Our initial rent was with Alan Francis, who were taken over by Leaders in mid/late 2024. In October 2024, we moved out of the property. We applied for our deposit to be returned, but heard no response.

In December 2024, we chased them. Three phone calls, all of which said the person of interest would ring back (she didn't). I turned up in person to their offices, and was given reassurances that the deposit would be returned. After chasing for a further two months over emails and phone calls, we are still yet to receive the deposit. We have had to work through TDS to receive payment - this is still ongoing.

I would not use Leaders again based on our treatment

I am a landlord who has a fully managed property with Leaders. I have to say Shannon has been a breath of fresh air. When Leaders acquired Alan Francis I was ready to move Estate Agents as the impersonal service was unbelievable, it was clear I was just another figure and I didn’t want my tenants to get the same service. However, I called the office to advise I was leaving and moving the property and Shannon turned my opinion around. She took hold, owned and sorted all the issues. Moving on several months now and I’m staying with Leaders due to the personable service Shannon has shown.

I must say - the property management team in Milton Keynes are hardworking and dedicated. A special shout out to Shannon who took over managing our property when it was a mess and sorted all our issues out one by one.

We had some issues with leaders in the beginning but then everything was perfect after Shannon was assigned as our property manager. She took all the issues into consideration and was spot on in terms of actioning the same without any sort of delays. She was very helpful and our experience has been amazing since then.

I had the pleasure of working with Paige Thompson who’s been incredibly supportive and helpful at all times.
2024 presented us with a very difficult experience with our previous tenants who misbehave in a rather inappropriate manner. Paige’s grace and professionalism were second to none, which made it possible for us to deal with the situation. The last two or three months of last year were indeed very trying if not uncomfortable but thanks to Paige, everything was resolved to the best of her abilities and for our peace of mind.
All my praise and gratitude go to Paige for all the hard work she has put into place to make us feel better to continue with Leaders.

Our Property manager at Leaders, Paige Thompson, has done as is doing a fantastic job looking after all our properties for us. We recently had a couple of really bad tenants, but Paige has done a great job in helping resolve all the issues. She is very polite, friendly and very reliable.

Worst property agency for the tenants. I've been asking them to fix the mould on the ceiling for months and they are just ignoring my request.

I was a landlord with a property managed by Alan Francis. In recent months this was taken over by Leaders. I have moved away from Leaders as the service was atrocious. They had no interest in engaging with the people who pay their wages.

No responses to emails discussing electrical faults. Staff were ‘always in a meeting’…… and ’promise to ring you back’ which never materialised. Emails would remain unanswered for months.

The first issue was my tenants started being harassed by Leaders debt collecting team regarding overdue rent. My tenants and I explained that there was no missing rent and the problem must be with Leaders IT system. After the first few phone calls from myself and the tenants, Leaders starting avoiding our calls and not responding to emails. This went on for 3 months with weekly messages and phone calls. The messages to my tenants became more menacing and they started to worry about bailiffs turning up.

The second issue related to Leaders not returning my tenants deposit for months. My tenants looked after the property and I agreed that no damage had occurred and the deposit could be returned in full. Again, radio silence. We spoke to the TDS and shared the certificate number. Apparently the deposit had already been removed by the agents a few years earlier – We were never informed of any changes. Two month after leaving, the tenants finally got their deposit paid in full.

The final issue. While collecting the keys to the property, I was informed that there was a charge for cancelling the management contract. I checked my contract. Nothing written down. They were trying to fleece me for money. What a nice last impression to leave with someone. Kind of makes you want to write a Trust Pilot review.

While the Milton Keynes branch of Leaders has very poor customer service, I was exceedingly impressed with the Leaders customer complaints team who resolved all of my complaints within a few weeks. If only the Milton Keynes branch received the same training…..

Truly awful agency they don't fix any problems within rental property,any information you require or need is not a priority to them at all. Absolutely disgusted they should be burnt down to the ground stay away they are dodgy and money making idiots

Very poor service. Nearly every task requires constant follow-up, often multiple times a day. Here are some examples:

Tenant Payments: When the tenant missed a rent payment, they didn’t make a single call. Instead, they relied on an automated system that just sends text messages, which is completely ineffective. I had to step in, contact the tenant directly, and negotiate a payment plan myself.

Service Notice: It took two weeks of me calling daily before they managed to send out a simple service notice—a complete waste of time and money.

Deposit Negotiations: They rely on a useless automated system that only sends emails, leaving me to handle most of the negotiation process myself.

Inspections: Their inspections are inadequate, if they’re conducted at all. Despite significant damage to the property, nothing was flagged in their annual report. I doubt they ever actually visited the property.

In summary, it feels more like a call centre with high employee turnover and a lack of accountability. Every time I call, I’m asked who I want to speak with, only to be told that person is “on the phone.” Even when I offer to hold, they come up with another excuse. Very dishonest.

Lastly, they continue to increase their management fees and add new charges like "Compliance Fees" and "HMRC Fees," yet I still end up doing most of the work myself.

If you are a landlord, avoid Leaders at all costs. You will never be able to cancel your contract with them. It will literally cost you thousands. They are exceptionally incompetent and their staff turnover is ridiculously high due their disgusting business practices. They will screw landlords and tenants over through blackmail, delay tactics and greed.
I spent 7 years with Leaders. Easily the most unethical business I have come across in my whole life.

I had tenants leave during the change from Alan Francis to Leaders. After 3 x Section 21s -no none spotted the errors each time one was submitted, so I had to use a solicitor. The flat used to be my home. I never had a problem with mold, until this tenant. The tenants broke and bent a door, didn't ventilate, damaged walls, blinds, curtains and worktops, a window, left weights on the balcony and furniture in the bedrooms and didn't clean very well upon leaving.

3 months on and I don't have a signed and completed check out report or any idea what was submitted to the deposit company. People have left so I don't have meter readings, sets of keys have been lost.

I've asked three times for notification of their complaints procedure and still haven't got anywhere. I didn't even want to do this as I know its not the lettings manager's fault, but a lack of management of processes at the take over and then resouce to get the job done. But its me, the landlord, who is the one who stands to make a loss, not Leaders or the tenant.

my experience with this agency was a very bad one, it was one of the worst agents! I do not recommend!

Annalise was so responsive and reliable throughout the incidence. She looked after the problem with my property from end-to-end and made sure the problem was sorted out in the shortest possible time. Really appreciate her effort. Highly recommend the maintenance service provided by Leaders.
