I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from this company. I placed an order for Yamaha paint and decals for an outboard motor. One week later my order status still says “processing”. After attempting to get through to customer service for an hour (6 calls
no answer) I was told that one of the items was coming directly from the manufacturer and the WHOLE order is held until it arrives. I was never made aware of this and nowhere on their website does it say that the parts I ordered were coming from the manufacturer and that my order would be held. It’s 2026 not 1970
with companies like Amazon who bend over backwards to deliver this company should be out of business in no time. Finally got a hold of customer service and all they wanted to do was blow smoke up my *%#. I now have a boat sitting in dock that can’t be used until this package is received. Steer clear and go elsewhere
this place is terrible!

We understand how disappointing it is to learn about a backorder after placing an order. In some cases, inventory status can change rapidly with manufacturer supply updates, and the item you ordered was unfortunately placed into a backorder status shortly after the order was processed. We do notify customers as soon as we receive that update so they can decide whether to continue waiting or cancel the order.

We also want to clarify that no customer is charged without an order being successfully placed and processed at the time of purchase. The payment is authorized and captured when the order is submitted, which is standard practice for online transactions.

We completely understand your concern and regret any inconvenience this delay has caused. If you would still like assistance, we’re happy to provide the most current ETA or offer alternative in-stock options that may work for your application.

This company false advertises Mercury


This company false advertises Mercury parts to be ordered and sends you Quick silver alternatives. Charge you mercury prices and saves on their end sending 2nd hand parts. What a joke then the customer service sucks to say the least over 35min on the phone with them wanting me to send back the part on my dime and time to get it to UPS. SCAM alert !!! Stay clear of this place, what a joke.

Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for any confusion or frustration regarding your order.

To clarify, Mercury and Quicksilver are both owned by Brunswick and are not “second-hand” or unrelated aftermarket brands. Quicksilver parts are produced and distributed under the same parent company as Mercury Marine. In many cases, Mercury will discontinue a Mercury-branded part number and supersede it to a Quicksilver part number. This is not a substitution made by us or by another dealer — only Mercury has the authority to supersede and replace their part numbers, and that is exactly what occurred in this case.

You did mention that another dealer previously supplied the same Quicksilver replacement, and that is because they are working from the same Mercury supersession system that all authorized dealers use. The original Mercury-branded part was discontinued by Mercury and replaced with the Quicksilver equivalent as the official replacement part.

Mercury and Quicksilver are essentially the same DNA — manufactured on the same production lines, in the same facilities, under the same parent company, and overseen by the same ownership and operational structure. This was not a case of us swapping your order for a cheaper or used alternative. The Quicksilver part is the direct manufacturer-authorized replacement for the discontinued Mercury version.

As previously stated, you are more than welcome to return the item, and we even provided a return label to assist with that process. However, there is no alternate Mercury-branded version available because Mercury itself replaced it with the Quicksilver version.

If you would like additional confirmation, we encourage you to contact Mercury Marine directly, as they can verify the supersession and replacement information tied to the original part number.

DO NOT BUY FROM PARTSVU

Worst experience and customer service I have ever had. Ordered what we thought was a lower unit, but due to poor description- it was the incorrect part. This part was $1900. After finally getting in touch with someone at the company, we ordered the correct part for $4800 and was told to ship back the other part, out of our own money in the same box it arrived in. We submitted pictures of the product prior to shipping it back, paid $200 in shipping costs and had a UPS tracking number. My husband had to reach out to PartsVu because it had been a week or two without hearing anything about our return to find out they stated the part was damaged and we would not be getting a refund. Our options were to pay for shipping back to us and we could sell on our own or place a claim with UPS. UPS advised us it would be difficult to claim this because they did not pack the lower unit- yet we had to use the same supplies that the lower unit came to us in. The part was never even removed from the box once my husband realized it was the wrong part. Now that we have started a claim, PartsVu refuses to communicate with us and the kicker is that the pictures they sent to us shows the damage they are claiming was clearly on the part (obvious in the picture we sent prior to sending said part back to them) when we received the part. My husband being a structural engineer thought the "damage" was a part of the structure. Either way, this is not how you treat customers who have spent almost 5k on products. The part is not damaged to the point of being not useable and I would caution anyone and everyone from ordering from this company because if ANYTHING goes wrong, you are legitimately screwed. Oh, and we were told we have 15 days to figure this out or they are throwing away a $1900 part. Highly unlikely, they will probably resell it.

We are truly sorry for the frustration surrounding this situation. Regarding your order, the part was shipped from PartsVu in perfect condition and documented as such prior to shipment.

We certainly understand that ordering the incorrect part for an outboard can be frustrating. However, we do rely on customers to verify fitment before purchasing, especially for high-value marine components. We also have customer service agents available throughout the week specifically to assist customers with locating the correct parts before ordering. In this case, after the initial incorrect order was placed, one of our agents did assist in locating the correct lower unit for your outboard.

Although the original order was placed incorrectly, we agreed to authorize the return as a courtesy. As part of that process, the return instructions and policy were provided, which clearly state that if an item is lost or damaged during return transit from the customer back to us, the customer is responsible for the claim, as PartsVu did not cause the incorrect purchase or arrange the return shipment.

Unfortunately, the lower casing of the returned unit arrived damaged, including a broken section on the point of the casing. Multiple photos and emails were provided documenting both the condition in which the item left our facility and the condition in which it was returned to us. Because the unit did not return in resellable condition, we could not in good faith send that item to another customer.

We have continued to offer to return the item to you at shipping cost, and that offer remains available.

Again, we are sorry for the frustration involved, but PartsVu did not ship the item damaged, nor did PartsVu cause the damage upon return.

We are always happy to assist customers in the future with locating the correct parts for their outboards, even if you ultimately decide not to shop with us.

Your supply chain is broken you charged our card and ten ordered our parts from a supplier and a forwarding agent and noted delivery would be handled by USPS once the agent moved the parts to an awaiting shipping label a week later. You then failed to honor a request to cancel almost two weeks after the initial order we won't do business with you again

Thank you for your feedback. We do stock thousands of items in our warehouse and ship a significant number of orders directly from inventory every day. However, due to the size of the marine industry catalog and the number of OEM parts available, some items are sourced directly from manufacturer or distributor warehouses when they are not stocked locally.

Your order fell into that category, which is why additional supplier handling and transfer time was involved before USPS received the package. We understand the frustration with the delay and apologize for the inconvenience.

Regarding the cancellation request, by the time it was received the order had already been processed through the supplier fulfillment chain and could no longer be stopped. While we understand your disappointment, the order was already in motion at that stage.

We appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to clarify the process.

I recently ordered from another online boating place to save literally a dollar and regretted it.

Shopping made simple!!

The convenience of getting all of the filters and lubricants in a kit based off the engine type and HP made shopping very easy. Even with my older boat the PartsVu tech was able to tell me which oils and filters I needed.

I would like some one to take the fuel filter for mercury boat 879885Q and see how they do not fit the fuel disconnect fitting's that i returned witch the package states 5/16--I measured those fitting and they are 3/8 is why i returned them and you held back the shipping charges from my refund--the mistake is your packaging. please e-mail back that someone check the fittings

Thank you for reaching out. We did receive the returned parts and your refund has already been processed. While the listing and packaging are correct as described, we have also refunded the shipping charges as a courtesy.

We did review the fittings again and they are exactly as labeled. The sizing referenced is based on the inner diameter measurement, which is standard for these fittings. In reviewing your schematic, Mercury shows two different fitting options for that application, and unfortunately the option purchased was not the correct version for your setup.

We certainly understand the confusion, especially since the outer dimensions can appear different when measured manually, but the product itself is correctly packaged and labeled according to the manufacturer specifications.

We appreciate your feedback and understand the frustration this caused. Please let us know if you would like assistance identifying the correct fitting option for your application and we would be happy to help.
