Couldn’t recommend Darren more. Friendly, helpful and on hand when we needed him. He really helped us with what seemed initially like an awkward situation and smoothed the whole process out. We couldn’t be happier with our install and the proof really is in the savings.

I’m probably the biggest headache Darren has ever had to deal with! I came into this process SUPER sceptical — our property, its size, and the lack of certain requirements made me doubt whether anything would run smoothly.

But from the very first consultation, Darren changed my mind. He walked me through everything clearly, addressed every concern, and made the whole process feel effortless.

Work is still ongoing, but everything so far has been absolutely flawless. The team has been amazing - professional, friendly, and clearly experts at what they do.

Darren quickly and efficiently sorted out the mass of paperwork so we could get a heat pump and improved insulation at no cost.
The house is warmer, hot water without waiting for the old combi to kick in, and we're saving a lot of money that was going to Calor.
I recommended him to my daughter, and she's waiting for her installation to be done.

Honestly couldn’t recommend this enough. I moved into my house last year and must admit it was a very cold and expensive winter, now, within 2 weeks I have internal wall insulation which makes no difference to the size of the rooms, even the small ones, tidied up the windows and sills, new efficient storage heaters, kitchen ventilation, solar panels and a bathroom heater all done under this scheme. Everyone who worked on it was lovely and done a really good job. Big shout out to the plasterers who’ve done a particularly nice job of skimming around the stone fireplace. Thank you Darren for organising!

We had a horrible experience with CES and were very dispondent and then along came Darren, like a knight in shinning armour!
Cannot praise him highly enough, from the minute he walked in, until the project was complete he has shown to be extremely honest and trustworthy. He sat and explained everything, he is polite, funny and very kind as well as being totally knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble.
Darren kept in contact the whole way through the installation and after to make sure everything was ok. He delivered on what he promised and introduced us to Smart Energy Homes.
This company is also fantastic, the teams they sent out went above and beyond to complete the project. Everyone from the guys in the office to the teams that came to the house have made the experience beyond our expectations in a totally great way and we now have a lovely insulated house with a great heating and solar system, all the work done is exceptionally good and of a high standard.
So MASSIVE THANKS Darren for everything you did to ensure the project took off and was completed and see you next year for the service of the system

I can’t recommend Darren highly enough. I’m a retired man living on the coast in an old prefabricated bungalow with a poor EPC rating, so I never thought I’d be able to get the improvements I needed. Darren helped me secure a government grant that covered solar panels, a water heater, and insulation in both the loft and walls – all completely free.

The process took about 18 months (the first company he found dropped out, through no fault of his), but Darren stuck with it, kept me informed, and made sure everything moved forward.

Once the work started, it was all completed within about 2 weeks. The workmen were friendly, efficient, and did a great job despite the challenges of working on an older property.

I felt very well looked after throughout, and the difference to my home is amazing. I’m far less worried about the winter now, and I can already feel the improvements. If you’re thinking about it, definitely get in touch with Darren – you won’t regret it.

Eco Energy Experts are absolutely amazing, if you are looking for Eco Grant company, these are the ones for you.
We first met Darren the Eco Energy Expert, who spent over two hours with us explaining all the grant work. He was very friendly, polite, patient and no questions were to much. You are a star, thank you so much. Would highly recommend.
We were then put in touch with The Smart Energy Team, all the office staff were so lovely, kind and friendly, helping us with any questions.
All the work teams are absolutely superb, the workmanship is to a very high standard, cleaning up as they went along, extremely friendly and outgoing and explained things thoroughly and patiently to me. (I am a very nervous person). Nothing was to much, i cannot thank them enough. Please give these lads a pay rise, bonus and a holiday, they worked extremely hard. I would highly recommend all the team we had, from Dave the Surveyor, the two Jordans, Jason and Evan(Loft insulation, vents e.t.c) Mac and Joe and all their plumbing team, Gareth and Sam the electricians, Dave the inspector and Keith/Mike who commissioned the Air Source. All of whom are absolutely outstanding. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this company.

Darren was great throughout the entire process, always on hand to answer any questions we had. If we had any problems, he would take care of it with the suppliers. We’ve now had all the work done - air source heat pump, cavity wall insulation and solar panels and it was all done with minimal mess / disruption. Early in the day to comment on the system as it’s only been in a week but so far so good. Having Darren there to answer questions throughout the project was invaluable. Thank you

Darren from eco energy was great. There was no stress or worries he sorted everything out. When the team was her doing the work he keep checking to make shore everything was ok and the team of plump that come out where next level top marker. They work very clean and where so polite I would highly recommend them to anyone

Once Darren had taken over our ECO4 installation, things worked very smoothly and well. We opted to go all-electric with modern storage heaters and solar panels with battery. The result thus far as been very satisfactory with warm comfort throughout the house. Darren recommended ECOtec as lead installers and their people worked extremely hard and quickly, one aspect following the previous seamlessly. Darren was always available to clear up any problems. Well done.

They answered the phone promptly were polite and efficient.
Their workforce were very hardworking, turned up when they said they would, were knowledgeable and happy to explain any queries.

My first call for help was to Darren Gill at ECO energy experts.
Within that week the man himself called at my cold and dilapidated home.
Darren explained the EPC4 funding and he made me feel at ease completing the online forms.
I am disabled and I have health issues, my home had an EPC rating of G2 and I had an income much less than the £32,000.00 cut off for the funding.
Darren took loads of pictures of my home, measured every room, checked the construction and age of the building, by asking me questions.
He assured me that the lack of heating, insulation and also my windows and doors needed attention and that was all in my favour to having the EPC4 grant.
Darren then explained that he would do everything in regards to applying for this EPC4 grant, once I decided what route I wanted to apply for the funding.
Due to my disability, my lack of income, my health needs and benefits I was able to take any of the options offered. I was told I am able to take either the health route, a benefits route or my income route.
I chose the health option and Darren supplied the form to give to my Doctor, for her to back up my disability and health issues, by my Doctor completing the form and signing it for the Council, I was assured my application would have a good chance of success.
I was so grateful for his time and for explaining everything.
That was the last time I met Darren face to face, but no sooner than he had called, a professional surveyor called to do a plan of my home, take more photos and assess my roof and walls.
I had several phone calls off the ECO energy experts office and Darren kept me updated.
I was also able to phone, Email and text the ECO energy experts office and Darren for information.
This company is second to none and they made this EPC4 process seem posable.
Some time passed and out of the blue, Darren phoned me to say the EPC4 grant had been passed and the team from ECO energy experts would be calling to look over my home to prepare for solar panels, a heat pump, loft insulation and inside wall insulation.
Within a month I was given a date for my wall insulation to be done. Three fabulous professionals did that work and it took two weeks. I then had scaffolding put up at the front and back of my home for three professional and again polite men to install the soler panels. The next day three Electricians changed some sockets, fitted switches and installed the solar panels wiring and again the team were so kind and courteous and they explained they would call back after the plumbers had finished installing the heating pump, the hot water tank and huge radiators.
The next day the plumbing team arrived and got on with their work without any problems, or disruption to my life.
In all the whole job was completed within three weeks and I can't thank the company enough for their dedication to their employer and me the customer. The teams of workers doing the jobs were so helpful and kind, I can not fault anyone of them.
Darren has been available throughout and without his input, I would never have benefited by having all this unbelievable grant work done by such a caring and professional team.

After several dispiriting experiences with other companies, I contacted Darren about getting solar panels and he was positive and professional from the start. He guided me through the process and although the funding took a while to come through, he persevered and I now have the panels installed. On researching who to trust to fulfill an eco4 grant we decided to contact eco energy experts . Darren was great from the start & kept in contact with us throughout .
The process has been superb , yes there will be disruption but the whole team are very tidy & helpful. It was perfect timing for us as it was time to redecorate anyway .
We are so pleased with the works carried out . We can already feel the benefit of the insulation .

Having worked in the construction industry I was a little worried to say the least before starting our eco journey. Darren came out to survey the property, which he did fast & efficiently. He advised us that we could have Solar Panels, a New Heating System, Internal Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation. “What’s the catch” I asked? To which he replied “None at all, it’s all Grant Funded”. He went through every element of the work, from the old heating system being decommissioned, Electric sockets being repositioned, Internal wall insulation, new Plasterboard and Plaster, then the installs of the heating system, Solar and lastly the loft insulation. I was still sceptical but we agreed to go ahead. This was November 2023. We asked for some time to empty the attics (after 20 years of storing items in it) and we agreed on a start date of the beginning of March. During this time, the various trades carried out there own surveys, agreements were made on Radiator Positions (and extra rads if required) and the siting of the Air Source Pump and Hot Water Cylinder.
When March arrived, The Plasters arrived and after a brief chat, they covered every carpet and went to work. Nothing was too much trouble for them, great lads and a brilliant finish too. The plumbers came in and fitted the heating and ASHP and the scaffold was erected for the Solar panels. Following that the Electricians installed the panels and Invertor and carried out all the necessary work.
So, the catch! There really isn’t one. Yes, you will have to redecorate if you have the Internal Insulation, but for what you have done, a few pots of paint are nothing.
Yes, there is an upheaval, yes there is a bit of a mess (although all trades did tidy up) it is inevitable.
Was it worth it? Oh yes. We have been running this now for 12 months (before leaving this review on purpose), the house has never been warmer. The walls were 600mm Stone (our house was built in 1900), and yes, we added 150mm to them, but what a difference it has made.
Would I go through it again? Without a doubt I would. I have already recommended Darren to some friends and family and will keep on doing so.
Our house is summer warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We have Hot water that you can’t keep your hand under (although the temperature can be turned down if you wish) and we get money back from our Electric Supplier. You really can’t go wrong with this scheme.
