I am absolutely disgusted by the level of customer service received. After feeding my 8 week old puppy DAF food for a few weeks, I found a piece of black plastic in my food. I called up to complain, and the lady informed me that she would pass the information on to the manager and they would give me a call back.

I then called back 4 hours later as I had received no response, only to find out NOTHING was relayed to the manager, Sarah. Initially, she offered to refund me for the order and said I could dispose of the food and do what I want with it. I advised her that she could come and pick it up from us, however at this point over half the food was already used.

I asked Sarah if as a gesture of goodwill for our poor experience they would take something off the next order and she was very rude, dismissive and essentially called me a 'hypocrite' and 'cheeky' that I would still like to stay with them. I placed the order without any discount as I did not want to deal with her and thought that DAF are highly recommended, and that this was posssibly one poor experience.

I then placed my next order and a DAF employee called to advise that the order would not be collected on that day as the van broke down and it would be collected the next day. I advised them not to as I had no other food to give my dog and carefully had to spend about 20 minutes before each meal to ensure there was no plastic in his food.

Sarah then called me up, very rudely and advised me that I would have to pay for the food as I refused to return it. She then hung up on me very rudely after I refused to.

I am absolutely shocked at the absence of customer service received and would not recommend using this company. We placed an order of different meats with the hope that there will not be any issues however after reading these reviews I will not be buying from them again.

This company is rude, and very irresponsible. They did not even ask for a batch number or any information to do a recall of that batch, and seemed to think it was fairly normal to find plastic in food.

I am not sure who you have answering your phones but they are losing you business with their attitude.

On my last order (in March) you failed to deliver an item worth £25 and left a note on my invoice saying it would arrive the week after. I took this in good faith and it is now June and no sign of my item.

I called your company and you say there is no record of my item not being included with the delivery. Unfortunately, I don't keep invoices for dog food so I no longer have the note. Regardless of this, you still haven't proved to me that the item left your warehouse and I have not signed any paperwork to say the item arrived.

This is not the first issue I have had with your company. You also charged me for next day delivery and my order never came. Your response was to send the order 3 days late and STILL charge me for next day delivery.

I will no longer be using your company as you have been incompetent, rude and short-sighted. Your customer service is appalling and your method of tracking orders belongs in the Beamish Museum.

Agree staff are so rude I also dealt with Sarah the manager mentioned in comments below. Unmovable on issues that were entirely their fault. Brands like petsathome are SO quick to refund/replace, have the online chat enabled and are very nice. Never shopping at DAF again.

My dog's love DAF....some of the reviews on here are so daft...yes of course it contains bone, that's an important part of a dogs raw diet! Packets do state that they may contain shots or bullet fragments in things like rabbit and the boar (no surprises there!). We used to use Bulmers but find DAF so much better smelling and much more meatier. Very happy with DAF

i've been buying from daf for a couple of years now but have noticed the quality deteriorate recently. meat used to be nice and red but is now a totally different colour with what seems like much more rubbish in there. as my dog wasn't a fussy eater i only complained to daf but not on here. today however they have really cheesed me off as they just didn't show up with my order and didn't tell me otherwise. now i'm stuck because i've not got anything to feed him. totally out of order and very unprofessional
update from this comment i managed to phone them today and sarah the manager( apparantly) was very rude to me accusing my of saying things i did not say. i asked to be transferred to someone else and that when we established that they had not passed my delivery instructions to the driver. in conclusion not my or delivery drivers fault but the incompetence of this company. i will not be ordering from this place again and will advice my friends to do the same because they way they spoke down to me. absolutely disgusting and unforgivable

The quality of the food for our 4 dogs is excellent ... and the delivery (Luke) is prompt & courteous ... We order a lot of the chicken and we are very happy that the pooches are happy!

I feed 4 boxer dogs with the mince, they never leave anything at all, 5 minutes and nothing left. I've never had any problems with daf after 4 years of dealing with them. Delivery is reliable and drivers always pleasant. Keep up the good work.

Been using daf now for a couple of years.
Good selection if raw minced.
For my area I order Friday and it arrives Tuesday.
Staff ring if they are out of stock to arrange alternatives, but it's a live system so this rarely happens.
Yes the meat smells but my dogs seem to like it!

Avoid this company, the food is full of sharp and sometimes large pieces of bone, also contains a lot of skin and is a strange colour. When defrosted meat very often smells really bad and my dogs refuse to eat it. I recently bought minced rabbit from them which when defrosted was very sloppy and made all 6 of my dogs violently ill.
I will never use this company again

Feeding basil Raw since October last year because he constantly had the runs I. Whatever kibble we tried him on. Safe to say he absolutely loves it and hasn't had a soft poo since. Excellent value for money and very friendly/helpful with any issues I've had

Hi,ive used daf along with a local supplier for years(daf have varieties local shop does not)ive always been happy with their service and foods-so have my dogs-.im impressed with them-never had a problem with the meat,always polite and helpful,i cant fault them.theyve earned these 5 stars-thanks daf! ps-i also love the fact the meat comes in recycled packaging-so much easier than disposing of polystyrene boxes!

We have been using DAF for about 7 years
And find them very good we feed 2 boxer dogs and it works out cheaper than tinned processed food.
The delivery driver they use now is great and even puts my order in the freezer in my garage whilst we are working.
We had issues with past drivers just leaving our order outside in the rain but are happy with the current one.

My dog has been sick a few times eating this week and it is very sloppy and of a significant lower quality than other raw brands would not recommend.

My pugs are fed raw and thriving. They are fed DAF complete with out issues. They enjoy the range except for their minced oily fish for what reason u do not know! Absolutely love the daf game!

Love these guys. I've always had good meats which the dogs have loved, and it's agreed with all of them. I enjoy the variety and the fact you can get whole foods from here too!
The only down side is the postage, as there isn't a store close to me. But otherwise, 5*

My dog has eaten DAF minces since he was a pup. They used to be fairly good quality. However the last 3 batches I have purchased have been rubbish. Chunks of bone and fat. Unfortunately I wont be purchasing anymore.

I have two 6month Basset Hounds and love Durham's foods... you get what you pay for with any Raw food so don't expect the finest meats available to mankind. I do add some cooked mixed vegs which would be great if they started to add this into the mix. The bone content good (small bits). Great delivery, but all comes in cardboard boxes so its a rush to get it all in the freezer.

We have been using these guys to feed our Vizsla since he has been on solid food. Prompt delivery, quality product and reasonably priced. Our dog loves his food and we constantly get told how good he looks.
Would recommend their service.

The great thing about Daf is that they deliver weekly in my area!... However any greatness atm stops there!

With two dogs and 3 cats on raw diets it speaks volumes when all five of them would literally go hungry rather than eat most of Daf minces.

The chinks used to be great quality, the chicken filets for example were nice lean chicken fillet chunks, but for a year now there’s literally more fat than meat and the chunks are loads of small bits probably off cuts from carcass which are pressed together. Unfortunately a lot of the chunks and products in general are now of extremely poor quality. I feed my animals a raw diet because I want them to find fulfilment in their food, and to eat the best best possible diet, not cubes of chicken fat....

Final issue is regarding refunds and complaints, you will not get a reply via email, and you are fobbed Off with lies if you call them. I noticed some one here said they had success via social media, so that’s deffo my next move.

I have been ordering for just under 1 year and have had excellent service. I am in Scotland and have had great frozen delivery service free of charge. I have 3 dogs and initially only fed my spaniel raw as he has seizures, but my other 2 were so jealous so all 3 now eat the raw food.
Excellent prices and quality meat would highly recommend A++
