Hi Mette,

First and foremost, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. It is never our intention to leave a member feeling unheard or unsupported. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter unexpected charges and feel your concerns are not being addressed promptly.

Secondly, I had a quick look at our logs and can see that the renewal notification email was sent to you on Nov 14, 2024. Since you didn’t request otherwise, the system automatically billed your stored payment method in order to keep your membership from expiring and thereby blocking your access to the account. To make sure you are always in full control, both during the sign-up process and on your Billing Info page, we mention that you are free to cancel your membership at any time if you don’t want it to be renewed automatically.

As for the refund request, the best way to reach our team and see what can be done is to reply to one of the notification emails you're received or simply email us at hello@interaction-design.org . We’re definitely not interested in disappointing anyone and always try to do our best to find the right solution 😊

Please check your email. I'm trying to contact you so we can get this sorted!

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and for appreciating our team's assistance—it means a lot to us! I’m truly sorry about any confusion regarding the annual billing structure. Our goal is always to provide clarity, and I’m glad we could support you effectively.

While we primarily offer annual memberships to keep the cost of our courses accessible, we do have a monthly option called the Design League. It includes 2 hours of personal coaching each month and is designed for those looking for a more intensive learning experience.

We’d love to have you back if the time is ever right for you, and we’ll certainly consider all feedback as we continue improving! In the meantime, don’t forget about our free resources, like our open-source UX design literature, which you can explore anytime.
