Perfect product and quality

As a repeat customer I've always been extremely happy with the quality of fabrics received. Descriptions are accurate on the website and the turnaround is always good and often lightening speed!

This is my favourite online fabric retailer. They have accurate and thorough descriptions of the fabric which is really helpful for choosing when you can’t look and feel in person.
I’ve been a repeat customer since they opened in 2020 and ordered many times and they have never let me down.
I also really like that they list price per meter so there’s no annoying surprises when you add to basket!

There's a great selection of fabric basis, prints and colours and Ive always managed to find what I'm looking for.

The quality is second to none! I've always found them to be the cheapest when comparing the same fabric from other retailers and there's fab offers ontop of the already bargain prices!

If I've need to speak to someone regarding an order the response has always been efficient and helpful.

Speedy dispatch makes for quicker delivery times too.

Buying fabric online is tough as I’ve been burnt in the past, however All my fabrics from here has been amazing quality. Also love her sales as already normally the price are good but when there’s a sale I stock up cz the prices becomes amazing. I honestly don’t think I’ll sew as much as this if it were not for northern monkey makes really glad I found them. I love that every page has the fabric composition and weight of fabric in gsm as it makes buying online easier. I highly recommend this online shop. My go to for fabric

Been buying fabric from Northern monkey makes since 2020. Love the range of fabrics and have used some beautiful prints for clothes for myself, my daughter and gifts for extended family.

Truly beautiful fabrics at very reasonable prices. Always helpful with questions and queries. Postage prices are very reasonable and regularly reviewed. Would highly recommend to anyone else starting or maintaining their fabric habit.

I’ve been using Northern Monkey Makes for a few years now since I first started sewing. A friend recommended them to me for a particular fabric I was looking for and, unless I’m after something specific they don’t do, I don’t use anywhere else.

Items are dispatched really quickly, quite often the same day. Of course it depends what shipping method you choose when you receive it. It’s always been packaged well and the quality is always good too.

There are some fantastic bargains to be had and if you compare prices, they’re usually the cheapest. I have yet to find a same or similar fabric cheaper anywhere else.

So from a retailer point of view, they’re already winning. However what sets them apart from some other companies is the large Facebook community they’ve created. You can use them to find inspiration from other sewers, ask for help with issues with your makes, or help with coordinating fabrics. The owner and admins are really quick to respond and if there are any updates, e.g. shipping times over Christmas, as well as updating the website they’re great at communication.

So if you’re thinking of buying from them, don’t hesitate, and if you’re not thinking of buying from them…..why not? :)

I have been a customer since 2020, and continued to buy fabric from the NMM even when all the local shops reopened, thank to the excellent choice, value for money and speedy delivery.

Sent the wrong fabric their mistake said they would send a returns label and haven't also they stipulate on in their returns policy to contact them for a returns address needless yo say that hasn't been forthcoming either so unable to return and stuck with it. Unsafe retailer now going to report them to mastercard.

I've ordered a few times from Northern Monkey Makes and every single time I received beautiful quality fabric. It was mostl cotton jersey and French Terry so far but also chunky knit fabric and all were wonderful to work with and even after quite a lit use and washess, the makes are still in shape. When I have questions I usually use the Northern Monkey Makes social media page or group to ask and get really quick, friendly answers from the page / group owners and customers.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service, I ordered some fabric and received less than I'd ordered. When I contacted customer service I was told that it was the end of the roll. And even though I sent pictures showing the shortage with a tape measure. I was fobbed off, in an extremely patronising manner.
And I ordered their stretch linen, which still sits in my cupboard. It is without doubt upholstery fabric, not fit for dressmaking.
I certainly won't be shopping there again.

Ordered some fabric and what turned up wasn’t what was described on the website. Heavily marked and unusable unless I dye it myself. The price of the bundle compared to the individual metre price isn’t sufficiently lower to incorporate the added expense to rectify the stains. Emailed customer service and was told I’m stuck with it. Shame about this experience because I’ve ordered before and have been really impressed with the fabric and the very quick service
