Good Experience with Eclipse

The process was easy and they were friendly and helpful. The fixes on the vehicle that needed to be done were covered. I'm happy with the way things went.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the dealership and the presentation of the vehicles, they were all immaculate. I dealt with Paul all the way through my purchase and he was very helpful and Professional and explained everything in detail, including the purchase of the extended warranty, which seems well worth the extra money.

Part exchanged a vehicle with this mob in October 2024. I have now had no less that TWO speeding summons from the court for a car I don't own anymore let alone have been possibly driving. Sales team very casual - got the impression money was all they cared about. Not worth the hassle. Asked them to rectofy the problem after the first court summons was incorrectly sent to me - was promised they would sort it out. Obviously not.

Contacted the dealership and asked to view one of their cars, explained my occupation and they catered to maybe driving it away same day it is required for transport for work immediately. They allowed us to test drive it and then made accomodations for it to be returned for MOT one month later. Drove away same day very happy with the car. I have noticed an issue with the car after one week and have contacted them and they are going to look into it at the same time as the MOT very polite. Even sent me a email detailing what they are going to do. All office very efficient polite and helpful

Nice friendly service from Paul. He helped me buy my car and was happy to correct a few minor bits on it. I was also given a good deal on my old car which I part exchanged.

Buying a car is always slightly stressful. I found the whole experience to be easy and straightforward thanks to Paul who managed the sale smoothly and straightforward. All my questions were answered. I feel I have confidence that I have a good car with after sales advice should I have any more questions.
I would definitely buy from Eclipse again based on my positive experience.

Absolutely would not recommend buying a car from here.
I bought a 'trade sale' Mercedes C Class for £2995. This car had failed an mot in February so was put in for a new mot in April when I agreed to buy the car. Once again it failed because the failures from the previous mot had not been repaired, which shocked me as they were there in plain black and white for everyone to see on the gov.uk mot history site. Check it out for yourself and you will see this. Car reg. KN61BSN.
So it went back to the workshop to get the serious defects repaired and was put through a re-test on the morning I was collecting the car.
So the serious defects were the parking brake efficiency below requirements, emissions exceed specified limit and rear sub frame corroded and seriously weakened.
I sat and waited for 2 hours at the car sales for the car to go for the re-test. My husband had to leave me there to go to work and I had a meeting to attend at 2pm. The car was brought to the sales at 12.30, I had a quick drive up the road and left.
The following morning I parked up on my daughters driveway, which has a slight incline. The parking brake failed which alarmed me, as this was meant to be repaired for the car to have passed it's mot. So I called the car sales and spoke to Paul, who we had dealt with from the beginning and explained what had happened. He told me they always advise to leave a car in gear anyway when you park up. I explained that this was dangerous and an mot failure, so couldn't understand why the car had passed the previous day. He then told me to contact him again on Monday to get the car booked in the workshop to be looked at.
I then decided to take the car to Halfords to get checked over as my doubts were starting to creep in about the mot. Halfords checked the car over and then told me NONE of the mot work had been done.
The handbrake was dangerous, the emissions still failed and the rear sub frame had just been painted black. Apparently this is a grey area with mot's because if the corrosion can't be seen then it can't be failed.
They advised me to get straight on to the car sales and tell them I wanted a refund.
I emailed Eclipse and told them exactly what had happened. They agreed to refund me the £2995 I paid for the car and the £90 fuel I had put in it. No quibbles at all...take that as good after service or they knew they had been caught out and didn't want a fuss...you decide.
For reference the garage that mot'd the car was MCS garage services at Fisher's Pond.
My advise to anyone considering buying a car from here would be to take it for an independent check.
Roy the owner may respond saying he has a different version of events, as I have seen in previous replies to 1 star reviews, but I can assure you this is exactly what happened and I have the email chain between myself and Paul that proves everything I have stated here.
And just to add...4 days after me returning the car it is back up for sale on their website and also on Autotrader for an extra £500! Makes me think they got the work done the minute I returned it (lose the evidence) and the £500 was the cost!
