Don’t waste your money

I decided to give Chop Tones a try after purchasing my Headrush Flex unit. I purchased a Mya SLO volume one package. Anyone in the world of Guitars and amps knows that the SLO amp refers to the Soldano Super Lead Overdrive. After importing the Chop Tone SLO Rig on my Headrush, it sounded terrible! I own a Soldano SLO 100 and this model sounds nothing like it. When I reached out to Support and told him that the SLO sounds nothing like the Soldano SLO they responded. It is not an SLO type modeler. However, I felt this terrible Mya SLO ‘rig’ was a misrepresentation of the Soldano SLO amp and told him how disappointed I was in this package. I asked for a refund or a store credit. I was denied both. Don’t waste your money with the SLO model from Chop Tones. It sounds absolutely terrible.

We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed, but we believe this review is misleading.

First, this review was posted anonymously, making it impossible for other customers to verify the context of the support conversation.

More importantly, the product was never misrepresented.

The product description, product title, demo video, and supporting information clearly explain exactly what is included. We work exclusively with real amplifiers and real gear, and the resulting tones are faithfully demonstrated in the official demo videos. We do not use hidden post-processing or studio tricks to make our products sound different from what customers actually receive.

The tones included in the pack are exactly the ones heard in the demo available before purchase.

Your request for a refund was based on the product not matching your personal expectations, not because it differed from what was advertised or delivered. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds simply because a customer expected something different from what was clearly presented beforehand.

We always encourage customers to listen carefully to the demos and contact us before purchasing if they have any doubts about a product.

Terrible support, instead helping sending bolt answers
. Then the IRs are standard, nothing out of the ordinary
And very expensive

We're sorry you feel this way, but your review does not accurately reflect what happened.

We replied to every one of your support requests, provided detailed explanations, sent tutorials, and repeatedly tried to understand the issue you were experiencing. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we never received the information we requested to troubleshoot the problem. Instead, we were repeatedly told only that "it doesn't work," without any further details, making it impossible for us to identify or reproduce the issue.

As the conversation continued, the communication unfortunately became disrespectful, including personal insults directed toward our staff.

We are always happy to help our customers, but effective technical support requires cooperation from both sides. We can only diagnose and resolve an issue when sufficient information is provided.

Regarding the product itself, our IRs are exactly the ones demonstrated in our official audio and video demos. Whether someone prefers a particular sound is, of course, subjective, but they are the same files every customer receives.

For these reasons, we believe this 1-star review does not fairly represent either the product or the support that was provided.

Best tones out there!!!

After years of touring internationally and playing everything from large theaters to arenas, I've tried countless profiles and tone packs. ChopTones consistently delivers the most authentic, mix-ready, and inspiring guitar tones I've found.
What impresses me most is how well these tones translate in real live situations. They sit perfectly in the mix, respond naturally to playing dynamics, and require very little tweaking. Whether I'm playing in a club, a theater, or a sold-out arena, I know I can rely on ChopTones to deliver professional results every night.
For touring musicians who need consistency and great sound, ChopTones is simply in a league of its own. Highly recommended.

I am yet to give an experienced revuew.

As someone who is just getting into guitar, they gave me the impression my Amp would be compatible. As someone who is new to playing guitar, and having very limited knowledge on the Hardware/Software compatibility I should of done more research before purchasing it. I hear there good...im looking forward to giving my honest revuew in the near future.

We appreciate your honesty in acknowledging that you are new to guitar gear and that your knowledge of hardware, software, and compatibility is still limited.

However, this is exactly why we feel a 2-star review is unfair in this case.

The product you purchased is clearly identified as a Kemper pack throughout the product page, including the title, description, product images, and compatibility information. Unfortunately, a Boss Katana is a completely different platform and cannot load Kemper profiles.

As you mentioned yourself, the issue was not the quality of the product, but rather a misunderstanding regarding compatibility and a lack of research before purchasing.

We are always available to answer questions and clarify compatibility requirements before a purchase is made, and we encourage customers to contact us whenever they have doubts about whether a product will work with their equipment.

We completely understand that entering the world of guitar gear can be confusing at first. However, we do not believe a 2-star review accurately reflects the product itself, especially when the incompatibility resulted from purchasing a product designed for a different platform.

Sadly I bought the wrong version

Sadly I bought the wrong version of the software for Brian May sounds. Only some of the sounds work with my DNAfx GIT Core Pedal. (I should have read the "small print".) But the sounds that do work are great, and the communication with choptones was very friendly. I would buy there again. :-)

Has Choptones done one that wasn't spot-on?

Very rarely does Choptones put out a AxeFXIII (and some others here and there) that I don't just automatically buy. I say rarely...please as much as love them both, the world doesn't need anymore AC-DC or Metallica presets.
I'd like to see them do more artist (Mr. Big, Queensryche for example) presets and really dig in to specific albums.
Anyway...you are never going to go wrong with Choptones.
