Initially I had a problem as I missed a call from hire a hubby. The installer rephoned me and a timeframe was made to install my garden shed. He was prompt and very professional with his work, ensuring all was correct before he left. Would recommend any time. Thankyou.

I'd give it a no star of I could. Bob, from Great Chart branch, provided an appalling service. They damaged stuff; didn't finish any jobs properly; they left a real mess behind. I'm having to spend thousands to put the work right. They don't know what they are doing, stay away!

Sent an email to Gordon for a quote a couple of times, emailed me back, said he was very busy, and would get back to me, still waiting after a week, also a friend of mine, had the same! No response! Very poor
Have gone to a more reliable company

Very very expensive for largely unskilled labour. Always late. My experience up to 3 hours. Plus they charge the customer for their mistakes. Don't have an alternative suggestion for good handyman services

I received an email from Hire a Hubby Crowthorne. I replied and a bloke turned up with whom all the jobs that I had in the house. He said that he would discuss with Warren and come back with some quotes. He never got back. Now I am not sure if it's a scam or a potential thief surveying my property. Would have appreciated some kind of communication. Kollol

Can not recommend highly enough. Had a lot of work that needed doing. Floors ripped up, all painting in living room and halls and stairs, new handles, smoke alarms etc and other bits here and there.

Leigh was fantastic. Listened to everything we had to say and had requested and sent a fully comprehensive quote which was amazingly detailed.

Spike and Mike were the lads who carried out all the work and they were fantastic lads, proper grafters. Showed them where the fridge and kettle was and left them to crack on with it.

Trusted the boys very much, th had a key to the house and could come and go as they needed to so we didn’t need to stay in the house all the time.

Leigh was very very professional as were Mike & Spike. Communication was fantastic. There were a few problems with the walls and the lads sorted it all out no problem.

Would definitely use again without hesitation and cannot thank Leigh enough. My living room is gorgeous, hall stairs and landing is beautiful and the quality of work is stunning!

I wanted to turn a bedroom into a dressing room, a friend recommend Tony. I called him we book a slot he arrived on time we went through my options, I decided on Ikea and and wanted Tony to make all the floor to ceiling units and fit them. All units were attached to the walls, he was really great when fitting shelfs drawers etc, while I decided where I wanted everything to go, even though I did change my mind a couple of times. He did a great job, very professional, really tidy, would definitely recommend him.

We contacted Roy by text about hanging 5 pictures, and 2 clocks-which although a very simple job, I am registered disabled-and seriously ill. I texted him that I wanted picture hooks, but one picture (Last Supper), was very heavy-but told him this (have all the texts on my phone-as proof). His attitude stunk, very abrupt, no smiles-as if he didn't even want to do it. It wasn't very nice either seeing his backside permanently on display. He hammered nails into the walls to hang my pictures. The nails are loose. He also didn't hang them correctly-i.e too high (for Last Supper)-I cannot reach the top to clean it (even with my shoes on). I did tell him prior that I needed to reach the top of the frame to clean it.

I don't know what screws he used for Last Supper-but he said it wasn't fitting, and then took it out, leaving damage to my wall. For this-he didn't apologise. He put a different screw in, and then added a 3rd screw. I have never had 3 screws before-had a professional job done years ago, with 2 very strong screws.

One very precious, and lightweight picture- fell off the wall, and he didn't hang it properly, as you could see the nail above the picture-but he wasn;t interested, and thought I was being fussy. He even told me to get some Polyfilla to cover it up-and put another nail in. This picture was painted by my son when he was in Year Reception-which looks absolutely fantastic. After hearing a smash, I cried my eyes out, when I saw it was my son's picture-he's now 26 years old, and it looks as good as the day he painted it. My son is autistic, and is in hospital-and has been, for a very long time.

I have just moved into a brand new build property, and he was fully aware the walls are hollow (text messages are all on my phone). Having been here 2 weeks, I did not expect such damage to my walls, and nails hammered in, which are loose. He charged me £36 for this-he was in a mad rush, and gone in no time at all. I cried my eyes out afterwards-total cowboy job. If I wanted to bang nails into my walls, I would have got my carer to go to Poundland, and get some nails, for a matter of pence, and put them up for me. But nails were the last thing I wanted-in such a beautiful, new build property.

I don't know what the foreman of CG Frys will say about the damage to the walls (that he told me to get Polyfilla for). I am feeling such despair as a result. Then he had the audacity to abruptly say "where's yer toilet?" no manners, or danger of saying please at all. He did say he was going to send the receipt to my email address-he hasn't as yet. When I texted him after the incident- with my precious painting my son painted for me aged 4-and all the other iissues-he didn't even text me back. I didn't want to give him 1 star (in fact he didn't desrve any).

For anyone looking to get simple jobs like this done-then please think again, and I urge you DON'T go hiring Roy-unless you want a botch job. I had to take extra medication, when he left, as I was so distressed by these goings on. I am definitely taking this matter further, by going to CAB. He will be held accountable for this terrible mess -which he alone caused. I think he thought he could get away with this, because of how seriously ill and fragile I am, and that I wouldn't put in a complaint -but, this is far from the case. He may choose to ignore me-but action will be taken- forthwith.

Have spent almost two years trying to track down the cowboy who did work on my house to try and get a refund for botched work which has so far cost over £1500 to begin to rectify.The company do not want to know when things go wrong.Use a local tradesman and see their work instead of using hire a hubby. Would never ever use these people again.

Hamish was totally professional and courteous throughout the whole project,amending previous contractors error!
His hardworking ethical conduct was demonstrated as he continued to work past hours in order to honour his quote...all with an injury... super job and would definitely recommend him!

Works carried out by franchisee were substandard, staircase was wrong and had to be replaced, incorrect fittings used, damage to our carpet and ceiling, we were forced to halt any more work taking place and get independent reports. These agreed that the work was substandard and that the whole lot needed to be taken out and replaced. Hire a Hubby head office refused to acknowledge any problems, terminated phone calls and the franchisee tried to take me to court. I refused to supply the ‘outstanding balance’ being requested and instead came to a settlement. I’m pregnant and could have done without all this.

Please avoid this company. They don’t know what they’re doing, the customer service is abysmal and they lie to protect themselves. Keep all communications in emails so you have evidence.

Warren is extremely reliable, efficient and price-wise, very competitive. The work he has done for me is of an excellent standard and I would have no reservations in recommending him very highly. You will not be disappointed.

I was looking for someone to fix my garden fence as it had blown over due to the strong winds. I had 3 quotes and by far Leigh’s quote was the most competitive so we hired him straightaway. He came to give a quote on the Thursday evening and he was fixing the fence by Wednesday.

He arrived earlier than stated so that was a plus and he was done after a couple of hours. Leigh did a brilliant job with the fence, it’s like brand new. The fence will hold up for the next 10 years!

I would highly recommend Leigh to anyone, very professional and courteous.

I personally would not recommend them, think you can find better

We have just moved to Kent and have a lot of "handyman" type jobs to be done in the apartment now plus other projects moving forward. Paul gave a competitive quote, was punctual and professional and I have no problem in recommending Paul with a five star rating. We will definitely ask him for quotes for further jobs and hope to use his services again in the future.

Paul was fantastic from start to finish and in every sense of the word.. He arrived on time, worked above and beyond, great work ethic and produced/built a fantastic product; the goods I brought from the dreadful Dunster House were shocking but Paul calmly put me at ease and spent well over the timed and price quoted. Im very happy with the project and his word is his bond. If anyone in the local area wishes to see my completed Gazebo, please do get in touch via Paul.

I would like to share my review on Paul from Hire A Hubby-Newington. The both times his come to do the jobs I required iIve been extremely pleased . His work is very good and his very tidy , nothing is to much trouble. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family and keep him for further jobs in the future. He comes across as chatty and friendly . And is very punctual

After moving into a new home and both of us being totally useless at DIY - we thankfully found Paul (HireAHubby Newington). Paul has now done lots of tasks in our home, from installing all the light fittings (including my ‘intricate’ ones), hung mirrors, blinds, cabinets, tv brackets and all our curtain poles and tie backs. He also ran power to our shed, installed a socket in our bedroom and partially boarded out the garage eaves for storage. We can’t rate Paul high enough, he’s a very nice guy who works very professionally and cleanly plus his rates are good. We will ring Paul for any similar jobs in the future for sure.

Used Hire a Hubby to replace an external door.
Keith Holdsworth came to do the job. What a guy, pleasant, helpful, efficient and good at his job. it was a pleasure to have him around. Done the job very well and cleared up afterwards. Good standard of workmanship.
Keep up the good work. Highly recommended. Will use him again.
