Root is the absolute worst insurance company I have ever dealt with in all my years of driving
They denied my claim for a horrible car accident even though my policy documents show my policy was in effect from 4/16 at 12:01am until 10/16 at 12:01am
They still denied my claim and wont allow me to speak to anyone in corporate office or anyone who is in charge as if they are hiding something big
Root insurance is the shadiest and most disgraceful insurance company out there and I highly recommend staying far away from being insured by them bc I got 7 people so far to come forward to state they did the exact same thing to them and I am sure if I continue to dig, that number will multiply by more than double or triple
Their representatives, adjusters, supervisors and everyone that works there are rude and sound like they are hiding something
I have never dealt with an insurance company that would not allow me to speak to someone higher up in corporate headquarters
I will not stop til thet take care of what they have according to their documents showing I waa in fact covered for this accident
My policy started at 12:01 AM and Root denied my claim for a car accident they won’t let me talk to anyone in Corporate office I have written letters I have spoken to people in their office all incompetent young people no one in a high position and no one that can help me this is ridiculous this place is a scam and a farce and a pyramid scheme and I’m telling you to avoid them if you can I don’t recommend doing business with Root insurance I’m stuck with them for another month until I rectify this and then can leave their insurance company I’ve already been told by Toyota that I have another insurance company I can go to but I need to stick it out to fight them

This insurance company is the absolute worst! I had been on a policy with my x husband for several years. Root dropped me off his policy with no reason, and then blocked me from being able to retain new insurance in Florida with any other company! I had to go thru hell to find new insurance and I almost lost my job as a delivery driver due to that! My x husband called, tried adding me back to the policy, was told no can't add me, still no reason given. I do not have a bad driving record. And I was with them for a long time. I think that's terrible customer service. I think that's terrible behavior and that is not business like. Is this how they treat their customers who have been with them for several years? I will be letting everybody I can know about root insurance. The worst company and their customer service is awful as well. I finally found new car insurance, and I am talking to a lawyer about what happened with Root, seeing as tho I was dropped without notice, and my DL was suspended bc of it. I had to pay 150$ to reinstate it, and I'm going after Root for the 150$ I had to put out to fix this, I almost lost my job, and Root is going to reimburse me for my troubles. They will be hearing from my attorney.

I was rear ended two weeks ago. I was asked to provide vin#'s for both my truck & trailer that was hit, which I did. Then I was asked to provide a quote to fix the trailer which I did. Then I was asked to blow up the quote as apparently, they had issues with it, so I did.
All they needed to do is obtain a statement from the driver & the policy holder which has still not happened. Do NOT purchase insurance from this company!

Charging me$150 for a one day late fee lol! Crazy work

It was easy to get insurance through root insurance and the rate was perfect for me! My experience getting the insurance was good, no problems. So I only gave it a four because I haven't had to use it which I hope I don't.

The price and the quickness and the service online was superb! I recommend ROOT to all my family and friends.

Root Insurance markets themselves as “driving‑based,” but that wasn’t my experience. I scored a 9/10 on their test drive, have a 764 credit score, and zero missed payments, yet they canceled my coverage because I recently bought a house and my newest account was “too new.” That’s credit‑based underwriting, no matter how they spin it. If you’re expecting rates based on driving alone, be careful. Their actions don’t match their advertising.

They don't give you all the information how it works up front... only after you make your payment do you find out that you have to have your location services ALWAYS on for them or they will give you a worse score and increase your rate without any type of explanation. They also do not let you declare when you are driving or not. They tell you that you only need to have location on for the "Test Drive" or first month of use, which is a lie as the app yells at me every time I open it that I need my location turned on. My driving score of 8/10 (that I can almost prove went down from 10/10 to 8/10 after a bad Uber driver who couldn't brake properly - I took screenshots before and after) resulted in a 25% premium increase... Crazy that they can advertise to you one thing and not really offer it - I wouldn't go near this company again and am in process of getting another policy so I can cancel this trash company

Theifs I didn't get car because didn't send card in time and won't give back money matter of fact they just tried to bill me again n won't refund me for car I never even sat in asked to fix Jada the rep said unfortunately we can't a supervisor will reach out never did scam response to response more then a month and dealer called multiple times as did I so like said before scam thiefs if I stole from call it's a crime call steal it's business that's crazy and still try to take money out is crazy!!!!!!!!!!

Avoid at all costs. First of all, it's way overpriced, but that's understandable given it's month-by-month insurance. It turns out they’re liars as well.

I just found out my insurance is going up because my perfect driver discount is gone, thanks to the dishonest appraiser at Root. I literally just scratched my headlight and bumper getting out of my garage.

I was advised to go through insurance because the parts for the car were very expensive, so I did. There was not a single mention that this would go on my record, nothing. I just found out through my insurance rep that Root reported it as an accident with me at fault. Ridiculous. Not a single record on my DL for 28years, until I joined ROOT.

Just getting started with the insurance. I know it saved me half of what I was paying.

The process of obtaining my insurance was very easy also the price that I had quoted was great it was a enjoyable transaction

If I could give a zero star review, I would!!! Do not go through this company. They are very slow at getting anything done for a claim. I had hit a deer on the side of my bumper driving home one night and it literally took them 4 freaking months to get the claim process going. Then at my re-newel month they want to charge me $300 dollars more than what I was paying, due to not being a good driver and because I was at fault for hitting the deer. This isn't the only issue I have had with them, they are terrible at filing proper paperwork. If you are a minute late on your auto payment they cancel you, with no, and's, if's or buts. They give you literally no grace period. Such a waste of time and effort. They are a rip off.

Worst insurance out there I paid for a whole month of insurance to get 14 dollars back and I will not be recommending root to anyone
