I recently tried to buy a new car from Halliwell Jones Warrington and failed.

Having contacted them via Autotrader I did get an initial call from them to outline my requirements and was told I would get a call back.

I did get a call back but one that only lasted just two rings on my phone. I called back straight away and the call went to the voicemail of somebody called Anthony. I left a voicemail but I haven't heard anything since.

At a time when the industry is struggling I would expect more appetite from the dealer. Thankfully sites like Carwow give us so many options meaning I can easily try other dealers.

Looks like I won't be buying my Z4 from Halliwell Jones Warrington. Shame, it was good outfit when I bought my last one a few years ago.

Bought a used BMW 3 series from the Southport branch. Very friendly and professional service from all the staff. My sales rep Dyllan and the business manager Gary were both clear, thorough and great to deal with. It was absolutely the kind of experience you’d expect when buying a brand like BMW. Should be noted they seem to be doing a thorough job in trying to keep staff and customers protected at this time.

Visited the Southport branch to look at a car I’d seen online.

Customer service, despite Covid, was excellent from reception right through to the salesman.

I was met by Dyllan who took my through the deal and sales process. Kept it informal and it was a breeze. Finance guy (sorry forgot his name) was superb and the whole experience was quick and easy.

Picked the car up a day or two later and love it.

I will definitely return for my next car
