Good explanation and workmanship
Everything explained carefully across two visits. First to survey and agree the remedies needed, and make an appointment for a specialist engineer to come the next day to clear out an old collapsed clay drain, re-sleeve with modern kit and make good.
Steven was polite friendly and explained what was happening, all completed in good time.

BE VERY CAREFUL before employing this company! My 98 years old mother-in-law phoned us one evening to say that she had a blocked drain outside her kitchen and had asked this firm to come and unblock it. Somebody turned up and 'investigated' the problem and gave her an written estimate of £3700 to "excavate the blocked gully and line the pipes" saying that the gully was "defective and damaged" and needed replacing. He asked her if someone had power of attorney and she said yes - her daughter (my wife). He then took £1750 from her card as "50%" advance payment for the work. Outrageous! We went to her house early next day before the contractor turned up to do the work. The blocked gulley had not been cleared and the grid was was under a foot of grey sludge so the first guy could not have even seen it, let alone diagnosed that it was broken. When a subcontractor turned up he was surprised that the gullley was still blocked and jetted it out with his machine. This revealed that it was not defective at all. His camera revealed a few displacements in the clay drain leading away from the gulley but no blockages. I had to leave and after some pressure from the subcontractor my wife and her mum agreed that the drain would benefit from a liner, which was then installed. After several calls to 'head office' in Poole the price was reduced to £1900 plus VAT, and she paid a further sum, making a total bill of £2280 to unblock a gully and line a pipe. Some people in this company are operating unethically - they should never have taken any money up front from a 98 years old woman on her own who they knew was under power of attorney, and they should have been honest about the condition of the gulley, which they had NOT SEEN.
I will be taking this case to Trading Standards and Watchdog, as others may fall victim to these people.

Dear Brian,
We take all feedback seriously and would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding this job.
Firstly, no repair work was carried out until we had spoken directly with the customer’s daughter, who we were informed was the Power of Attorney. We were not aware that a Power of Attorney existed at the time of the initial attendance, and this was only brought to our attention on the day the repairs were being discussed and carried out. Once this was known, communication was made with the daughter before any works proceeded.
During the initial investigation, our engineer identified that the gully was a clay gully and recommended excavation and replacement with a modern PVC gully, along with repairs to the pipework. However, after the price was queried, the cost for excavating and replacing the gully was completely removed from the quotation.
Following further inspection using CCTV equipment, displacements were identified within the clay drainage line leading away from the gully. Based on these findings, drain relining was recommended as a long-term solution to restore smooth flow and seal the displaced joints.
The decision to proceed with the drain relining was made with the agreement and instruction of the daughter, who we were informed was the Power of Attorney, and the works were then carried out accordingly. The final works completed were therefore significantly reduced in scope compared with the original recommendation, as the excavation and gully replacement were removed.
We also wish to clarify that our company has a vulnerable customer policy, and our engineers are trained to follow strict procedures. At the time of the visit, there was nothing presented to our staff that indicated the customer was vulnerable, nor were we informed of any Power of Attorney until later in the process.
The works completed included high-pressure drain clearance, CCTV inspection, and installation of a structural drain liner to seal displacements and improve flow, and these works are supported by a 10-year guarantee and full job completion documentation.
We categorically reject any suggestion that our company acted dishonestly or unethically. All works were discussed, agreed, and carried out with the approval of the Power of Attorney, and the scope of work was reduced in response to concerns over cost.

When lining our pipes, they blocked a sewerage waste pipe, leading to a back up and then explosion of raw sewerage in my garden. They took days to repair this and broke anther drain when repairing it.
I waited in on 4 days when they said they'd repair the broken drain and they did not arrive. I had to chase them over weeks to come back and repair the damage they caused.
And I was charged more than the original quote!

As soon as this was brought to our attention by the customer, our engineers returned and rectified the problem, ensuring the drainage system was restored to full working order.
All work carried out by our company is supported by a 10-year guarantee, meaning that if any issues arise relating to the installation, we return and resolve them as part of our commitment to customer service and long-term reliability.
Drainage systems can be complex, particularly when working with older pipework and multiple connections, and additional work can sometimes be required once repairs are underway. Any further work completed was carried out to ensure the drainage system was fully functional and protected long-term.
We always aim to attend as quickly as possible when customers request follow-up visits and apologise if there were any delays in scheduling while coordinating our engineers.
If the customer would like to discuss anything further, we encourage them to contact our office directly so we can ensure everything remains covered under the 10-year guarantee and operating correctly.

Before any work was carried out the communication was absolutely excellent (and quite possibly the best I’ve experienced from any business, local or national). The high quality of approach was maintained with the arrival of Joel, whose friendly professionalism helped ensure confidence and trust. The task in hand was carefully explained and options made clear. The work - blocked drains - was completed to immediately satisfaction, leaving me pleased and impressed.

LSD Quoted me £1350 +vat to put new gully in 😂😂
Called dyno-Rod this morning, arrived in 2 hours really professional approach, engineer took 20 mins to get job done with good old rod/plunger.

On this occasion our engineers attended to investigate a blocked kitchen waste line and carried out diagnostic work on site. As explained at the time, our attendance and investigation fee covers the engineer call-out, time on site, and specialist equipment used to assess the drainage system, regardless of whether the blockage can be cleared during the initial visit.
Following inspection, our engineers provided a quotation for further remedial works based on what was visible at the time. Quotes are provided as recommendations only and customers are always free to obtain additional opinions before proceeding.
Drainage issues can sometimes appear resolved temporarily using manual methods such as rods or plungers, however our role is to identify underlying issues and provide long-term solutions where faults are suspected.
We always aim to be transparent with our pricing and procedures before work is carried out, and no further works were undertaken without customer approval.

Blocked drain
The technician arrived promptly and did his best to understand the problem of a blocked drain with rods and a jet.
The reason for 3 stars is that the technician didn’t use a camera which would have been helpful to understand what the issues were.
So, after the 1.5 hours there was no further outcome - it was a long time to understand what the issue was which became quite expensive. I had Thames Water out the next day and he was able to tell me within 15 minutes (for free).

We’re pleased to hear that our engineer arrived promptly and made every effort to investigate the issue using manual rods and high-pressure jetting equipment. When dealing with blocked drains, our engineers will always attempt clearance methods first, as this is often the quickest and most cost-effective way to resolve the issue.
A CCTV drain survey is typically recommended when the blockage cannot be located or when there are signs of a structural defect within the pipework. This service involves specialist equipment and is normally carried out with the customer’s approval due to the additional cost involved.
Drainage systems can be complex and sometimes faults only become clear after further investigation or when the system is accessed from another part of the network. Utility providers such as Thames Water may also have access to different sections of the drainage network, particularly if the issue relates to shared or public sewer infrastructure.
