Just received my Large Fraimic
Just received my Large Fraimic. Product did not behave as decribed in the manual in terms of LED displaying fully charged battery, but it did work. The website that supports the frame is very rudimerntary and inconsistent from one section to another, and does not porvide simple options that should be there. I have NO interest in the AI images so cannot comment on that. The images when displyed are not as vivid as I expected from all the promo material. I did not expect nor want an LED/LCD look, but the colors are dull. I hope the website improves.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We wanted to clarify that the battery/LED behavior you experienced was addressed by the firmware update that installs during the initial out-of-box setup, so your Fraimic should now display the correct charging behavior described in the manual.
We also appreciate your feedback on the web portal. We’re continuing to improve and expand it, particularly as more customers begin using their Fraimics and sharing what they’d like to see added or streamlined.
Regarding the display, Fraimic uses E Ink Spectra 6, so the color reproduction is intentionally very different from a backlit LCD or LED display. It’s designed to have the softer, matte appearance of printed artwork rather than the saturation of a glowing screen. That said, we appreciate the feedback and are continuing to refine our image processing to get the best possible color and detail from the display.

Got a frame on Kickstarter
Got a frame on Kickstarter. 309$ for the frame + 120$ surprise Shipping fee + 100€ Fedex import Tax fee. None Really really bad experience.

We’re sorry to hear the shipping and import costs left you with a negative experience. We do want to clarify that shipping was not included in the Kickstarter pledge price. As stated during the campaign, shipping charges would be calculated and collected at the time of fulfillment based on the destination and actual shipping costs.
Unfortunately, international shipping for a product as large and heavy as Fraimic can be expensive, and those carrier charges are not something we control or profit from. Import duties and taxes are also assessed separately by the destination country and collected by FedEx/customs, not by Fraimic.
We completely understand that these additional costs can be frustrating, particularly for international backers, but they were not intended to be surprise charges or added to the campaign after the fact. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the product itself, and we genuinely appreciate your support as a Kickstarter backer.
$1,028 lost – no product, no refund, extreme shipping charges
I backed Fraimic through their Kickstarter campaign and pledged $1,028 for 1 Standard Fraimic and 1 Large Fraimic.
During the campaign, shipping was communicated in a completely different range. Later, after the money had already been collected, I was asked to pay an additional $528 USD in shipping costs. I refused to pay this excessive additional amount.
As a result, my pledge was converted into “Bonus Support”. That means I paid $1,028 through Fraimic’s Kickstarter campaign, received no products, received no refund, and was left with absolutely nothing.
In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable.
Fraimic hides behind Kickstarter terms and conditions, and unfortunately the problem did not stop with the extreme additional shipping costs. I am now also seeing backers reporting frozen devices, setup failures, registration problems, and support responses that appear to push the blame back onto the customer — as if the customer is simply too stupid to set up the product.
If a product freezes, cannot complete setup, cannot register, or depends on services that do not work properly, then blaming the customer is not acceptable.
This has been one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. From my perspective, I effectively lost $1,028 through Fraimic’s Kickstarter campaign and received nothing in return.
No product.
No refund.
No meaningful solution.
Only excuses, technicalities, and blame-shifting.
I strongly recommend that future customers and backers think very carefully before giving this company any money.
