Genuinely helpful!! And so quick and convenient

Steer clear of MyCar Tyre and Auto in Belconnen unless you want to get ripped off! I’m a young woman who went in a couple of weeks ago with a flat tyre, just needing it fixed or replaced. I left my car for half an hour, and then got a call saying my tyre was “completely wrecked” from driving just 1.5km (seriously?) and that I needed three new tyres at $280 a tyre! I don’t know tons about cars, but my partner said that price was insane, especially since my other tyres were only a year old and my car had just passed its rego check with no tyre issues mentioned.

It felt like they saw me coming a mile away and tried to pull a fast one, pushing extra tyres I didn’t even ask about. So, I said no thanks, grabbed my car, and went to a small family run tyre shop instead. Guess what? They patched my tyre for free and said it was drivable and totally fine with a minor fix. They also checked my other tyres and confirmed they were good to go. Save your money and skip MyCar, go somewhere honest instead!

Response and fix was quick( although m still to findout how much work has been done). Price was too high though 😧😧

Prompt service with clear communication about what needs to be done and the cost.

They fitted me in for a puncture repair on the spot. Went to them because of previous good experiences and was pleased to see this continuing.

Person who serviced car spilt oil all throughout. Drove away and car was smoking out of engine. Had to return and have car put back on hoist and cleaned, wasting my time.

MyCar Belconnen is my regular car service firm. I'm happy with how they treat me and my car. Recommended.

I loved that the MyCar team were happy to do repairs on my car on the day that I had it booked in for a service as there was quite a list. The price was reasonable and the warranties impressive.

I was a little disappointed that the issue of fixing my car overheating wasn't addressed on the day, nor the fact that it hadn't really been addressed communicated to me. I'd told staff I needed to drive from Canberra to Melbourne to attend a funeral on the Monday and they hadn't relayed the fact that they hadn't replaced/checked the thermostat as requested because they couldn't find an available part on the Saturday. As a result, my car over heated in Yass at 11pm on Monday night when we were returning to Canberra, resulting in it having to be towed and my daughter and I getting home at 4am. My daughter is type 1 diabetic and had we broken down in a remote place, this could have interfered majorly with her blood sugar if it were to go low and endanger her health. Had I known that there was still a risk of the car overheating, I would have hired a car to travel such a long distance instead.

Having said that, the staff were fast, communicative and replace the existing thermostat, only charging for the price of it when the car was delivered to them, after being able to source a new thermostat. I just wish I'd had the relevant information before embarking on our trip.
