Difficult to communicate with!
The only way one can discuss prescription issues is first, with an automated system, no live person, and it took almost 30 minutes of answering questions not related to the reason I called. Finally, the automated system decided to transfer my call to a live associate. However, I spent nearly another 30 minutes trying to get them to understand the reasons for my call and they refused to transfer my call to a pharmacist who could have helped me in minutes. So, I decided to email express scripts explaining my issue, but they do not let anyone have access to their email address. I finally found their mailing address, so I will be composing a registered letter to EXPRESS SCRIPES, 4750 E 450 SOUTH, WHITETOWN, IN 46075. This appears to be a very difficult and unfriendly pharmacy to deal with. If I had been allowed to speak to someone with pharmacy knowledge, my issue would have been managed in just a few minutes. As such, it seems to be going on and on. I do not recommend this company, their website, and the associate was unknowledgeable, not helpful with my issue and unwilling to take that extra step to help a customer. Finally, a kind and helpful supervisor was able so shed light on my issue and was very kind helpful and concerned. However, the time it took to reach that level was unacceptable and the automated system was horable.

I really wish I had checked the reviews for Express Scripts before switching to mail order. This is an ongoing nightmare. The ones arriving are not the ones I needed or requested to refill. The one med I did need they wouldn't fill until the refill date - making no allowance for mail time. So I was out for several days. They wanted $26 for overnight delivery. What a racket.

This is the absolute WORST company to deal with! They give conflicting information, they deny your medication even though they say it is covered. They are patronizing on the phone if you are actually able to get hold of a live representative. They give you the runaround and cause you to go long periods of time without your medication. I would never use them again if my employer would switch to a different prescription provider.

When your prescription comes up for renewal don't click the button for express script to send a renewal to your doctor. Call your doctor and ask for a renewal from your doctor. I take an inhaled steroid and the prescription gives me 3 inhalers for $76.00. If you allow express scripts to communicate with the Doctor you will receive 1 inhaler for $76.00 even though express scripts know you have had 3 prescriptions filled for the past 5 years for the same amount. They will rip you off and say they can't tell the doctor to ask for 3 at the same price.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. You must stay on top of them to get what you need. The app isn't the most user friendly. I transferred a prescription from Walgreens to E.S. I even called their customer service to let them know I needed both strengths to equal the amount I'm supposed to get. E.g., I'm to get 75 mcg, but the drug co. doesn't make this strength, so I get 25+50, so that's 2 different prescriptions. The lady left me on hold for 27 minutes to speak to the pharmacist to ensure I got both. Did I get both? Nope. Just the 25 mcg one. I called to let them know, and absolutely the tech took zero Accountability.

I was astounded at the number of one star reviews as well as the consistency of the issues noted. in the past two months I have had 6 prescriptions cancelled. I have had to call my Dr office multiple times to get a prescription sent to a local pharmacy. I have been told multiple times that my Dr has not responded. The Dr Office was able to provide dates and times of their response. I made at least 12 phone calls from late June until this week. 12 calls in 3 weeks. I am starting Medicare in November, and I will choose a prescription plan that does not use express scripts.

The prescriber has been obliterated from the label. When I called Express Scripts they denied sending it to the patient. They offered a phone review but sensing the worst they disconnected me. Horrible company
One of the worst mail order companies I have dealt with. Every time I need a refill I have to go through hoops to get it done. When I was allowed to refill at Walgreens my refills were done in 1 day. With express scripts it takes about 3-4 weeks before they approve my refills. Very very frustrating! Wish I could change my plan. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IF YOU DONT HAVE TO!!!

Express Scrips has a habit of denying medications. Every time you try and get it resolved, they give a different reason for the denial. These are medications that a licensed U.S. physician has ordered. These meds are also covered by my insurance plan. Express Scripts is the worst medical company I have ever done business with.

Express Scripts is so hard to work with. First off it should not be a 20-minute frustrating experience to get a live human on the phone! Now onto the whole experience. This is the absolute worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. I am now on year two of this crap customer service as this is the insurance my employer forces us to use. If you need a medication urgently you are out of luck! It take forever to get medication from them Several times I have paid full price for medication because I cantr wait for them to fill them. Second is the lengthy process of getting preauthorization done on medications you have been taking for years! I have now been without a much-needed medication for two weeks and still no resolve. My wife needs a medication that is on backorder, there is an alternate but they will not approve that either!! I am at my wit's end with this company!!! PEOPLE NEED MEDS!!
The worst pharmacyâŠ
I have been an Express Scripts customer on and off for over 10 years. During that time, nothing has ever changed. They have consistently been negligent in providing our prescriptions to us. I have NEVER been a customer by choice. I am forced by my medical insurance plan. They are the worst pharmacy I have ever done business with. Express Scripts always has some excuse as to why we never receive our prescriptions. When my doctor sends in a prescription, I have to call to verify they have received it, tell them to fill it and call back multiple times to confirm that they are processing and shipping it. My doctor sent in a prescription on the 3rd of the month. I received an email from Express Scripts stating that they received the order and I would receive my medication by the 13th. I logged into their website daily to verify the status which continued to read "processing." On the 10th, I called and was told that the order was processing and it takes 5-7 days. Finally on the 13th I received an email that stated a tracking number had been created. So, it looks like I will receive the medication around the 17th. This is only one of thousands of issues I have had with them. Luckily, I have a few days left to carry me through the 14 days they have taken to get my medication to me. Otherwise, this story would have had information about spending hours on the phone with Express Scripts and bothering my doctor to have to send an additional prescription to the local pharmacy to obtain enough medication to last until they can figure out why they can't get my regular prescription to me in a timely manner. I would NEVER recommend Express Scripts to anyone, EVER.
I ended up receiving the medication on the 18th. Ridiculous.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. I was extremely overcharged for a medication that I opened before seeing the charge (I assumed it would be less than $20). I was charged $130 for a small tube of cream for cystic acne on my face.
I initiated a Tier Review/Price Reduction & was Denied. I appealed & was Denied. They said Dr. never responded. Ombudsman at Cleveland Clinic said she did. They denied me again. I got a new Dr as I was being f*cked from both sides. They still refuse to lower the $130 (just the copay & deductible) charge for a small tube of cream for cystic acne on my face. The same tube of cream can be purchased with a GoodRx Coupon thru CVS for $35 (online with no prescription for $25). They are charging $330.00 total price for this medication!!!
THIS IS MEDICAL ABUSE!!! I'm dealing with severe health & energy issues & Express Scripts has literally hurt my health with all this unnecessary stress. They are harming & taking advantage of vulnerable people in their most vulnerable state; AVOID & HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

As I read the other reviews it's the same over and over. Customer service is a joke. Nobody can tell you anything and it is an exercise giving the robot all the information before they might decide you can speak to a human today. I got the same story. the doctor did not send. Funny, EVERY other script from the same doc arrived to you. And you also claimed my specialist did not send script but, you got one of them. Now they also say they need authorization for a drug I have taken for 10 YEARS. EXPRESS SCIPTS stinks!! Our health care system is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!

prescription was sent to them electronically. I spoke to at least 4 people, the medication was in stock , it was being filled, showed on their portal all was fine. 3 days later, the date of the request was changed to same day ( 3rd day) and they were out of stock. "oh we're sorry, other people were in line in front of you"... but 3 days ago all was fine and my meds were coming. They told me they had it in stock, I did everything they asked and I still get nothing but lies. Their communication is poor but they want to blow you up in texts and emails. "do a survey-- so we can improve". I have HAD to use this place for at least 10 years and it has never gotten any better. Im done. I will move all of my meds (unfortunately they make a killing off me) NO MORE! I'M DONE! They are a complete joke.
They force you to use THEIR pharmacies @ the expense of your health
At the last minute they changed my "coverage" for a medication that I have to receive in a clinic 2x/week which can only be filled at a specialty clinic. My coverage supposedly changed so that it could only be filled at a particular pharmacy - so in having to switch pharmacies I missed a week of my treatments, which led me to be quite sick.
It turns out, the specialty pharmacy that they had me switch to is a PHARMACY OWNED BY THEM. That is the ONLY reason they forced me to switch. So I could put money in their pocket - or more accurately, so they wouldn't have to put money in someone else's pocket. Disgusting.

Do not order from this company! Express scripts puts profits over customers health. I tried to get my heart meds filled by Express scripts since February and finally I cancelled the order to go to the company I used to use, and suprise suprise the med arrived the next day after I cancelled it. Insurance won't cover the rx from my old company and Express scripts won't reverse the charges. This is a scam company, your life is littealy in danger using them.They do not care about people at all!!! Please avoid them at all costs. I would give them a zero if I could.
Tried using Express Scripts twice
Tried using Express Scripts for the first time nine years ago and they sent my daughters controlled prescription to our old house which we had never use this address or ever used Express Scripts service. Try again to use Express Scripts three months ago. My order was OK but I had to upgrade to overnight shipping to get my medicine that they sat on for seven days. Tried to use Express Scripts last Friday, once again, my order sat in processing for the last five days, but they charge my credit card the very next day when I called in I talked to the rudest and most condescending customer service person in the world. The supervisor that I requested to speak to was very nice and was able to help me cancel my order. Now I have to wait 48hrs for my prescriptions to be released and to add insult to injury I am out of some of my heart and diabetes medication. I will never use Express Scripts again and I hope you donât.

My company switched to Cigna a couple of years ago and we were also forced to use Express Scripts Pharmacy. My experiences have been nothing but an exercise in frustration. They have messed up my prescriptions too many times to count and calling customer service is a joke. If you have a choice do not do business with this company.
