Great service in finding the best trip for us.

Jacky has been fantastic to partner with. Anyone who has tried to put a group together knows the changes and challenges. Jacky has been a wonderful partner to help me in booking travel for 14 people. She is always upbeat, quick to reply and her suggestions for modifying the itinerary has been most helpful.

Jonathan located the type of tour we were looking for very quickly. There are an overwhelming number of tours to the Galapagos. Jonathan helped sort this out.

I think I found Happy Gringo through a TripAdvisor review. Follow-up was timely, but not high pressure. We had a lot of time before our trip, so we started with a few ideas and Jonathan turned those ideas into a full-fledge trip including accommodations and recommendations for our free days. He continued to follow-up gently until we were ready to book.

Jonathan was extremely accommodating in finding a suitable trip for us on a pretty short notice. He responded to all our questions very quickly and put our minds at ease, with his knowledge about what to expect. Looking forward to the adventure coming up soon and hope it will be as positive as the booking process.

Honestly not impressed with the service at all. Several issues and none of them were dealt with in the way I would have expected. A huge amount of money was spent and the service received was less than stellar, especially in comparison to experiences for tours in other countries. Would not use Happy Gringo Travel again

Jacky was a pleasure to work with—she stayed on top of pricing and availability and answered all my questions, even when it required following up. I’m very happy with the service she provided.

That said, I do wish I had received an itemized receipt showing the exact room we booked on the Bonita, especially since our Galápagos trip is so far in advance. (I understand all the rooms were priced the same.)

My friend and I booked a trip with Happy Gringo and we can't wait for it! Jacky was very friendly and always available and she planned and adjusted a customized itinerary for us :) All the procedure was very detailed and professional, it was an overall positive-only experience!

We booked through Happy Gringo in 2023 for our holiday in Ecuador and the Galapagos and had superb service throughout so when we wanted to visit Peru, we immediately contacted Jacky. From that first contact, Jacky has gone the extra mile to ensure that all our requests are met and that the trip she has come up with meets all our expectations. We can't wait :-)

Jonathan was helpful from the first message. We had a lot of questions and he answered everything very professionally. Had a phone call with him which was great. Very nice to talk too.

We did 3 one-day tours in Quito. Family of 5 - mom, dad, kids 15-21.
David organized the tours and was our primary contact. He was great: very responsive, gave good suggestions, and called us (rather than relying on email) to answer our questions. We loved each tour and would highly recommend them.
*Mindo - Terrific day. The hummingbirds were a favorite for all of us, and the zipline was a 2nd favorite for the adventurous among us. We also really enjoyed the chocolate stop and the waterfalls hike. All hits!
*Cotopaxi bike - absolutely fantastic, start to finish. We paid extra to have an ebike for one in our group, which was 100% the right decision - it was still quite a workout. Can't say enough about how wonderful (and tiring) this tour was.
*Quito + Equator - we did this tour with our extended family, ranging in age from 9-71, and everyone enjoyed it. It was a great introduction to the area. A highlight was the Intinan Museum at the Equator. It was too bad we didn't have time for the Casa del Alabado in Quito, but there's only so much time in the day.

Our reservation was assisted by Jacky. She was very patient and exceptionally helpful. She was able to answer all of our questions and helped us navigate the trip from timing flights to our day to day schedule.

Kind, patient, explained every question (we had a lot). We felt comfortable embarking on this adventure!

From our initial call, David took the time to understand what we already had booked (flights and accommodations), our travel style, preferences, and even some personal background. Just a day or two later, he came back with a complete itinerary that reflected everything we had discussed—including activities starting the moment we stepped out of the airport!

On the days when no tours were planned, Happy Gringo still had us covered with well-thought-out suggestions for things we could do on our own. Each day of the trip came with clear, detailed instructions—what to bring, what to expect, and how the day would flow. That level of preparation really helped us relax and enjoy the experience.

One of the best parts? There was always a local liaison to guide us through the logistical moments—getting to the right line, the right boat, or the right driver—making everything smooth and stress-free. The chaos at the docks in the early mornings could have been overwhelming, especially for travelers without strong Spanish skills. It would have been so easy to get lost or end up with the wrong group, but with Happy Gringo's team supporting us, we never had to worry.

A lovely surprise before our trip: Happy Gringo sent us a few thoughtful gifts to use during our time in the Galápagos, in celebration of our anniversary. It was such a kind and personal touch that made the whole experience feel even more special.

During our two-week stay, I had a few questions about the itinerary, and David was always quick to respond with helpful answers. His support didn’t stop once the itinerary was sent and the bill was paid—he stayed involved the whole way through.
We did book one tour independently on a free day, and honestly? It didn’t measure up to the quality of the experiences Happy Gringo arranged. That really confirmed for us how valuable their network and planning expertise are.

We couldn’t recommend Happy Gringo—and David Bravo—more highly. This was thoughtful, personalized travel planning at its best!
