I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Onitsuka Tiger’s customer service.

In December, I reached out about a defect in a pair of HMR Peak GTX shoes I purchased (Order OT-FI00001703). The left shoe had a stitching issue that made it painful to wear, while the right shoe was fine. I requested a replacement, explaining that I’ve worn Asics/Onitsuka Tiger shoes for years without issues. I even attached photos to illustrate the problem.

No response for over a month. I searched for alternative contact methods—only to discover their support form was broken and their alternative customer service email didn’t exist (Gmail returned an error saying the inbox wasn’t found).

Since Onitsuka Tiger is owned by Asics, I contacted Asics support. They responded the same day but told me they could not help because Onitsuka Tiger operates separately. With no other options, I raised a dispute with my bank and provided all the details.

Only after three weeks into the dispute did Onitsuka Tiger finally reply, asking what had happened. I explained everything again, and to their credit, they seemed understanding. They sent me a return label, I shipped the defective product back, and I eventually received my refund.

Later, when I tried to purchase a new pair of shoes from the Asics website, my order was blocked. Onitsuka Tiger and Asics are technically one company, and now it seemed like I was blacklisted for filing a dispute.

I contacted Onitsuka Tiger about this, and their response was just as useless as before:

“After reviewing your account, we’re unable to proceed with the transaction. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide further details, but we recommend reaching out to your payment provider.”

No explanation. No solution. Just a vague brush-off.

So, to summarize:
• They ignored my initial request for over a month.
• Their contact options were broken or nonexistent.
• I had to go through my bank dispute process just to get a response.
• After finally getting a refund, they blocked me from purchasing in the future.

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I strongly warn against buying from Onitsuka Tiger unless you’re willing to risk being ignored, struggling to get help, and potentially being banned for simply expecting a quality product.

Recently purchased a pair of Mexico 66 trainers… in my experience I received prompt efficient service and delivery. Top quality product. Super pleased with my purchase. I’m generally a size 7 women (UK) and I ordered a size 7 unisex (UK) and they fit perfectly.

I ordered a pair of runners on a thursday and they arrived the following wednesday. Perfect condition, correct size, no issues whatsoever. Had read the negative reviews a few days after ordering and so emailed this company to enquire, they replied within a day and were very helpful.

I bought a pair of EDR78s. I've bought many Onitsuka Tiger shoes before so was really surprised that the soles had no grip. I wore them out on a cold day, with a very minor frost and was amazed how little grip they had just walking through my town. I genuinely slipped and fell, whilst everyone else was walking about no problem. I contacted Onitsuka Tiger who responded "these are general purpose sneakers, which are not designed for specialised traction. On smooth, wet or frosty surfaces the grip levels may naturally decrease". So essentially a £120 pair or sneakers that I can't wear unless it's warm or dry because the soles are so terrible. Insane!

So bad services. Lucky I give them 1 star should be minus star. Please never order online with them if you really want it just buy in store for stress free. I love Onitsuka Tiger and always have them in my drawer. But now stop using them as their service is so bad and cannot describe how bad they are. I ordered 2 trainers on different date in December 2024 for myself and my son for Christmas but never arrived. Waited and waited until 23rd December 2025 still not arrived. Called customer service and they said some where in depot. Honestly customer service are so bad and useless kept repeating the same sentences every time I called them. OK, Christmas was over and in January 2025 still nothing, trust me I called and emailed many times still useless. My last option is contacted my credit card and suddenly they refund me ASAP.
WHY Onitsuka? this is not the way Japan service culture. The CEO of Onitsuka need to know: Japan's customer service culture is widely recognized for its exceptional level of politeness, attention to detail, and a strong emphasis go above and beyond to anticipate and proactively meet customer needs, often treating customers with utmost respect and care, even to the point of prioritizing their comfort above all else; essentially, "the customer is God" in Japanese business.

I purchased a pair of Mexico 66 trainers on December 30th 2024. I wish I had checked here first. It’s now February 2nd and I have still not received my order. I have complained to customer services to no avail. So disappointing. I assumed that the brand’s own website would be a reliable source. The advertised 3-5 days delivery time is a fiction.

Ils me disent de retourner en boutique sur Bali alors que j’habite en France 😅

Having read the reviews on here I was extremely apprehensive about ordering a pair of trainers for my son but he said, carry on and order them. They arrived relatively quickly and are perfect for him. I paid through Klarna and had no trouble at all. Not sure if problems arise with returns.

We have a previous order and the size is not suitable to create a return authority and I cannot interfere with it and there is no response or attempt to solve the problem from customer service

Bought a pair of shoes. They didn't fit. Cost nearly $60 to return. Not cool. Be very very careful in your choices.

Wish I read the reviews here before ordering, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, period. It’s so hard to get a hold of someone. I’m trying to return my shoes and they’re making it extremely difficult to do so. I think they’re waiting for the return window to expire. Just terrible, terrible service.

About the actual shoes: The sizing is so off, the shoes are uncomfortable, not well made.

I purchased some shoes worth $500 off Onitsuka Tiger online on the 13.12.2024 - they were to be sent express 1-3 business days and guaranteed for Christmas. I have followed up 20.12.2024 received a reply on the 23.12.2024 stating they would be shipped tomorrow, they werent. I followed up on the 24.12.2024 and received a reply on the 27.12.2024 stating they were missed and are now due to be sent on the 30.12.2024. I followed up yesterday the 30.12.2024 and they still havent been sent - I then put a dispute with Afterpay and advised Onitsuka Tiger (Asics customer service) and they have told me okay, we will wait and see what happens with that and wont help me any further. These are $500 shoes and for me they were a Christmas present which I then had to buy someone else as the person lives interstate and now cannot either get the shoes or get a refund. At this point I dont even believe they have them.
If I could give them 0 stars I would.

My husband really like this brand. Most of time we bought at store. This is the first time I ordered online and this is terribale experence.
I made my first order on 09th Dec 2024 for my husband's Xmas gift. And I received email cancel order in the morning 10th Dec 2024. Then I just thought the payment did not successfully. And I made other order in the afternoon 10th Dec 2024. But after that I got another email that said the 1st ordered was shipped. I have called to customer service for cancel the 2nd order. The guys told me ok, but nothing happened, my money still was taken.
Nearly Xmas date, nothing was update from shipper (UPs), I have called and emailed to customer service and only received answer "KEEP TRACKING". Also in this time, the customer service sent me email about my parcel was deliveried at somewhere that is very far from my house. After I checked, I found this is not my orders. But the customer service did not know about this.
Until now 30th Dec 2024, I sent email and asked them I want to refund. But they still asked me "KEEP TRACKING". I was angry and called to them. I asked for deadline, and the answer is "NO DEADLINE" instead of they said delivery will take 3-5 working days.
I don't know why the bigs brand has very bad service and irresponsible to customers.
If anyone want to buy this brand online, my recommend is " DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY"

I have been 4 weeks chasing the refund after I had to pay for returning sneakers back as the size was wrong. Call the line in their website and send me to the chat online. Then Chat with them twice, told me they will fix it soon and still waiting. Worst costumer service. Don't even try to guess the size of it is wrong it will be a pain the the whole return experience

Ordered three different sizes, tried to return the other two in a few days after receiving. The UPS label is invalid, staff at the drop off point aren’t able to scan it. Sent three emails to onitsuka, no reply. A complete disaster! Will have to claim via my credit card provider. Waste of time. Avoid by all means!

Everything is true what they say.. This company used to have great customer service.. Been wearing tigers for over 20years now.. But since there not the same company as asics anymore.. Ordered some tigers 7 days ago! Still not turned up as they UPS who don't reply to you as well.. The customer service is so bad with this company.. They don't reply at all.. I just don't think they care anymore as tigers are now the thing to be wearing as some celebrities have been seen wearing them..

Bought online it's been a week and haven't received. Emailed the company and haven't received any sort of update. Very frustrating

Ive spent £240 for two Onitsuka serrano, NEVER CAME. They refunded me my money though I need to contact them on email. Its better to buy counterfeit ones as they got the same feels looks cheaper and most of all your order will arrive. Ive spent less than £90 for two counterfeits and was highly satisfied for not just bec of its cost but IT ARRIVED.

Put in my order number to start a return after receiving package tonight. It’s says it’s past the time I can request a refund. Faulty return advertisement. Will be disputing.
