CHESHIRE OAKS: Great food as always. Front of house staff dreadful, rude and incompetent to offer hospitality.
System they were using to adhere to C19 was obviously not working. Too many people leaving to go to McDonalds instead. Outside tables not being cleared, nor cleaned.

From someone who loves our classic meal of fish and chips, whilst in Brighton I thought I would try..🙄
What a disgusting meal. Please use any of the many fish and chip stall, and not here.
Fish was sooooo dry, and obviously not fresh.

Very average food, chips were not hot, better off going to you're local fish and chip shop or even go to you're local lceland for better quality...

Tried the Iceland frozen battered Sausage and I feel ill. It smelt weird and tasted odd, I feel horrible, Absolutely avoid this brand.

Brought the frozen version of the battered sausages from Iceland and not happy.
Tasted vile and smelt awful, almost gagged, put me off rest of my meal.

I can honestly say that the fish was the worst I have ever had in 55 years tiny and dry. The chips were not much better

Best experience in Bournemouth. WONDERFUL staff who went the extra mile.
I am VERY frustrated I couldn't leave a tip on the app for their hard work.

Went to service station at Bishops Stortford. Bacon and sausage bap. Bap so dry I almost choked to death. Sausages so cheap they might just as well have been made if cardboard. Bacon so fatty the pig must have been in cardiac failure. What a waste of calories. Shouid have gone to Subway.

Treated myself today to a very expensive portion of chips £2.99 Harry Ramsdens Bournemouth. What a disppointment the chips were just a soggy mess all stuck together with no flavour at all. I assume as it was only just opened that they were warm ups from previous day.
It is not an experience I will.be repeating absolutely awful.

Stood at the restaurant door for 10 mins whilst staff just walked past and kept looking at us. Eventually got told to go in and scan the app and to follow her to the table. No welcome or a smile. Restaurant looked nice and all clean and fresh.
Sat down at the table and got 4 menus thrown at us. We were so excited to try the food in the restaurant and then we saw the prices.... now I understand you pay for the name but I cannot justify paying £60 for 4 fish and chips!!! No drinks, no peas, gravy etc, £60!!!!!!! Just absolutely disgusting. Needless to say we didn’t stay and got up and left.
If you want to pay £60 for fish and chips this is the place for you...

Swanage - All four meals served with old cold chips! Had to send back and wait for new properly cooked chips whilst the fish went cold. Staff not trained or invested in the product.

Friendly staff however that’s were the positives end. I ordered cod and chips, just shy of £10. The chips were edible but tasteless the fish was disgusting hence it went in the bin after two attempts. Never again!

Harry Ramsden’s Swanage. Waited almost 10 mins to be seated and were ignored/blanked by multiple staff. No ‘we’ll be with you in a minute’ or anything. Walked out. Staff clearly didn’t care.

Very small portion sizes for the price I paid, staff constantly breathing and leaning over me trying to collect glasses and plates to clean the table without a face mask getting to close for comfort in this pandemic!! Very disappointed! Bournemouth

As a loyal customer I can say that customer service was awful with untrained staff in Harry Ramsden's in Bournemouth in our last visit 11/08/20. We will never visit this restaurant again. Let tell you why?You should teach your staff how to be polite and avoid rudeness when they informing customers about new rules (ex. social distancing). Your front man's behavior,who was working on that day between 1-1.30 PM was unacceptable and the way how he treat us was very rude.

Visited Harry Ramsdens blackpool on 8/8/20. Staff were not wearing masks or visors . I witnessed staff delivering food to tables not wearing anything to protect customers. They were stopping to talk to other staff whilst holding plates of food, they were not wearing masks and this is not a good sign. The droplets from their mouths whilst talking was falling onto the food in their hands below. When they reached my table she put the food down on table right below her mouth and chatted to us for a couple of minutes.Not good at all. Who is overseeing the potential risks these places are in danger of spreading, ie vivid 19.

waited outside for over 35 minutes finally got a table then waited for 15 minutes to order then waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for the food which they had forgot about adults meals reheated which we could see while the kids meals were only just cooked because they forgot wasn’t even that nice also had to wait about 20 minutes for the drinks

Went to Cheshire Oaks, main aim was to go to Harty Ramsdens. Got there when it opened. Take out only. Only serving 2 people at a time. Very slow service took 20 mins to get served only 2 people in front of us. Chips not upto standard.In fact were disgusting, the fish was awful No ketchup or tartar sauce offered Had to pay 30p for each. Paid over £30 for 2 meals. Ended up throwing them. Made me feel sick. What a bad experience. Went back in to complain. Not interested.

I had the misfortune to visit your restaurant in Queensferry yesterday at approximately 1.30pm with my wife and a friend visiting from London. I have to say that the whole experience was an embarrassment. The restaurant was totally empty at the time and devoid of any atmosphere which was not helped by the staff who seemed indifferent at best.
My wife ordered Harry Ramsden's famous fish and chips choosing cod instead of the more popular haddock served in Scotland. I ordered the pie of the day, which, I was informed, was chicken. Only to be be told later that this was not available and that cheese and vegetable pie was the alternative, I chose the sausage and chips. Our friend ordered Caesar Salad with small goujons of fish and chicken pieces probably cut from a chicken burger. This was completely dry on top of a very small portion of limp lifeless greens which was supposed to be Caesar salad. My wife's deep fried cod looked less than appetising as the batter was totally overcooked and burnt. She chose the Cod as there is usually a larger meatier piece of fish. She had to scrape what was left of the fish from the batter and got thin flakey strips. She said at the time it was the worst ever fish and chips she had ever had comparing it to our local Tavern which serves fish and chips with a wow factor. You would think that nothing could go too wrong with sausage and chips. However, the chips were the worst cheapest variety of chips that I have encountered. Certainly not hand cut, being uneven and mixed with end cuts. Having a catering background I know the quality available from commercial suppliers. Your chips would make Mr McCain blush.
I have read the mixed reviews you have received. Unsuspecting tourists may accept these standards to be the norm for catering in Scotland but for the discerning locals this is not acceptable and will do nothing to enhance your reputation. Interesting to see quotes from Escoffier on the wall, has anyone there read Larousse Gastronomique of his other titles, I doubt it.
