not have an issue with. We do offer a proper services, which is why we have happy returning customers that have been with us for years. We do not have a phone for enquiries, as I mentioned we have one founder, which is myself, so I have limited capacity. My number is reachable for emergency reasons only. If you wish to tarnish a small business with your rude opinions then it’s up to you. I know personally that I would not do that to someone who was working hard to build a business, but clearly we have different ethics."

My advice would be to steer clear of this company, having looked, there are others that have had similar, terrible experiences to me with the owner. See other similar experiences others have had with her on here too.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear about your negative experience.

To provide some clarity, you were sent our full terms and conditions document prior to your initial booking, which detailed all our policies, including cancellations. It appears this document was not thoroughly reviewed, which led to misunderstandings.

At no point were we shockingly rude; we simply reiterated our terms after receiving a hostile and accusatory email from you. As a very small business run by a single founder, we do not have the capacity for phone calls but are always reachable via email for any queries. Unfortunately, you did not utilise this option adequately.

Our cat-sitter, Malavika, promptly contacted you for an initial consultation, allowing you to meet her before the booking. Contrary to your claims, you had the chance to assess your comfort level.

As evident from our positive reviews, we pride ourselves on our booking process and free consultations. The cancellation fee was necessary as it impacts our operations and the cat-sitter's opportunities.

You submitted a booking form in May for an August date, and it was made clear we confirm bookings only two months in advance. Despite receiving a follow-up email on July 1st, confirming Malavika's availability within two days, we did not receive any further communication until today.

We strive to provide excellent service and appreciate constructive feedback. However, your allegations were unfounded and misleading. We wish you the best with your future pet care arrangements.

My employment at ChattyCatsCare.

I have been employed at ChattyCatsCare for over a year now. My experience working for this company has been great. I’ve met countless of wonderful people and I have tremendously improved my communication, punctuality and admin skills etc through this job. I’ve been able to explore London and look after precious cats/kittens in all boroughs - and get paid for it!

The elements of flexibility and having control is something which I have valued here too. I can choose wether to accept or deny a booking for whatever reason I may have. This is especially great for me, since I am a university student with another current job already.

I really do take pride and care in the work and help that I do. I’ve taken care of many cats (i’ve lost count) and I feel that my clients and Michelle appreciate me for it.

The invoices, which I complete myself, give me a clear understanding of what I am being paid for, and obviously represent proof of my employment which can be asked for by employers/landlords/governments. They are an asset - obviously they can be a pain to fill out and calculate sometimes if I let them build up for too long, but definitely beneficial and an essential legality.

In terms of travelling costs, like I had said previously, I have the personal choice to accept/decline certain bookings. Sometimes I decline due to the booking being too far away. I am honest about this to my boss, and she is completely understanding.

Finally, a clear line of communication is always necessary if you choose to work here - which makes absolute sense! There is no over exaggeration and defamation of anyone in my review, because if I have any doubts/questions about anything at all - I ask my boss!

Extremly trustful and helpful.

I was leaving my kittens for the first time I had used chatty cats before so knew I could trust them. I got confused I thought I had booked the friday evening. When I messaged to ask how the kittens where they told me I have booked from the next day. the cat sitter assigned to me was amazing she booked me an extra visit and I made the payment online.She then cam all the way from north london to SE london to feed them. It was totally my error and she was very helpful to rectify the issue.

Wonderful Kitty Care

This was our first time using Chatty Cars Care. It was fantastic kitty care! Siddiqa was absolutely wonderful and our kitties loved her. We had been nervous about our 20 year old kitty who takes meds but Siddiqa was excellent and able to give our girl her medication easily.

Chatty Cats Care is a great company and we will definitely be using their services again.

An amazing service

An amazing service. Michelle was so wonderful - communicative, friendly, trustworthy that I was totally comfortable having her in my home overnight and taking care of the ball of fluff that is Mushroom. Very competitive rates, I would not hesitate to recommend Chatty Cats to anyone. I came home to a clean house and a very happy and relaxed cat.

Ronja looked after our 7 month kitten…

Ronja looked after our 7 month kitten over the Christmas period and was the perfect cat sitter! It was the first time we had left our kitten alone for a few days but was immediately assured and confident that Ronja would do a fantastic job when we met her before we left. Ronja is so lovely, friendly, caring and diligent. We received updates and photos every time she visited, and she listened attentively to our requests no matter how silly (like playing music for our kitten so she didn’t feel lonely!) We will be using the service again and crossing all our fingers and toes Ronja will be available when we do!

Siddiqua from Chatty Cats

Siddiqua from Chatty Cats looked after our cat Millie over the Christmas period.She is very nervous around strangers but Siddiqua took the time to play with her and build a level of trust which was above and beyond what we expected. I will definitely use Chatty Cats again.

An exceptional company

This is an exceptional company. I used them for the first time over the Christmas period and was extremely impressed. Michelle took our booking and found us a sitter, Amelia, the same day. Amelia arranged a visit to meet our two cats and find out about them and their routine and we liked her immediately. While we were away we got regular updates with photos and videos. Amelia was so good with the cats, especially as one of them is very nervous of strangers. She was so patient and managed to get him to take treats from her hand. Both cats were calm and happy when we returned home and that is testament to how well they were looked after. We will definitely be using this service again.

Chatty Cats Care review

We used Chatty Cats Care only once so far. We have been very happy to have Ke taking care of our cat as we got daily updates from her during each visit.
We are already planning to book Chatty Cats Care services for our next time away from home

Responsive, reliable and excellent at communicating

With my work, I travel frequently and often at very short notice. Michelle is always prompt in responses and Juila, who got to look after my cat, was absolutely amazing. He was taken care of well, fed, brushed, played with and she always made sure to send pictures too. Cannot recommend them enough!!

Excellent!

Eva from Chatty Cats Care was wonderful when she came to feed my two cats twice a day. She met them beforehand and even my cat who is nervous of new people took to her immediately. Eva stayed in touch with me at each visit and sent me the most beautiful photos of my cats. The process of booking the service was straightforward and I will definitely use them again as my cats were looked after so well.

Great Service

I can thoroughly recommend this business. I have used them twice now to look after my cat (a hour day on a daily basis) whilst I was away.
The sitter visits beforehand to take notes of everything they need to know about access to the property & the likes and needs of my cat.
They provide daily updates with photos etc. which is very reassuring. All their sitters are clearly cat lovers and/or owners which is obviously important.
It gives me great peace of mind knowing she is well looked after & will definitely be using them again.
