I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother providing a photo of my mum and late father. The yarn colours are clearly too dark, having gone back and forth with the company they did not understand my complaint. I only used them as my mother had had another as a gift and although it was a little stretched on the canvas the overall end product was ok. Before this second one arrived, my niece also purchased one and again the yarns are way too dark. They have copied the image correctly on the packaging but when transferring to the thumbnail on the canvas something has happened to the colour! I don't think this company is UK based as responses are slow and there seems to be a language barrier trying to explain the issue. So very disappointed as it would have been a nice memory of my late father and mum's time together.

Item did not work, very cheap and shoddy, wouldn't leave plugged in when not around. No instructions. Item was small curling tong. Rubbish, wouldn't refund. So used PayPal

As others have mentioned, their website implies that they are UK based, but based on the communications I’ve had with them and the parcel tracking information, they are based in China.

Ordered 3 punch embroidery kits as Christmas presents at start of November. As I had not received them after around 25 days I emailed them. Heard nothing for around 3 weeks, eventually they responded saying there had been a shipping delay which they would sort out. I soon got tracking details that showed they had only actually posted it after they sent me the email. By this time it was too late for me to get them for xmas.

The kits were incomplete. Neither of them had the hoop/frame or scissors as detailed. Only two had the poke embroidery needle. What I did receive was very poor quality and therefor I did not give them as gifts. I’ve contacted them a few times to either send me the missing bits or arrange return for their promised full refund. Heard nothing and now cannot be bothered to pursue this.

Sent the wrong design and took ages to arrive.

The cross stitch i ordered arrived a little later than schedule and i must admit it looked a little on the cheap and nasty side but having read the instructions i am completing it okay. I have run out of one of the colours which was supplied so i have managed to use my own stock but on another colour i cannot so i will have to buy more of it which is not good. The threads supplied appear to be barely enough to do the work and in my case insufficient on at least two colours (so far) I may try another pattern to see if this is just a one-off or an inherent fault.

I've had further dealings with Hobby Art since my last review. I have received a refund after several emails back and forth with the "customer service team", whereby I was told that I would receive a portion of a refund and the rest after I had changed/altered my review. I refused and said I would only amend my review once I'd received a full refund, which I now have.
The truth is I will never purchase anything from this website again, the products I purchased were not like their images online, I've had a load of hassle to get a refund.

Company sends direct from China and not UK based. Item arrived over a week late. Everything plastic and instructions written in Chinese. Poor quality. Not worth the money or the wait. This ‘UK’ based company needs looking into by trading standards!

They send from China. They are not a UK company. Still awaiting something I ordered close to 2 weeks ago with nothing on the site stating that it would take so long or was shipping international. Scam site. Do not use.

This is a company posing as a UK company. They will even lie to you when you email them. They will reply in broken English that has blatantly been through a translation app. They are in China, not the UK. They are selling by misrepresenting themselves as being in the UK. Avoid at all costs. Waste of time.

Very pleased with my cross stitch kit. Uploaded a photo and received full kit, plenty of threads and easy to follow pattern printed on the canvas.

The crosstich of the photo I sent is brilliant and value for money And the customer service is very good too

The company kept me informed by email and delivered on time. The cross stitch is just as advertised and I am very happy with results so much so that I have just ordered two more kits and will be using this company regularly

The pattern they sent is atrocious. The colours are completely wrong and the sizing of the picture is awful. I have requested on a number of occasions for a return and refund and they keep coming back to me saying that I shouldn’t look at the colour printed on the cloth, I’m not. I’m literally looking at the thread. I have asked four times now and I will never again use this company. Horrendous.

Update: they said they would refund me. It’s now TWO MONTHS later and I still haven’t received the refund. I have logged a complaint with Trading Standards and would strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Update two: I received a clearly ‘copy/paste’ email from Hobbyart (addressed to someone else’s name) and finally received a refund but only after getting a legal letter from me explaining consumer law. I then received three emails asking for me to take this review down. Not going to happen; they behaved unlawfully and looking at other reviews, I’m not the first nor will I be the last.

The product was easy to view and the cross stitch count fitted my ability. The colours on the order well represented what came to me which is important when wanting a good finished product. The quality of this product was very good.

The product came in a timely manner. It was my first time doing cross stitch and I’ve had no problems. Only thing I would suggest is even just a little paper of instructions to get started (how to figure out which colours are what numbers). Something small but making the process easier for beginners.

I ordered a custom made crossstitch tapestry of my dog. It was very easy to order and delivery was speedy. They provided me with everything I needed - clear pattern, threads, thimble, needles etc. I am very happy about my order and definitely will order again.

Nice kit finally arrived, around 10 days after ordering, but instructions all in ?Chinese. This was not insurmountable as we had watched a YouTube video, but a translation would have been helpful!

Seen as we get a lot of calls/emails about this company.
