I strongly advise against undergoing surgery with Dr Ring and Destination Beauty. My personal experience has been distressing and life-altering.

In June 2023, I had a “mummy makeover” consisting of a breast augmentation/lift and a tummy tuck. Within a month, I was already raising concerns via email, sharing photos of my boxy, uneven breasts and experiencing significant pain. Destination Beauty later admitted that my implant had “bottomed out,” yet even getting any response from them was challenging.

The surgical experience itself was terrifying. The operating area had bare concrete floors and did not appear clean. I was strapped down by my wrists, unable to properly communicate with staff due to a language barrier, and I never even saw the surgeon in the room. After surgery, I was heavily dosed with morphine, leaving me unable to speak, constantly vomiting, and feeling completely vulnerable.

I woke alone after surgery and was quickly pushed to get up and move, despite feeling extremely unwell. I fainted and hit the floor hard, only to wake naked on a toilet surrounded by roughly seven nurses, with fans blowing and my face being slapped to bring me around. It was frightening and humiliating.

In 2024, I returned to Thailand for revision surgery due to financial constraints—I had originally accessed my superannuation to fund the first surgery and couldn’t afford a private repair in Australia. Even after paying additional costs for the revision, my problems remained unresolved.

I formally requested a refund in July 2024 and have since had my complaint referred to Destination Beauty’s legal team. I have years of emails, photos, and receipts documenting this ordeal.

Communication has been appalling, and I often felt completely on my own. Negative reviews and comments appear to vanish, leaving prospective patients with a dangerously incomplete picture.

I researched extensively prior to my first procedure and found almost no negative feedback. Had I read an honest account like this beforehand, I doubt I would have gone through with the surgery. Now, I live with the scars, the results, and the emotional toll. My body confidence, relationships, and opportunities have been deeply affected.

I was a young, healthy, non-smoker who had lost significant weight after a gastric sleeve. I truly believed I was taking a positive step for myself. But comparing the outcomes I’ve seen from Dr Ring with results from highly regarded Australian surgeons makes the difference painfully obvious.

Thailand is an incredible country, and many people may enjoy the holiday aspect, but that is separate from the quality of medical care. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Dr Ring or Destination Beauty. I urge anyone considering it to conduct independent research, seek out both positive and negative patient experiences, and think very carefully before making this decision.

From the time I was picked up to the day I left I received nothing but fantastic service.
The drivers were very friendly and courteous, the staff at the hospital were amazing , the hotel and the staff were fantastic as well .
I walked away feeling very pleased with the surgery I had and also the service that was provided.
Can’t wait to go back again for my next surgery.

I had a number of cosmetic procedures in Thailand, facilitated by Destination Beauty.
I had a great experience with them - the hospital was very clean and modern and the nurses were lovely and caring. I felt supported whilst there and that continued with my stay at the accomodation after I was discharged from the hospital.

As a foreign traveller I was supported from arrival to departure.
A reminder was sent to advise me of every appointment and checkup.
All procedures were explained to me, checked and triple checked. Every opportunity for pre surgery questions was given. My comfort post surgery was always the nurses highest priority.
Post surgery any ongoing support I required was assisted swiftly and professionally. I consulted with my surgeon pre surgery and he checked in after to see I was ok and again at my 1 week progress, in addition to my nurse checkup visits. My daughter was also along for the ride as my companion and she was also taken care of ❤️ The A:Team, Dr Ring, Nurse Aom and Nurse Bray

I am 4 weeks post surgery and back home in Australia!

I used destination beauty 8 years ago for my first tummy tuck, but I had 2 children since and so I enquired about redoing it again with extra lipo as I put on a lot of weight, then lost 20kg.

I had an extended tummy tuck, mom’s lift and breast lift with 300cc with smoothe high profile mentor implants!

This was my second trip using DB and once again was extremely happy with all aspects of my stay.
From the hospital, the nursing team at the hospital and in the clinic, the hotel team, the DB service team and my amazing surgeon Dr Weerachai my experience was nothing short of spectacular.
I had a revision bra lift and an extended lower back lift. I might add I was meant to have a bum lift and lipo however after meeting with my surgeon he said it was not necessary and I received a refund for those procedures.
I was in hospital for 6 days and met my surgeon the morning of the procedure, in ICU (any surgeries over 6 hours this is required), then 3 more times before being discharged and of course 1 week after being discharged to have the all clear to fly.
I felt supported throughout the entire process and will be looking at returning again for my final skin removal procedure after losing 75kg.
I went solo so they added extra nurse visits at the hospital to clean my wounds daily as I could not reach them at no extra cost.
Thank you DB you have given me back my confidence and I now love the body I worked so hard to achieve.

I would write destination beauty 10 out of 10 as I’ve had two procedures on two. Several occasions both went extremely fantastic from the moment you arrived to Thailand to the time you depart you in the best trusted hands. I had a wonderful experience both times the service from being picked up from the airport to arriving at your hotel to being admitted into your hospital appointments and for surgery date everything is taken care of you. Don’t have to worry about how to get to your appointments or your transfers organised. Your breakfast is included in the morning where you get to meet the most amazing people on their journey and experience so you do not ever feel alone. I had my surgery with Dr Angkana in May 2026 through Destination Beauty and I genuinely could not be happier with my experience and my results.

I underwent an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and mons lift, breast lift with augmentation and an arm lift, so this was a very significant surgery and something I had thought about and planned for a long time.

From the moment I met Dr Angkana I felt incredibly comfortable with her. She was warm, kind, professional and realistic about what could be achieved with my body. I never felt rushed or like I was just another patient. She listened to what I wanted while also giving me her professional opinion about what would create the best and safest result.

I am now over three months post surgery and I am honestly amazed by what she has achieved. After significant weight loss I had a lot of loose skin and changes to my body that affected my confidence. Seeing my body now feels surreal. My waist, stomach and breast shape have completely transformed and I finally feel like my outside reflects how hard I worked to change my life.

The care I received in Thailand was also wonderful. The hospital staff were attentive and caring during what was a physically and emotionally intense recovery. Travelling overseas for major surgery can obviously feel daunting, but I felt supported throughout the experience and I am so grateful to everyone who looked after me, especially my rep Bua and the amazing nurses on ward 11 💖

Recovery has not always been easy and healing from multiple major procedures takes patience, but I would make the same decision again. I also really appreciated that Dr Angkana prioritised my safety during surgery and made decisions based on what was appropriate for my body rather than simply doing everything originally discussed.

Dr Angkana has genuinely changed my life and given me a level of confidence in my body that I did not think I would ever have. I will always be incredibly grateful to her and her team for the care they gave me and for the beautiful result she created.

I had the most loving, caring a easy going experience with DB, I couldn't recommend them more.
The hospital was so clean and the nurses were so caring, not once did I feel uncomfortable to ask for any sort of help.

The nurses were absolutely fantastic. Catered to my every need. Extremely professional. I loved the care at the hospital and how quickly pain medication was given when requested.
The hospital is great. Beautiful room and comfy bed with tv and chrome cast. It was an amazing experience I would not have had this in Australia. The care was amazing.

I had cosmetic facial surgery on 22nd May 26 at the Destination Beauty Clinic My surgery was performed by Dr NJ. He advised me to have a mid face and neck lift, a neck lift, a sub brow lift and fat transplant to obtain an all round more youthful appearance. I am really happy with the results so far. I am currently 13 weeks postoperative and the scars have healed beautifully. I was really happy with everything at Destination Beauty Clinic . The nurses care is second to none.

Dr Rich from did my face and neck lift with upper and lower blepharo plasty 5 year ago. No issues were noted and i was impressed with the professionalism that the team offered.
Sensing that I needed further minor corrections that comes with age, Dr NG provided a good revision. This time the recovery was much faster due to a shorter list of interventions. I could not fault the team for their attention and care during that process.
Before returning home , Sister AOM provided the best experience with providing Botox with the upmost professionalism and technical skills I've encounter so far.

I am still awaiting your response. If you believe the story involving 60 Minutes is over, I can assure you that it is not.

I find it deeply concerning that a company would continue to ignore the experiences of patients who have suffered life-changing injuries. Numerous women have come forward with similar accounts, yet rather than addressing these concerns openly and transparently, it appears there has been an effort to dismiss, minimise, or silence those affected..

Destination Beauty promotes itself as providing the highest standard of surgical care. However, when complications occur, patients deserve honesty, accountability, and support—not a lack of communication and unanswered questions. The ongoing failure to address these matters has only added to the distress experienced by many former patients.

As a result of my surgery, I am now facing a second corrective operation in Australia this September 2026 to raise my right eyebrow and improve facial symmetry. Unfortunately, the nerve damage I sustained is permanent and cannot be repaired. Years later, I still have no movement in my forehead, and significant areas of my face remain numb.

The impact this has had on my life cannot be overstated. Beyond the physical injuries, it has affected my mental health, confidence, wellbeing, and quality of life. Living with the consequences of these complications every day has been incredibly challenging.

I am asking once again for a response and for Destination Beauty to acknowledge the harm that has been caused. Patients are not numbers on a file. We are people whose lives have been permanently altered, and we deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

From beginning to end my experience with Destination Beauty has been amazing. My surgery was performed by Dr K who along with the nurses were just amazing. Every step of the way I was provided with information regarding my surgery and any questions addressed immediately. The after care was amazing, the nurses checked on me every 2 hours and the surgeon checked on me daily. Even the hotel was amazing. I am a returning client of Destination Beauty, and I genuinely cannot recommend them highly enough. In 2024, at 26 years old and weighing 179kg, I travelled to Thailand for weight-loss surgery after years of trying diets, naturopathy, gyms and other methods without success. The experience had taken a huge toll on my mental health. After extensive research, I chose Destination Beauty based on their reviews, results, cost-effectiveness and the personal support I received from my representative, Pim.

From start to finish, the process was extraordinary. Airport, hotel and hospital transfers were organised and communicated clearly, and I never felt like I was left wondering what to do or where to go. My support person was also included and well looked after. The pre-operative testing was extremely thorough, which gave me confidence that safety was a genuine priority. My weight-loss surgery was complication-free, and over the following two years I lost 77kg. It completely changed my life. I became happier and more confident, and my anxiety significantly improved. However, after losing so much weight I was left with significant loose skin and stubborn areas of fat, which affected both my physical activity and mental health.

Because of my positive first experience, I returned to Destination Beauty in July 2026 for extensive body-contouring surgery. I underwent a breast lift, side lift, arm lift, extended tummy tuck and mons lift, along with liposuction to three areas. My surgeon, Dr. K, took the time to explain why certain procedures were more appropriate for my body and what could realistically be achieved. The consultation involved my surgeon, a ward nurse and my DB representative. Although being examined so personally was understandably vulnerable, I actually found the experience reassuring because everyone involved in my care was informed and working together.

My experience at Samitivej Hospital was exceptional. I had a private room with everything I needed, daily cleaning and care, consistent monitoring and excellent communication. Most importantly, the nurses in Ward 11 were incredibly kind, encouraging and compassionate. During one of the most vulnerable periods of my life, I genuinely felt cared for. I will always be grateful to them. After discharge, Destination Beauty continued to support me with transfers, compression garments, recovery information and access to their onsite nurses at the hotel. Their handbook was incredibly helpful, and their patient gatherings and afternoon teas also provide a wonderful opportunity to meet others going through similar experiences.

I also stayed at Somerset Park Suanplu, a hotel partnered with Destination Beauty. The staff were fantastic, the suites were spacious and comfortable, and the location was incredibly convenient, with a 7-Eleven nearby. The hotel naturally becomes a little community of patients recovering from surgery, which I found comforting rather than unusual. DB also has an onsite clinic where patients can see nurses for dressing changes or concerns.

I want to emphasise that surgery is a major decision and my experience may not be identical to everyone else's. Research thoroughly, understand the risks and complications, choose a surgeon who suits your needs, take your recovery seriously, and manage your expectations. Surgery isn't a shortcut, and healing requires patience and commitment.

I went into my 2026 surgeries thinking, “Whatever changes are made will still be better than my current situation.” I didn't expect perfection. I wanted improvement. I'm still healing, dealing with scars, swelling, compression garments and aches, but already, I feel a huge positive difference.

For the first time in my 29 years, I can look in the mirror and imagine wearing clothes I once thought were completely impossible for me. After spending most of my life unhappy with my body, I finally feel genuine positivity towards myself. I could not have reached this point without Destination Beauty, Dr. Narong (WLS), Dr. K, the incredible nurses and staff of Ward 11, and the courage I had to take that first step.

I will be returning to Thailand in 2027 for further surgeries, which says more about my confidence in Destination Beauty and Samitivej than anything else could. If you're considering surgery and are researching Destination Beauty, my personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Had a good experience with destination beauty and am happy with my results , I am nearly six weeks post op and healing well . Hotel and staff were lovely , nurses were lovely , destination beauty organised everything very well and everything went smoothly, I had a question recently and they got back to me promptly with an answer . Take a support person with you would be my suggestion and don’t do multiple surgeries in a short time frame , I only did the deep lane face lift and chin tuck I originally booked and only added in bleph under eye. I went at my ideal weight and in good health . I recommend destination beauty and Dr J who did my surgery.

I thought I'd wait to review until I saw my GP/breast-care nurse back here in Australia to have remaining stitches removed. I would like to express the breast care nurse who has seen and dealt with a lot in her career commented on how amazed she was with the beautiful stitch job, and care taken to perfect my surgery - BA/BL.
