only used them thinking it would save me filling out a load of paper work but turns out they send that same paperwork to you so in actual fact end up giving them a 30% cut for literally doing nothing. Very poor.
Terrible. Staff make mistakes which should be easy to spot. They do not pay attention to paperwork & their process is basically this; YOU send them account or policy numbers, your personal info and they fill in standard forms .. incorrectly. Maybe 2 or three completed forms later when you have effectively shown them how to complete their own forms, you will then get the right form to complete and sign. This is sent to your financial companies where you think you may have PPI... they dont actually check if you have it elsewhere. The company then either writes back saying no PPi or makes an offer. Even if it is 10 pence you are owed Direct Redress will send you an invoice for their cut. The letter and invoice probably cost alot more to send ... great financial experts??? Now if you get an offer which is a good offer you will be told in writing what it is and the financial company will possibly send the cheque to you direct... Direct redress will present their invoice for payment before you even receive the cheque from your financial company and give you 14 days to pay (according to their ever so helpful telephone staff). If you complain that they are harassing you for payment when the cheque hasnt even been cashed they wont actually do anything and leave you alone. What they do is this...tell you they spotted a mistake in the postcode and are checking if the cheque was actually received by you! yet when you get the cheque there is no mistake.. it is an excuse to call you as if they are helping out. So you bank the cheque and they call again to chase payment... its now only 5 days since cheque has been at the bank. Legally a cheque doesnt clear for 15 days still (although it will clear into your bank account in 3 days.. the banking system doesnt formally clear for 15 days so it can still be recalled). So after 5 days you are threatened with legal action... on a case they made mistakes on and which you had to deal with and chase yourself. Its laughable. I sent a letter of complaint to the Financial ombudsman yesterday with evidence of their ineptitude. I also sent a letter formally advising them they are not to carry on with my other cases. DO NOT USE THEM... i did it for less hassle following my Dads death.... go to the internet and find the paperwork on that famous website which 'saves you money' .. you know the one. It isnt about paying them 30% ... that was worth it to me if i didnt have to deal with anything at all.... the amount of stress and the number of calls you get which they then deny, plus letters and emails will wear you down i promise
only communication is chasing there money from a win they won on behalf after sending 2 letters. Arrogant on the phone only interested in claiming there money back within 14 days and if not paid they will send to a 3rd party debt collectors to receive there money, Appaling.
Good communication and regular updates without torturing me would recommend
Excellent customer service, they helped my nan - who was certain she wasn't due anything back- claim back her mis-sold PPI quickly and kept her updated throughout the process. Would definitely recommend to anyone who isn't sure whether or not they are due anything.
