Perfect easy to use and eco-friendly
Perfect easy to use and eco-friendly and the clothes smell good too
Allergic reaction to this!!!
So I thought I would give this a go as it states it's good for allergy's.... Well my 2 year old daughter has got such a bad reaction. Swollen eyes and lips and red raised blotches all over her body that is very itchy which has now led to eczema..... We were in a&e in and out for 4 days.
I am not all all happy with this product... It also has no smell. Didn't get rid of any stains. I would avoid...
I thought this was such a great idea
I thought this was such a great idea, cost effective and eco-friendly. However I'm hugely disappointed as it really doesn't do the job, so with great reluctance I'm returning to more conventional washing products.
Been using EcoEgg washing machineâŠ
Been using EcoEgg washing machine alternatives for at least a year now (convinced it was working). With the first wash I ever did with the egg, my clothes came out smelling amazing - just how I expected - but ever since then I've not smelt anything on the clothes at all. I still see stains that are easy enough to wipe off with my fingers (meaning the egg should be able to wash it off), and it just smells damp/doesn't feel fresh.
It's such a great idea but so disappointed it's not living up to the expectations I originally had.
I was so excited to find this seeminglyâŠ
I was so excited to find this seemingly perfect product - money saving and good for the product. Sadly itâs been a real disappointment. Yes it lasts for the correct amount of time but the washing doesnât smell fresh (tried orange blossom and linen), and it doesnât remove any food marks. Iâve had to give up on it which Iâm sad about as now Iâve got another bit of useless plastic in the house.
Whilst the idea is highly commendable
Whilst the idea is highly commendable, I have found that the standard of cleaning, even keeping temperature up at 40â, is not very good. Stains left on clothes, napkins etc.
I would suggest Using the scented option, as it makes the clothes smell cleaner.
Iâve been using the eco egg in myâŠ
Iâve been using the eco egg in my washing machine for a couple of months. I use a 30° wash which takes about an hour. So far so good but I will watch my whites per the reviews but it has certainly coped with grease stains on clothes, I just dab a bit of vanish on the stain pre-wash. Also brilliant on mud. Donât understand peopleâs need for scent on their washing - the best scent is fresh air! Dry outside if you can but most artificial scents dissipate quite quickly anyway. Cheaper, works well so far and takes up a lot less space than powder or capsules.
£40 of products - waste of money
I bought over £40 of Eco Egg products and do not recommend them at all. The fragrance sticks are falling out of the dryer eggs after every cycle, and after using the washing egg, it doesn't leave my clothes smelling of anything but damp. There's no fragrance, even after using the detox tab, and clothes are coming out of the machine dirty. Really disappointed because I had hoped the product would be as good as advertised - unfortunately not. I now have lots of spare fragrance sticks and boxes of pellets that I'll never use.
Really can't understand the negative wash reviews n this
I have had my eco egg for a few months now and I think it is amazing, cleans and is good on fabrics.
It's not ok to use the quick wash option. I have had to alter my washing methods. I now use the programmes that specify synthetics, cottons, wool etc and usually put the t
emp to between the 30 an 50 temp, I have previously used the quickest cycle possible, my cycles are now usually the 2.5 hour cycles
I no longer use it for my whites, terrible on whites. I go back to standard powder and high temp wash for those
I have a used dettol bottle that I put two capfuls of neat dettol in and fill with water. In every load I add two capfuls of this dilution to the powder drawer. I have been doing this since the start of the pandemic and before I used the eco egg
I still add cap of softener
I have found that it has improved some of my fabrics/woollens. I have an aged hand knitted cable jumper. The wool was a bit taut and was a bit shrunken. The egg seems to have released the structure somehow and it seems 'released'. It appears to be the length it used to be, which is great beacause I love my scrag jumper. Not getting any bobbles either
Dryer ecoegg
We purchased the dryer ecoeggs. The first ones the fragrance sticks keen falling out after a couple months. we purchased 2 more and the same thing. Then contacted ecoegg a few weeks ago and not had a response.
Just didn't deliver as promised
Bought this product on a recommendation from a friend. It delivers on removing stains but we're both active people and it's not removing general body odour/smells from the clothes. Pretty disappointed as if this worked it might be a great alternative.
3months in
I initially wrote a review as was impressed... However 3 months in and after persevering with it we are giving up. Whites are no longer white, more of a grey/cream colour and having to re wash alot of items. Have used the same wash cycle all the way through but it's not for us anymore, I want my clothes clean and having to re wash defeats the object of being economical.
Very disappointed with the ecoegg
Bought the egg after the tv programme, cleaned the machine and started to use but clothes do not come out of the machine clean or fresh. At 30 degrees there were dark stains on the clothes and I had to re wash. At higher temperatures clothes did not seem clean at all. We would have loved this product to work but sadly will not use again and will now contact customer services.
First impressions are good
First impressions are good . Clothes came out clean and fresh , didnât need to use my normal softener either . Itâs a big thumbs up from me ð
I posted here recently regarding theâŠ
I posted here recently regarding the eco egg washing method and thought I should update my post. Eco Egg is a non bio washing product, those in the "know" will realise that non bio is not as good as biological detergents. I accept this, I use softener as I've always done plus a half portion of Oxiclean if the clothes are stained - pretty standard I think. The results are good but noticed that you have to dry the items more quickly than usual or they can smell a bit musty. Brilliant NO but does the job if you keep the pellets topped up i.e. don't leave it for 50/70 washes, I've found it's more like 30/40 washes.
Love my Eco Egg
Love my Eco Egg, I don't use the dryer one so can't comment. That being said I love the eco aspect, I use the non-scented refills and have no issues with them at all.
I love my egg
I love my egg and my daughter has just started using one too. I am not a fan of strong smelling powder or softener, so the lack of smell is a positive for me.
Not so eco...
I brought the egg after seeing it on the telly and attempting to be more eco. The first 5 washes were great and I could slightly smell the fragrance, also clothes were clean. .. However.. Now clothes just aren't coming out clean and having to re-wash so defeats the object... Have tried many differant cycles but no differance... Looks like I'll be going back to my previous powder which is a shame.
Nope
The ecoegg isn't very efficient at lower temperatures though a bit better at 60. It doesn't remove marks and stains very well. e.g. it won't take the make-up marks out of face masks. I'm afraid it's a no from here. The tumble drier eggs seem to do the job though, we'll be keeping those
