Mustafa provided amazing customer service

We used for OptinMonster for a year. Great product, but for our own reasons no longer needed it after the initial year. Forgot about the annual subcription until a month after it was charged, but Mustafa quickly helped out by refunding most of it. Great customer service and so customer friendly. Highly recommended

Quick fix to my mistake!

I had an issue (of my own making) that was going to cost our company a small amount every month. When I noticed my mistake I tried to ask thechatbot AI for help, but that didn't work out. So I started a support ticket and Erica followed up real quick, took care of the issue, and asked if there was anything more she could help with. Nah, nothing more, she was great! Thank you Erica and OptinMonster for the useful product and FANTASTIC support.

Mediocre tool with some outdated UX ideas. Their cancel flow is pure confirmshaming and it’s almost comical.
OptinMonster, your offboarding process causes second-hand embarrassment.

We certainly don't want to be the source of second-hand embarrassment. Our goal with the offboarding process is usually just to make sure users know exactly what features or data they might be losing access to, but it sounds like we might have tipped the scale a little too far into "confirmshaming" territory in your experience. That is definitely not the vibe we want to give off.

We are actively working on modernizing our UX and UI, so I am going to pass your specific comments about the cancel flow directly to our product team. We want the experience to be top-notch from hello to goodbye.

Unauthorized Renewal and Poor Refund Policy - Avoid at All Costs

I am writing this review as a warning to potential customers about OptinMonster's unethical billing practices. As a medical professional and business owner, I have dealt with numerous SaaS providers, but OptinMonster's conduct has been absolutely unacceptable.

What Happened:

OptinMonster automatically renewed my subscription WITHOUT my explicit authorization
When I contacted them immediately for a full refund, they REFUSED to provide complete reimbursement
Their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive of my legitimate concerns
They seem to rely on these "accidental" renewals as a revenue strategy
The Problems:

Predatory Billing: Automatic renewals without clear, prominent notifications
Poor Refund Policy: Refusing full refunds for unauthorized charges
Unresponsive Support: Customer service that protects company interests over customer rights
Lack of Transparency: Billing practices designed to trap customers
Impact on My Business: As a healthcare professional managing multiple business operations, I need reliable partners, not companies that engage in questionable billing practices. This experience has wasted valuable time and resources that should be focused on patient care.

Recommendation: There are many legitimate alternatives in the market (ConvertKit, Mailchimp, etc.) that respect their customers and have transparent billing practices. Save yourself the headache and choose a company that values ethics over predatory revenue tactics.

To OptinMonster Management: Your billing practices damage your reputation and drive away serious business customers. Consider this review a professional feedback on why your current approach is unsustainable.

I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and stress this has caused. I know that running a medical practice requires your full attention, and dealing with billing disputes is the last thing you want to be spending your valuable time on.

I want to assure you that "trapping" customers is never our goal at OptinMonster. We generally use auto-renewal to ensure that our customers' live campaigns—and the leads they are collecting—don't suddenly shut down due to a missed invoice date. That said, we believe in fair billing practices. If you reached out immediately following the renewal, we typically have a refund policy in place to handle these exact situations.

I looked into your case specifically, and I am happy to confirm that we did indeed issue a refund in full for that renewal charge.

Sometimes there is a slight processing time between us sending the funds and your bank posting them, or perhaps there was a miscommunication in the support thread, but please rest assured that we have honored your request. We never want to keep your money if you aren't using the tool, and we certainly don't want you to feel "trapped."

I hope this helps resolve the situation, and we wish you nothing but the best with your practice.

BEWARE!!!!! Autorenewal and price hikes

BEWARE!!!!!

Autorenewal of your subscription is locked in to all accounts. The only way to NOT have autorenewal is to CANCEL your ongoing subscription.

In my case I am on the annual subscription, last year 2024 I paid $260 which I thought was fair for the service. Today they charged me $860 on autorenewal, no alerts or anything to say the price would go up or I was about to be charged.

I have reached out to support and will update if I get a response.

Customer service is an art - and it’s not lost at opt-in Monster

We’ve used Opt-in monster for years. Recently I had a small issue and reached out to the team, they responded quickly and in my opinion went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of. And a world where customer service is a lost art they excel.

Amazing support. I emailed with a query on an embedded piece of code that they could've easily put down to an issue on our end but they did a pacth within a few hours that got it working.

Do not recommend.

It's great if you don't care about specifics like performance or that settings are implemented correctly. This platform is glitchy and untrustworthy. Support is barely there to non-existent.

I have Opt in Monster for the 12 brands I support in marketing. It's a mess. There is no enterprise data view. Data is dropped. Pop ups fire at the wrong time. Validation is impossible because caching apparently keeps old pop up setting live, even in incognito or when the browsing history is reset - suspicious.

I haven't been able to access my reporting dashboard for over a week - their solve? Clear your cookies and close your browser from a different screen. It didn't work. No response after multiple attempts.

Data and trust in the UX are paramount to me. Would not recommend.

- Direct edits to your campaigns should not be affected by caching. When you are managing where campaigns can appear on your site through the WordPress plugin's Output Settings, caching on your own website can prevent those changes from being immediately reflected on the front-end. In that instance, it is important to manually clear your site's caching after modifying the Output Settings and when pausing existing or launching new campaigns.
- We acknowledge the issue you faced with accessing the reporting dashboard, and our team worked diligently to fix it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, complex issues may appear to be "stagnant" even while our team is working hard to get a fix out quickly.
