Never Again!!!!!

My flight from Dubai to the Maldives with FlyDubai was one of the worst airline experiences I’ve ever had. The cabin crew was rude and arrogant from the very beginning. I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get a glass of water, even though I asked politely. When I finally received it, it was handed to me with clear reluctance, as if I was bothering them.

I wasn’t allowed to use the toilet because of some very light and brief turbulence. When I tried again shortly after, I was denied again, which felt unnecessary and overly strict.

After about an hour into the flight, due to the air conditioning, we had extremely dry mouths and were very thirsty. However, after the earlier experience with asking for water, I actually felt afraid to ask again, seeing how unfriendly the crew was. So I decided to buy something instead and ordered a Coke, planning to pay for it. Unfortunately, I never received it – even though the flight attendant walked past me at least ten times, she completely ignored me.

On top of that, there was a lot of chaos with seating arrangements. Passengers were asked three times to change seats so families could sit together. Even those who were clearly unhappy were forced to move, despite having selected and paid for their seats in advance, which was unprofessional and unfair.

The crew was unprofessional, unfriendly, and showed no interest in passenger comfort. Also, the flight was delayed by 40 minutes, and we weren’t informed about it in advance.

I do not recommend FlyDubai. This was a very unpleasant flight and left a truly negative impression.
Absolutely disappointing flight with FlyDubai. You’re not even allowed to watch a movie for free – unlike normal airlines. For four hours we had to stare at the ceiling. No screen, no sound, no music – nothing. Everything comes with an extra charge. Never again.

Rude service and no compensation on significant schedule change

I booked a ticket from Milan Bergamo to Lahore, and at the time of booking, the layover in Dubai was 2 hours. However, just a few days after my booking, the airline increased the layover to more than 6 hours without my consent or any form of compensation. This unexpected change caused me significant additional expenses, including rebooking a taxi service for post arrival and paying for an extra meal at Dubai airport.

I contacted the airline multiple times to request at least a food voucher for the extended layover, but the response was rude, and no compensation was offered for the inconvenience caused by their schedule change.

Very Unfair and Unprofessional Service by Flydubai Managment

I’ve traveled with Flydubai several times, but this recent (July 19 2025) experience left me deeply disappointed.

Due to just a 5-minute delay, I was denied boarding, even though I had no checked luggage and was ready to go through the departure gate. Flydubai staff showed zero flexibility or customer care, despite seeing I was still well within the final boarding window. This level of strictness, with no effort to support a loyal passenger, is unacceptable.

To make it worse, they rebooked me on much later flight at 17:20, I'm Supposed to go 16:00. No explanation, no apology — just a careless handling of my time and schedule. This shows poor management and complete disregard for customer experience.

I have trusted Flydubai before, but this situation was handled terribly. No one offered help or even basic empathy. I no longer feel confident flying with them, and I warn others to be cautious. Once things go wrong, you're completely on your own.

Awful

Never have I ever experienced such an ineffective treatment by the customer care. This company does not release tax invoices for European customers, which is the worst if you fly for business reasons, and talking to them by phone is quite impossible.
The email desk has biblical times of response and does not even try to help you in a concrete way.
The flight was awful, in delay, all the entertainment was to pay. I had to choose flydubai because it was the only that landed in Dubai at the time I needed, but i will never ever fly with them anymore. It definitely is not on the same level of the emirates group: it’s not like the commercial company for emirates, but more like the very cheap version, even cheaper than Ryanair. I’m so disappointed.

Pathetic Experience with Flydubai 😭

I was on check in counter at 09:02 am and my Flight was at 10:00. I was stuck in the traffic because of some accident there. They didn't let me check in for my flight and I was literally crying because I was a visitor having no money left, no relatives and no any more booking of a hotel. They asked me to purchase a New Ticket. OMG this was a Nightmare. Never Ever chose Flydubai. They have Zero Mercy for their customers

I wish there was a 0 or negative star

I wish there was a 0 or negative star. Booked a ticket for 450 Euro but then I had to cancel it. They deducted 140 Euro as cancellation fees. To my surprise, 310 Euro was returned as a voucher. Requested them to return me the money instead. They deducted 200 Euro more that. At the endy, I got 110 Euro only. Lost 340 Euro just for canceling a flight. Pathetic.

Flüg von Schymkent nach Frankfurt

Trotz gebuchte Flugtickets von Schymkent über Dubai nach Frankfurt,wegen Flügverspätung wir wurden nach Düsseldorf umgeleitet.Nach mehrere Telefonate wir haben endlich Kontakt zu einer Miteirbeiterin hergestellt.
Wir möchten uns Tausend mal bei der nettesten Dame mit dem Name Schannar im Kasachstan Bedanken für ihr Geduld und die ganze Mühe unsere Tickets umzuwandeln,das wir doch im Frankfurt landen konnten. Genauso Tausend mal Danke an Musafar Mitarbeiter am Flughafen im Schymkent, das er Zwei Stunden lang bei der Flydubai und Trip.com telefoniert hatte damit wir von Dubai nach Frankfurt fliegen konnten.
Zehn Sterne an Schannar und Musafar -Mitarbeiter bei Flydubai!!!!

Dont even opt for it even by mistake

I took the connecting flight from Dubai to Mumbai (the initial leg from London to Dubai was via Emirates and run without issues).
Firstly, they charged me extra for hand luggage arising out of duty free shopping; none of which has been a problem all these yrs for me. Queuing at the terminal was chaotic, noisy and full of hustle. Now having paid extra for the duty free, i was stopped just before boarding stating that there isnt enough space in the aircraft for the additional bag. I pointed out that just 5 min ago i had paid extra for this very purpose.i.e. to take the purchases in hand luggage, but the guy wouldnt budge. I had to create a bit of a scene before the floor manager intervened and let me pass. The flight was like cattle herded together, you would struggle to turn left or right.

I dropped a complaint to the airline about my experience, particularly at the Dubai terminal. They took a month to give a non committal reply.

One of the worst flight ever

One of the worst flight ever. My mom recently flew from IAD to Kathmandu. On her way back to Kathmandu from Dubai, which was operated by Flydubai, she said they did not provide her food despite of taking value or flex ticket type. Their website says the complementary food is provided for all value or flex ticket passengers. This is very disgusting. Also, I requested wheel chair for her. She said one person came and took her almost half an hour in a bus and leave her infront of security checking instead taking her to correct gate. Fortunately, she was able to figure out the correct gate with one of other person, otherwise she would have lost and miss the flight. I would never travel through this flight and do not recommend others to travel too.

Unfair Treatment and Poor Ground Staff Conduct – Missed Flight FZ001

I had a deeply disappointing experience with FlyDubai on June 11, 2025, when my companion and I were denied boarding for flight FZ001 (Dubai to Doha), despite being present near the gate well before the scheduled closure time.

There were no announcements, no name calls, and no phone calls, even though our contact details were correctly listed. Shockingly, I witnessed FlyDubai staff calling late passengers and holding gates open for later flights (Baghdad at 16:25, Mashhad at 16:50), yet no such effort was made for us.

When I approached the gate at 08:22 AM, the gate was already closed—despite FlyDubai’s own system showing it was closed at 08:32 AM. I was then forced to buy new tickets at my own expense.

The response from customer service was dismissive and failed to address these points, citing general policy without any real investigation. I also faced unhelpful staff, spoiled medication, and loss of wages due to the delay. A past issue with damaged baggage on a previous FlyDubai flight was also never fully resolved.

I expected more fairness, professionalism, and accountability from a national airline. I urge FlyDubai to review its inconsistent handling of passengers and improve its customer care response.

The wheelchair suggestion offered by the gate staff staff made all the difference in the journey.

I was sending my mother alone for a visit to our homeland and was worried about her. It was not easy for her to walk even for short distances. The fly Dubai staff at the gates were extremely helpful; especially the female and the male Kenyan staff in the morning of Saturday the 7th of June Hargeisa FZ 662. I did not thank them enough ( pls do it for me) for asking if we needed a wheel chair and for allowing us to register first, my mother was worried and with the wheel chair all the way until the seat at the airplane, it made a huge difference to her. May Allah bless the staff and the management for such a great service.

One feedback, the Indian female staffs at the registration and scanning were not welcoming at all, looked angry although they were just opening the counter and we were the first, a smile and a welcoming tone is all that is needed, after all travelling is hard for many people.

Website not working and they wanted…

Website not working and they wanted AED60 "service charge" for the privilege of booking over the phone. It's the only international airline that connects with Kish Island (that you can use an international payment card for) so I have no choice. Daylight robbery. Judging by the rest of the reviews this is consistent with the terrible customer service that is now standard. Only chance seems to be to complain to the UAE government department for consumer standards...

تم تأخير الرحلة لمدة ساعة و19 دقيقة دون وجود تواصل واضح أو تعويض أو توضيح من الشركة حتى الآن، مع العلم أنني تواصلت مع خدمة العملاء ولم أتلقَ رداً مناسباً. وقد أرسلت شكوى وتم الرد عليّ برسالة تلقائية برقم ملف 15649273، دون أي متابعة حتى الآن.

أرجو من سيادتكم التحقيق في الأمر واتخاذ ما يلزم لضمان حقوقي كمسافر.

FlyDubai Breaks Rules and Tries to Withhold Refunds – Repeatedly

I booked a fully refundable ticket from Istanbul to Dubai through FlyDubai, as my friend’s visa was still pending. I was in Turkey temporarily, but I live in the UK. Since the visa did not arrive in time, I canceled the ticket within the allowed period. FlyDubai issued a voucher instead of refunding to the original payment method—even though their terms never mentioned a time limit on the voucher, which turned out to be valid for only one year.

Later, after returning to the UK, I attempted to use the voucher—only to find out FlyDubai has no flights from the UK, my country of residence. According to IATA Resolution 830d and international aviation standards (including EU261/2004 principles), if a voucher is unusable from the passenger’s country of residence, the airline must refund the original payment. Terms and conditions cannot override these international consumer protections.

After multiple emails, FlyDubai finally agreed to process a refund—but then tried to deduct $200 from the full refundable ticket. No justification was given. This is unacceptable and a violation of basic passenger rights.

FlyDubai has shown a pattern of disregarding international rules, hiding key details in vague policies, and attempting to keep customers’ money through unfair practices. Whether it’s misleading vouchers or arbitrary deductions, this airline makes it difficult to get what you’re rightfully owed.

I will now report them to the following bodies:

UK Civil Aviation Authority, international Air Transport Association (IATA), European Consumer Centre UK , Dubai Consumer Rights – DET

Be cautious FlyDubai will not protect your rights unless you fight for them. I strongly advise avoiding this airline.

These are scammers

These are scammers. Be careful if you want to fly from Dubai to Baku (Azerbaijan) with this company, because they want that you show them e-visa for countries from EU. So if not you can't fly with them. Don't buy an urgent e-visa from the internet (.com) that are selling e-visa's between 60 $ and 150 $. If you are from EU country and want to fly from Dubai to Baku you don't need a visa. You will get a visa on Arrival stamp at the entrance. I have experienced it and bought an urgent e-visa 150 $ and got in Baku an visa on arrival stamp in my German passport and got scammed by these thieves, who are forcing you to have a visa before you check in to your flight.
