We certainly don’t recognise ourselves as “the worst agency in the UK,” but we do understand that when expectations aren’t met, it can feel incredibly frustrating. We are not perfect, and we admit we occasionally get things wrong. However, the small percentage we can’t fulfil is usually due to genuine illness, and in some rural areas, we do experience higher cancellation rates because of the limited availability of entertainers.

In terms of deposits and entertainer payments, deposits are in place to secure professional performers and protect the booking date. We work with hundreds of entertainers across the UK and aim to balance fair pay for them while keeping pricing competitive for customers. The suggestion that bookings are simply “blagged last minute” isn’t how our system operates; entertainers are confirmed through our booking process and matched based on availability and suitability for the event.

That said, we’re sorry to hear your booking was cancelled last minute — we understand how disappointing and stressful that is, especially when you’ve planned around it. We also want to be clear that we’re not a fraudulent company. We handle around 110–160 bookings each weekend and maintain roughly a 97% attendance rate. On the rare occasions a booking can’t go ahead, the most common reason is unexpected illness, and in a small number of cases (around 3%) we’re unable to source a suitable replacement at short notice.

We are not perfect, and we admit we occasionally get things wrong. If you email us with the booking ID, date, postcode, and what was booked, we’ll look into exactly what happened in your case and respond properly. We manage around 110–160 bookings most weekends with roughly a 97% attendance rate, and when cancellations do happen it’s most commonly due to genuine illness. That said, we’re not perfect, and we admit we occasionally get things wrong.

To be completely clear, we do not run scams — and we strongly refute that suggestion. If an entertainer becomes unavailable close to the booking time, we’ll always try to source a replacement, but depending on where the booking is located and how last-minute the change is, additional travel costs can sometimes apply. However, this should be explained clearly, handled professionally, and never feel like pressure or a surprise.

Because no town/city is mentioned in your review, it’s also worth noting that in some rural areas we experience higher cancellation rates due to the limited availability of entertainers — and that can make last-minute replacements more challenging and travel-heavy.

That being said, I can see how upsetting this must have been for you, especially as you were left waiting on the night of your sister’s 30th when you had already dealt with the disappointment of the first entertainer being unwell.
