Just received two of these buttons

Just received two of these buttons. They work just as the ad say. Customer service is awesome. I wanted the buttons to work inside a non supported app "Go Button" This app is set up to either you manually push your "Cues" and "Hits," or have someone manually start them. Was able to get the Flic to start the "Cues" however you can not separate the "Cues" and "Hits' this is not a Flic issue, it's within GO Button's design for manual use.

Unbelievably bad

Unbelievably bad. No concept of customer service, constantly sending junk spam emails
And other more reliable/cheaper options like Hue Buttons

Expensive but good

Great product but expensive and postage from Sweden very pricey. Nevertheless we use ours several times daily and well worth having. Easy to set up and use.

Great customer service

Put in an order but accidentally put an old address for delivery. Customer service fixed it immediately and the shipment was delivered very quickly. No issues with the hub and buttons since 2020 purchase. Expanding the system now. Great product. Great service.

Not worth the price.

Pretty disappointed that I invested money in this platform.

The dials are expensive, cumbersome, and don't work half of the time. The original buttons disconnect from the controller often, and aren't responsive.

Literally any other ZWave or Zigbee button has been a better (and cheaper) investment. I really wish I wouldn't have purchased any flic devices.

Turn pages at the pipe organ

I used the Flic button to turn pages on my iPad while playing a complicated job on a pipe organ. It worked great. My only suggestion would be to offer a slightly smaller size so it’s easier to place between keyboards .

Prodotto ottimo, installazione e programmazione semplicissima. Rispondono ai comandi con estrema velocità e senza mai fallire. Veramente soddisfatto per l’acquisto. Unico punto da migliorare è la spedizione: tempi troppo lunghi, una settimana intera per lasciare la Germania e un’altra per arrivare a casa mia.

It’s working quickly

It’s working quickly, what surprised me. On the negative side it’s impossible to adjust brightness of my Nanoleaf with Flic Twist

Unfortunately, you cannot control Nanoleaf actions with the Twist rotation. You can Push or Double-Push to turn On/Off, but cannot rotate to adjust brightness.
However, Nanoleaf lights that are Matter compatible can be added to the Hub and be controlled by the Twist.

Stickers not worth it - needs more thought…

In reply to the reply from Flic:
1. Noted re the HomeKit pairing ( though I still suspect you could code your way around it somehow).
2. You didn’t answer my comment on the stickers. The selection is terrible, and not at all wide. Especially for the cost. I use my Flic buttons for:
Heating
AC
Velux windows
Blinds
Bedtime routine
Cooking routine
Morning routine

It wouldn’t take much imagination to add some more. And how about some blanks so I can create my own?

As it stands I would not recommend anyone to buy the stickers. I mean, who wants a button with a poo emoji? Really?

Shortcut labs refuses to implement IR…

Shortcut labs refuses to implement IR on The Flic Twist, making it unusable for any volume control apart from a very expensive Sonos system. It's an incredibly obvious and simple task to offer CW/CCW turn control to their already existing IR module, yet, after a full year, nothing. Total waste of money.

Hi David,

On our webpage, it is clearly stated that the IR blaster works with only the Flic buttons paired to the Flic Hub. It is our believe that customers must have read this clearly before making their purchase on the website. More so, we never promised or stated that the Flic Twist can be paired to the IR blaster.

While in theory it seems like a seemingly simple task, but in practice, it is pretty complex in implementation. Flic is not planning on pursuing its implementation, neither is it in our future road map at the moment.

Matter On/Off beta bug squashed by the flic support team!

I have been using the flic 2 buttons with hub for several years now. My use case is pretty simple, I use a Kasa smart plug to control a bedroom lamp that is scheduled to come on at sunset each day for our dog Charlie. The reason for the flic buttons is that we do not bring our devices into the bedroom because they distract us from going to sleep at a decent hour. I also do not use any voice control devices either, the buttons are mounted to either side bed table to shut off the light when we get in bed. We cannot use the lamp switch because it would override the smart plug defeating the purpose. In my scenario I had to use the middleware IFTT because Kasa is not a direct partner with flic and for some reason I would frequently have to reset the IFTT applet so this functionality would run. Enter matter the “universal” smart home protocol to make devices more compatible. I noticed that flic had two matter options in beta so I looked and found a new matter Kasa smart plug (I have several other Kasa devices so I tried to stay in the ecosystem). When I tried to utilize the flic matter beta action it would not let me although the rest of the setup went flawlessly. I reached out to the flic support team and they responded and asked for a video of the issue and immediately diagnosed a bug within the beta function part of the app. Within a short period of time they had pushed an update to the flic app and I was able to utilize the matter action and disconnect the IFTT applets so my function is local to my WiFi network instead of having to utilize the internet making the reaction time more instantaneous than it was before.

Got a free upgrade to my order

While ordering a starter kit, but got an LR kit instead, which contains a better router.
While writing to Flic.io about it, they left the LR kit with me, so I got a free upgrade.
They were very responsive during the whole process. The package arrived on time and everything is working smoothly as expeced - great service, great product.

Extra Tax Bill

Extra Tax Bill. Like others I got an unexpected bill of £56 from FedEx a few weeks after my product was delivered. The website that these products are sold on is in English and the prices are displayed in GBP - it seems like they should be able to advertise the true price of the product in the UK market.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Like others, the duties charge is for orders to the UK which goes over the set threshold. We do not control this as it is levied on you by the UK govt via FedEx.

As at when you ordered, the information about additional charge was clearly stated in the cart page before you checkout. We always advice customers to confirm this before making their purchases.

Recently, we have made new adjustments and put things in place to navigate this and to better include these fees during checkout. Now, customers get to pay it upfront and are not sent additional fees by FedEx.

Once again, we apologise for the inconveniences the old method may have caused.

A limited button with awful customer service

The button has many limitations with connectivity. My sole reason for buying this was to control aspects on my MacBook. The connection to my phone was great, but I could not connect to my MacBook, just as many, many others have reported.

I got in touch with customer service and had an awful experience. The staff that I spoke with did not fully read my responses and asked questions that were already answered, asking me to provide videos of a completely different, fabricated, issue.

Hugely disappointed in the product and Flic's customer service.

Same as loads of other people, got an unexpected tax bill, if its so clear on the website how come so many people keep getting caught. On top of misleading advertising this is one of the worst tech products I've ever had the misfortune of buying. Please keep well clear of this company.

Hi Martin, we understand the frustration that comes with additional tax bills. However, that charge is for importation of items to the UK which goes over the set threshold. We do not charge for that, rather, it is levied on you by the UK govt.

This information is boldly written and stated in the cart page before you checkout. We kindly advice that you check again and see where it is written. This information can also be found in the "Shipping info" page.

Expensive to buy - and then the import costs!

The product is expensive, but works OK. Needs more standard integrations as it is very complex for anything other than a few products.

The very expensive buttoned become eye wateringly expensive when the FedEx bill arrives for import duties. This is not clear on purchase. I regularly purchase products from overseas and NEVER pay import duties - Flic need to resolve this and take responsibility, yet they show NO desire to own the problem.

I had a problem with changing the…

I had a problem with changing the battery. Could not remove the back of the 2nd Gen button. Contacted support and they were prompt and answered my question. They even provided a short video to resolve the issue.
