Buyer be aware. Not worth the $$$

1st off there is not install instructions when asked for some via the preferred chat method NOTHING. then installed it. Would not power down after truck was off wanting to try and connect all the time. Had to finely turn off my Bluetooth on the phone. Can't get anyone on the phone. Called twice got on the call back and NOTHING. finely got though their text chat and nothing that was offered to fix the issue didn't work. This one unit was defective way to many issues. It only wanted to connect via wifi. According to the text chat that's a no Bluetooth only. Would not connect any other way. Before you buy read the 1 star reviews and defiantly go read the return policy that they have. They make it impossible to get your money back. You won't know it's a bad unit until you put it in. But once you do that not refunds. UPDATE: This response is a bold face lying from them. I have the original receipt from Navtool with the tracking number. I so whish that I could put the receipt on here!

If you are reading reviews from this person, you should understand that this is someone who purchased a used product from a third party, did not purchase directly from us, and has refused support even after multiple attempts to assist.

We cannot issue a refund for a product that was not purchased through our business. When a product is bought secondhand, the original purchase protections and refund policies do not apply. Even though this unit was used, our team still offered support, troubleshooting, and installation assistance.

Multiple support agents attempted to walk through the process and confirmed the unit was working. The customer continued insisting the product did not function but would not complete the steps needed or allow us to finish troubleshooting.

The reset function mentioned is part of the software design. Software reset buttons do not always appear as physical buttons, which is normal for products of this type.

To summarize:
1. The product was purchased used from a third party and not from us.
2. Refunds are only provided for verified direct purchases.
3. Support was provided despite the product being used.
4. The customer refused assistance and did not complete required steps.

The product works, and the issue is not with the unit but with the refusal to follow the support process.

I’ve been really impressed with NavTool. The electronics I ordered arrived quickly and worked perfectly right out of the box. You can tell they test everything before shipping, which gives me peace of mind. It’s also nice to know the products are made in the USA and support American jobs.

I would rate them less if I was able


I would rate them less if I was able to. First, the customer service LIED to me when they said that there was NO wire cutting needed (You do need to cut some wires to get power). Contacted Customer Service to assist, and received the most condescending tone of a rep that you could ever experience. One year later, the unit still does not function, and I am unable to get my money back. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! THERE ARE MANY BETTER/CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES!

I’ve bought from NavTool more than once, and every time the experience has been excellent. Their products are solid, reliable, and exactly as described. Customer service was easy to reach when I had a question, and they made sure I was completely satisfied. Definitely my go-to for electronics.

Great service experience

Purchased a unit earlier this year, video & instructions were easy to follow and I got it working very quickly. However I had an issue with it where the unit wasn't kicking in by itself when I started the car. Tech support helped me out and turns out I had installed slightly the wrong software on the unit. They talked me through that & a couple of other things I could do and now the unit works perfectly. Vey happy with the product & the service

Navtool is absolutely the worst company


Navtool is absolutely the worst company to deal with. Their customer support is terrible. I purchased a unit one year ago and was unable to install it. I hired a company with a great reputation and 40 years of experience to install it. Of course they don’t give you installation instructions. My trouble started when I tried to do the required download. My car had a manual transmission so when I went to install download only an automatic transmission appeared in drop down menu. I contacted customers service and after 45 minutes on phone they instructed me to download automatic transmission program. Then I left car with installer who contacted Navtool for additional information. Navtool responded by asking for an order number and offered no help because it was an older unit. After 6 hours of fiddling with this they gave up. They told me that they recalled dealing with Navtool several years ago and had the same experience. They chose another company for their Apple ~ Android interface because of Navtool customer support department. They are the worst! I should have known better when I initially purchased the unit it took them 3 months to fill the order!

Thank you for your feedback. For the benefit of others reading this, we’d like to explain the full story clearly and respectfully.

This unit was purchased used on eBay, not directly from us. Our products come with lifetime warranty and lifetime tech support for the original owner only, which is standard policy across the industry. Despite this, we still provided full support to this customer. We do this because we genuinely care about the product experience, even when we’re not obligated to help.

We spent time diagnosing the situation and confirmed with the installation shop that the unit was fully working when it left their facility. This shop has many years of experience, and they were very clear the product worked as intended. The issue here is not with the unit or its installation, but with the customer’s expectations.

There seems to be a misunderstanding that having an experienced shop means the product should come with unlimited support, even if it changed hands. The experience of the installer means they know how to install without damaging the vehicle. It does not change the technical support terms or warranty coverage. We are the ones who provide support, and we’ve done that in this case despite it being a secondhand product.

To be clear, once a product is resold, it no longer qualifies for lifetime support or warranty. This is not unique to us. Companies like Apple follow the same structure. In fact, if you search for Apple reviews, you’ll see similar feedback from customers who bought secondhand products and expected full support. Apple charges for every service outside of warranty. We, on the other hand, provided help for free, even without any obligation to do so.

The unit works. The installer confirmed it. We provided hours of support. What we’re seeing is frustration from someone who didn’t buy from us and expects benefits that come only with original ownership. That is not fair to the thousands of customers who buy directly and receive full access to our support and warranty.

We always do our best to help, even in situations where others would simply turn the customer away. We stand by our product, our support, and our integrity. If you’re thinking about purchasing, we strongly recommend buying directly through us or an authorized dealer to receive full coverage and a smooth experience from start to finish.

Navtool customer support is non


Navtool customer support is non existent. I have a unit that isn't functioning a Mechanic installer charging me to put the unit in that is not working properly and neither of us is able to get support. I am a disabled veteran and a retired police officer that has never given a negative review.
Unfortunately this is a first, steer clear of any Navtool products. Don't believe me?? Just call the number and see if either sales or tech support will call you back. I promise you this has been going on for over a week with no help.
Buy foreign because navtool gives Made in the USA a bad name 🥲

NavTool Nightmare

Providing an update to my prior review of this shady non-ethical company and it's practices.

I reported them to the NY District Attorney for basically robbing me of $500 for a defective CarPlay system of which I have numerous emails where they were asking me to cut wires and try different methods of getting their worthless crap to work.

My report to the District Attorney happened after I posted my initial review and realizing they weren't going to honor their replacement or fix policy.

I'm so disgusted with the plethora of lies & deceit from this company that I've simply aborted any resolution.

But I do want to continually warn potential consumers that purchasing from this company is not a good idea b/c they'd be gambling with their money and if they have any issues or general questions or concerns during the installation; it can be a nightmare getting this company to own up to any accountability. The fault will ALWAYS be on the consumer and they rudely convey that.

I'd also strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase to read the negative reviews first. DON'T DISCREDIT the viability of them. Look for similar patterns in the complaints and use your own critical thinking skills.

Not all negative reviews are illegitimate and the negative reviews for this company blatantly show the consistency of the experience.

And if you have already had a bad experience with NavTool, please report it to the Office of the New York State Attorney General. Just google it and go to their complaint form and file it.

They must have multiple complaints filed against this company in order to take the allegations to the next level.

Lastly.... unfortunately as much as I'd like to, I am unable to share any positive experiences with comparable companies, nor provide any alternative vendor recommendations due to TrustPilot policies. But trust me, they're out there.

Where no wire cutting and etc. is required, customer support is responsive and your reports of any potential issues are listened to attentively and acknowledged.

So I did inevitably suggest to find and purchase a CarPlay system elsewhere; where the product is truly plug and play.

And yeah.... there's also that fact for NavTool's unmerited claims and implications towards SO MANY CONSUMERS not being intelligent enough to install their poorly constructed product and/or not reading their sparce constructed manuals with shear lack if not total absence of proper customer support.

No Products Received after 90 Days & No Refund!

It's been almost 90 days since I placed the order and I never received anything. When I complained after 30 days and requested a full refund, I was told everything shipped the day before. Still nothing. Today, their latest response to my complaint that I never received my order, was: "That’s impossible. Everything that you would buy from us would be shipped." BUYER BEWARE! Don't buy anything from these guys.

The customer placed an order that was processed and shipped promptly. According to UPS tracking, the package was delivered to the address provided at checkout. After the customer reported not receiving the package, we reviewed the tracking information, confirmed delivery with UPS, and checked that the product had not been activated. While we rely on third-party carriers like UPS for delivery, we fully understand that on rare occasions packages can get lost, misdelivered, or even stolen after delivery. Even though these situations are often outside of our control, we always do our best to assist our customers and resolve any issues. In this case, we offered to send a brand new replacement unit at no additional cost, despite having proof of delivery. We clearly stated in our last email that we had inventory ready to ship immediately. Unfortunately, the customer never replied to that offer, leaving us unable to move forward with a resolution. The customer’s review does not fully reflect our efforts to resolve the matter. We remain open to assisting if the customer chooses to respond and continue the conversation.

Watch out for these guys

Watch out for these guys. My experience mirrors the other 1 star review I found here. My unit had 3 distinct problems. Customer support was less than helpful, telling me that I was not a professional installer and the problem(s) were not with their unit. Problems: 1) short in the harness. 2) poor reception from microphone 3) distorted audio from only 1 speaker. I sent it back but I had to go thru my CC company to get a refund. Very Sad.

ps the reply made below is even sadder. bought new from the website. i think there may be mental illness in play here.

Thanks for your feedback. For everyone else reading this, here’s what actually happened and how wiring harnesses work so it’s easy to understand:

This customer bought a used, open-box unit from a third party on eBay, not directly from us. That unit was out of warranty and had already changed hands, which means we can’t guarantee its condition. Still, we offered support and tried to help with setup even though it wasn’t our direct sale.

Now, regarding the claim of a “short in the harness”:
That is not how a wiring harness works. A harness is made of separate, fully insulated wires that connect one pin to one pin, like connecting the end of a straw directly to another straw. These wires run from the male plug to the female plug, and each wire has its own coating that keeps it from touching other wires.

A short cannot happen on its own inside the harness. The only way a short appears is if:
1. Someone damages the wires, for example, by pinching or crushing them behind a tight dashboard panel
2. Someone tries to splice, jump, or modify wires without proper insulation
3. The harness is forced into place, or parts are jammed together causing exposed copper to touch

Plug-and-play systems like Apple CarPlay interfaces are designed to be safe and simple. If you just plug it in the way it was made, nothing bad happens. A short means something went wrong, and that doesn’t happen unless someone mishandled the harness.

We understand the customer said the unit was “never used,” but if it was bought used, we have no way to know what happened before it reached them. When you buy secondhand, especially from an unknown seller, you don’t get the same warranty or guaranteed condition that comes with a brand-new unit bought directly from us.

To make sure you’re protected, always buy new from an authorized seller so we can fully support you and make sure your product works as expected.

TOTAL SCAM & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have nothing but scam business practices and when you prove their product doesn't work, they say it is impossible and that you don't know what you're doing calling you a liar. I had a reputable installation business install the unit. IT DIDN'T WORK. So we spent the next 2 days and over 10 hours of time trying to get assistance with the install/issues we were experiencing... NOT because NavTool was helpful, but because it would take sometimes HOURS to hear back from them via text which is the only way they will communicate. If you call in, they force you to leave a number or drop the call and have never called back. These guys blame everything and everyone except their product may have an issue. They are bullies, scammers and incredibly difficult to do business with. Not only will I not do business with them, because of the experience the install company had they will now no longer order or accept their products for install.

Thank you for replying, but this is an example of your lack of customer service and bully tactics. Just because you say, "...The fact that there was an image on the screen proves the product was functioning. The issue you experienced was related to audio setup, and we provided step-by-step guidance on how to properly connect it. Unfortunately, the instructions were not followed, and when we asked follow-up questions to verify what had been done..." shows lack of listening, understanding and desire to resolve the issue. ALL instructions were follow by the professional installer and NO there is no sound. When you say in your responses that instructions were not followed, or that, "...Remote support takes cooperation and accurate feedback. Unlike in-person service, we rely on you to perform certain steps while we guide you through them. That requires patience and a willingness to test things in real-time." that mean you must follow the same rules. ADDITIONALLY, when you say, "When customers get frustrated early in the process and stop cooperating, it becomes nearly impossible to resolve the issue." that just proves again your lack of empathy and understanding. I have now spent over 11 hours desperately trying to get this resolved and I only get text message, pushback and bullying. I have left my number for you guys to call over 7 times spanning two days and HAVE YET TO GET A CALL BACK! There was a gap in the middle of the day where you did not reply for 6 hours while I was at the install shop with a tech trying everything you had sent in the way of directions previously. Don't tell me you are looking for a way to work with me you don't call as you promise and place all blame on the customer. Your business sets the customer up for failure and leaving them holding the bag when if doesn't work with no way to get real resolution.

Your phone transmits audio via Bluetooth independently of HDMI connections. HDMI is a universal standard; your phone only knows it's connected via HDMI but does not know or care what's on the other end. It could be our NavTool unit, a Samsung 65 inch TV, or a handheld HDMI screen, the phone behaves the same way regardless. The phone simply outputs video through HDMI and audio via Bluetooth separately. Our unit has no capability to block or alter Bluetooth audio because it does not interact directly with your phone’s Bluetooth signal.

To help clarify further: if you connected your phone via HDMI to a Samsung 65 inch TV and audio via Bluetooth to a soundbar, the phone would stream video to the TV through HDMI and independently send audio through Bluetooth to the soundbar. This would work seamlessly because HDMI and Bluetooth operate separately from each other. The phone cannot differentiate what's connected via HDMI, as HDMI is designed explicitly to be universally compatible across countless devices.

You mentioned owning a Ford truck. To further troubleshoot your specific issue, please follow this step clearly explained by our customer service representative: First, tune your vehicle's factory radio to FM and make sure audio is playing normally. Then activate the NavTool interface by shifting your truck into reverse. Pay close attention to whether the FM radio audio cuts out or continues playing. If the FM audio stops, this indicates the vehicle’s camera activation may be muting audio unrelated to our product. Our unit does not control or interfere with your factory radio's audio output.

We’ve carefully guided you through troubleshooting and provided detailed explanations. The issue you’re experiencing is unrelated to our product and instead points to a misunderstanding of how HDMI and Bluetooth function. Calling our product a scam or claiming it blocks Bluetooth audio simply ignores these fundamental technical facts.

NavTool PSA Warning [Please Read]

Unethical business practices. Arrogant and rude company that treats the consumers like they're ignorant and can't follow simple instructions. This isn't just a personal opinion, it's a proven track record this company has established and is consistent with every complaint you'll ever find anywhere online.

The only customers who'd might rate them more than 1 or 2 stars likely never required much assistance or support from them (of whom I once was). OR they're seeded and deliberately planted reviews by this company in effort to counter the countless negative experiences many have already reported.

I'd strongly advise to READ THE BBB REVIEWS very carefully. If you do and are clever enough, you'll see that some of the potential good reviews are clearly non-authentic.

Such as those for example; raving of what a stellar company NavTool is & if you need support to contact the poster of the review for assistance.

Simply ask yourself, who really does that? Post a positive review and then extend their personal time & support to get a product that they didn't sell working for someone else who posted a negative review??? I think not.

Only someone acting on behalf of the company would likely do that. Just be extremely cautious b/c these guys are good at what they do when it comes to dishonesty & I've seen it first hand. They're extremely crafty at manipulating the narrative.

Absolute crooks with no moral sense of integrity or respect for their customers. Took my money, treated me as if I was the problem when I reported issues or looking for assistance, after following THEIR instructions. Implying I was lying when I told them my Dealership service department performed "paid" diagnostics to confirm their product was causing electrical issues. Persistent to claim the superiority of their product as any report of a problem was UNTHINKABLE. The audacity

They have totally ignored me when I've consistently pleaded that they do the right thing and simply honor their statements of their "no question asked" returns/repairs/replacement as advertised on their site. I wasn't even asking for a refund, just for them to honor the replacement or repair.

I once ignorantly defended this company against those who presented negative reviews.

I ignored the signs and now I'm the fool for not acknowledging the legitimacy of the numerous negative claims and reviews of those individuals who had already called out this company as bad news.

You can view for yourself how they treat customers who have purchased their products by visiting BBB and perform a search for NavTool.

Review this companies responses given for all the claims against them and it will or should become immediately very clear that you don't want to deal with a company that treats people with such dismissive, degenerative reponses and with such an arrogant attitude.

If you perform due diligence and do the research before committing to any purchase from NavTool, you will spare yourself much humiliation and financial loss.

You could alternatively, purchase their product, toss the dice and "maybe" you'll be up and running without requiring little if any assistance from them. But why even take such a gambled chance?

Save yourself the headache of posting negative reviews on review sites after the fact.... and simply don't support them or they'll continue to get away with unprofessional behavior and criminal acts b/c you will potentially enable them to do so when you buy their products.

The only way to make change unfortunately is to hurt their $$. Otherwise, you're enabling them and they'll continue their bad behavior.

I'm an honest & truthful individual aware that oftentime negative reviews can "sometimes" be folks wrongfully exhorting accusations of businesses to discredit them.

NavTool attempts comparisons using Apple as an example.

However, FACT: check BBB for Apple you'll note that although I'm certain Apple does in fact have some unsatisfied customers; they sustain an overall A+ rating.

On the contrary, FACT: check BBB for NavTool as an outstanding track record of F.

View complaints and you'll note a consistent pattern. View the responses and you'll see the ethics of this company. They are bad news. BE WARNED!! But don't just take my word. Don't rely solely on 5 stars either.

They want YOU to believe their negative reviews are all customers out to get the them or didn't purchase from them. And to add, they've now lied about me in response to cover their misconduct. It's laughable & shameful

Absolute nightmare & no customer service at all

Further update following the vendor's second successive inaccurate and untrue response:

No, I have absolutely NOT once received ANY documentation, other than the one-page wiring diagram (and even that took quite some doing to secure) You keep saying that the installation manual has been sent to me, multiple times. You say that you have sent “
the correct documentation for your specific vehicle, along with additional support resources.” Fine, please advise exactly how and when this was sent. Give dates and times of whatever communication was sent, because I have copies of each and every email (and Live Chat) that I have sent and each and every reply that I have received.

The majority of the replies from NavTool simply either promise that documentation will be sent, or that it has already been sent, but not one single communication actually provides any documentation, other than one email dated 9 Feb 2025, 14:01 GMT, which provided:
1. One hyperlink, sent twice in the same email, which opens a PDF of a one-page wiring diagram.
2. One further hyperlink, also sent twice in this same email, to a video showing operation guide of the settings and menus. This video would be actually helpful in configuring the device once the installation has been complete, but is no help at all in actually completing the installation.
That’s it. No other documentation whatsoever has been received either with the product when shipped or via email or chat or any other method since then. None.

So exactly what installation manual do you have for the product you sold to me and why, if such exists, can you not simply now send it to me?

And if you truly believe that it has been sent then please advise (a) exactly what was sent and (b) exactly how and when it was sent. Nothing other than the one page wiring diagram, and the link to the post installation configuration settings, has been received by me at any time.

If you cared one iota about customer service then rather than repeatedly misstating what has happened here in Trustpilot, someone would actually reach out directly to me to get this resolved. Absent any installation manual and absent any genuine effort from anyone at NavTool to provide that, I can only stand by my assertion that NavTool, at least for vehicles where you have chosen for whatever reason not to produce an installation manual as you previously did, is a sham and a total waste of a not insignificant amount of money for a product that cannot be used because there is NO installation instruction whatsoever provided. None.

You claim that your team ‘has gone above and beyond to assist’ me and yet the only real effort invested seems to be to refute my wholly accurate review on this public forum. Please... contact me directly to offer a proper resolution. Either proper installation manual (as you repeatedly claim has been sent but which has absolutely not been received) or a full refund for a product that, absent installation documentation, cannot be used.

The company spends more time boasting


The company spends more time boasting about how great they are and how many units they sell people, but ignore the actual questions.

When I inquired about help I was given attitude and treated poorly. The device doesn't do exactly what they said it did when I inquired. Of course it's according to them because I'm not an "expert".

I asked for installation instructions when I made the purchase and I was ignored. They will send you old videos that don't show you everything as "How to" or you can pay them to walk you through it?

They specifically ask you to go through Venmo to cover the disputes you give due to bad products. They even threatened me with their legal department.

When I told them my issues they stated that Its because I have no knowledge and hence why I should have paid a professional or that my vehicle is faulty, no way it could be their piece of electronics.

If you simply do a filter for 1 star reviews or use a search engine you will find others with similar complaints.
