Sent them my flip 6 in immaculate condition. Immaculate!!! never out of a case, screen protector was still on.
Recieved an email stating the internal screen is not working asking for £150 extra.
Sent a reply to the trade in email, attaching a video and photo evidence of the phone being factory reset and in fully functioning order prior to sending.
Criminals Samsung should be ashamed of themselves. This will be the last Samsung product I ever buy.
Traded in my galaxy flip phone for aâŠ
Traded in my galaxy flip phone for a new galaxy fold. Was told my phone had a Trade-in price of £210 pounds. My phone was perfect no damage whatsoever always been kept in a case and looked after. They sent me a message saying I owe them £150 pound because the phone was damaged saying it was cracked at the hinge and a piece missing. This is a total lie there was nothing wrong with my phone. I Now have seen other people with the same complaint. Disgusting scam. Well I'm not putting up with this. You should be disgusted with yourself SAMSUNG
Wish I read the reviews
Wish I read the reviews, basically they got my old phone in a perfect condition almost for free citing a damage that wasn't there (back lifted). Would rather have donated it but cannot get it back.
Sumsung staff are fraud
Samsung trade-in is fraud. I gave Galaxy fold 4 for trade in. After 2 weeks they started demanding for £150 saying phone is no good. I asked them to return my phone back. They damaged the phone and sent it back. I got before and after pictures. I am surprised Samsung company doesnât trust customers reviews. They support fraudulent.
another_scammed_customer
agree with all the 1-star reviews, my trade in offer was adjusted, cited "liquid damage" despite there being absolutely no liquid damage to my phone. It was in perfect working condition when I sent it in and I managed to sync all my data off my old phone to my new phone. At no point of me owning that phone did it ever incur liquid damage. Just another scam to get more money out of you.
Samsung trade in are worse people thatâŠ
Samsung trade in are worse people that are siting and checking the devices. They are frauds. If ur phone is working they'll email u and say itâs not working just to get more money out of u. Very bad and un professional
Traded in a working s23ultra onlyâŠ
Traded in a working s23ultra only upgraded based on the offer for a working device. I took pictures before sending but not good enough if you do use the trade in take lots of good pictures from all angles and a video of the working device. This has left a bad taste in the mouth about Samsung, this trade in is done with a low value partner that are poor in all departments check out the reviews of MTR group...The photo of my defective device we poor at an angle and the logo was a different colour s23 ultra dark embossed on the photo MTR sent it was white when I quizzed there agent about it she said it was their special cameras that make it appear white!!! Reputation Damage done... loved Samsung what a shame..... I wouldnt mind if it was damaged it just felt all wrong and when I emailed asking for more detailed further photo evidence I was told it wasnt possible... old device then held hostage I was told pay the excess or full discount to get it back....... Not what you would expect from samsung
Extremely poor! Avoid.
Traded my phone and watch in June, only got one parcel bag so sent them together.
To start with they said that the phone had screen burn so I had to pay £70 to cover it.
My experience then got worse... I assumed everything else was fine, heard nothing then at start of October, I received an email asking me to send the watch. I ignored as I assumed was sent in error. Two weeks later I got a email saying I had to pay £70 or they will lock my phone.
I called them and they said they never received that watch even though they sent an email to confirm parcel was received. They told me they had CCTV footage of my package being opened and there was no watch in the parcel. I asked to view the CCTV which they said they cant send to customer and was for internal use only.
I asked to review the footage as a data access request as the watch was still my property at the time and amazingly within an hour, the case was closed and I didn't owe any money. They never confirmed if they had the watch. Definitely trying to get more money out of customer where they can.
Felt scammed
One massive scam.
So i traded in my 23 ultra. No issues with it at all. I even upgraded the postage to cover the phone from their standard insurance. I get an email to say the back cover was lifted. It never has and had zero issues. After research i discover they use a third party.
My mistake was not taking a video to show there was no issue.
I wouldn't recommend this option and it is a shame watchdog doesnt exist as i reckon the third party need looking into.
Headline rate is not as advertised
I traded in a Samsung S23 and had to pay an additional £75 with a phone that was in excellent condition. Feels very misleading and an easy way to mislead customers about the value of their phone.
All good
All good. It took 7 days for the order to be completed. Traded an iPhone 15 pro in good condition. Was quoted a decent amount for it, and that's what I got. I don't usually leave reviews, but it's worth saying in light of all the bad reviews here. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe people only tend to come here when things go wrong. I would recomend people take photos and videos of your device before doing a trade.
Samsungâs trade-in deal is a scam
Samsungâs trade-in deal is a scam.
Initially, they offered me £250 for the trade-in, but once I sent them the phone, they demanded another £50 saying the trade in device was not reached to them on time which in reality they received a day before. I refused to pay and now they are asking that I have not reset the device and not followed the steps and ask me to pay £50. All the steps were followed and device was factory reset. Highly disappointed.Useless company members in the team.
Trade in Scam
I took up the trade in offer of £140 for my s22 buying a S25. My phone was in mint condition always kept in a case. I even returned it in its original box which was mint condition too.
I received an email stating I had Screen burn on my S22 and that I had to pay £100 or have my phone remotely disabled.
I took photos and a video before posting my old phone off.
I replied to the trade in service saying I would not pay £100 (effectively getting £40 for my old phone that was mint)
Awaiting a reply!
Be very careful dealing with this company totally put me off Samsung.
If I could give no stars I would!
If I could give no stars I would!
Took the upgrade deal of paying £100 to trade in my flip5 to flip7. Ticked the good condition box as my phone was excellent condition. They said not to use returns label in new phone box, a return pack would be issued but it never came. I chased this returns pack a week later. Sent off flip5 and next thing I know MTR, samsungs third party trade in said it has a screen bleed as a blob on side on screen (caused by their thumb print is appears!) And want another £150 off me as they now place the phone in the same category as a cracked screen! I paid insurance for 2 years with Samsung also. There was nothing wrong with it when I sent it. I have tried many times to contact Samsung. I get passed from finance to flex to Samsung to trade in centre. Samsung Finance raised a complaint. Heard nothing.im now paying out on 2 phones, one of which I don't have as trade in do! In thr end I emailed via the CEO form and they come back saying the screen has a dead pixel so they stand by the origonal decision and won't reverse that.
So what is the actual issue Samsung? Is it a dead pixel or is it a screen bleed? It's one big scam! If I don't pay they say my credit rating will be affected and will disable my flip7 remotely. Quote frankly they can have the flip7 back but the trade in centre have said they can't guarantee I'll get my actual flip5 back!
Flip 5 to Flip 7 upgrade
Had a Flip 5 the protective screen was bubbling .looked into sending to samsung for a warranty repair still had 6 months .quoted upto 2 weeks for repair .so decided to do the tradein .my thinking was the device was excellent and the screen protector would be done before resale. In short received email saying the returned flip had a dead pixel and need to pay £150.00 .after several emails challenging the payment I was forced to make the payment as they do not cover the warranty repairs in the tradein department .after this experience I won't be in a rush to do this again .
Samsungâs trade-in deal is a scam
Samsungâs trade-in deal is a scam. Initially, they offered me £200 for the trade-in, but once I sent them the phone, they demanded another £100 as an excess fee. Meanwhile, I canât return the phone, and they want to deduct 20%. This is my last time with Samsung â I will never buy anything from them again.
Truly awful experience
Truly awful experience, and looking at other reviews I am not alone.
I decided to upgrade from a 512gb Flip 5 to a Flip 7, I checked the "average wear and tear box" in good conscience and was expecting £231 of value offset against the new purchase. When it was received I was sent an email which said they'd somehow decided that its case is damaged (it isn't in any significant way so far as I can tell, it's just been opened and closed as a Flip phone should be), they demanded £150 and threatened to deactivate my new device.
The tone of this communication REALLY irked me. I've been loyal to Samsung for years, I've had about ten phones and tablets over the years, and this just felt rude. Perhaps if they'd used phrasing like "we understand assessment of phone condition can be subjective, however after careful analysis we are sad to say yours falls below the standard we can remarket to a new buyer", well, I'd still have been disappointed, but I'd not have been nearly as angry.
Anyway, I refunded the whole £231 and asked them to send the old phone back. I'd sent it in in its original box, with the sim key, paperwork, charging cable etc. None of these were sent back. I just got the device alone in a different box. I was now incensed that the Flip 7 had to be returned EXACTLY as it arrived, else I'd have extra money deducted from my refund. I'd already conceded to losing £150 on the new phone because it had been used. Of course it had been used, I wasn't expecting my old phone back when it arrived!
I asked Trade In to return the accessories they'd kept but that was just met with a "accessories are recycled on arrival and can not be returned." I was feeling inclined to return the Flip 7 without any accessories of its own, but it would have cost me.
In the end I decided to keep the Flip 7, it's a terrific phone. The support team in the online shop offered me £50 in vouchers, and they responded to every furious message I sent them, they, to their credit, they seem to be working hard to keep customers happy.
So, in short: The device is fantastic, Samsung Support are doing a decent job, but the Trade-In experience is HORRIBLE. I'd rather try my luck using the mafia than trade in another device with this outfit. I'd consider reading the other reviews and getting another year out of your existing device if I were you.
Don't use this!
I traded in phone which was in good condition with just general wear and tear. I received an email saying that the case was broken and implying that I had knowingly not declared this. I had taken photos of my phone before I sent it off and there was no evidence of the damage they claimed. There evidence was 2 blurred photos. They said it would cost me £150 and if I didn't pay this, they would disable my phone until I did. I would have been better off to sell my phone privately. I complained but got no reply so ended up having to pay as I couldn't be bothered with going through the hassle of sending the new phone back and having to search for and set up another phone. Needless to say I won't be purchasing Samsung products again as a company is only as good as its customer service and my experience of Samsung was terrible
Terrible service
Terrible service. I traded in a flip 5 in excellent condition only to be told that the frame was damaged and I needed to pay an additional amount.
I emailed the company several times (in fact I have lost track how many times) just saying can this be investigated further and can I raise this as an official complaint. Every response just said the phone was broken. Not once did they attempt to investigate (I know this as responses where virtually instant) and they just ignored any mention of an official complaint.
I have dealt with Samsung for several years but this is enough for me to move away from their products. I know they use a third party company (MTR) who seem to be the problem (just look at reviews for MTR as they are really bad as well). Samsung need to find a better partner for this as it is damaging their reputation.
One word of advice, if you have to use this service make sure you video the device from every angle, showing the IMEI number as well on the screen. Also date stamp and show the phone going into the packaging. I am still not sure that would make a difference but at least its some insurance. Better still just don't use the service, I know I won't use it again.
I am happy for Samsung to contact me by phone to discuss how unhappy I am with this (as I couldn't easily find a way to speak to them)
Avoid Trading in with Samsung!
Traded in my S22 Ultra. Mint condition and everything. But I received an email from Samsung trade-in and was told that the back panel was lifted up. I was asked to pay £100 for lowering the value of my trade-in. It was ridiculous. I have a picture of the phone before wrapping and sending it off, but I couldn't really see the side of the back panel. I just paid it off to avoid the headache and stress. Please DO NOT EVER do a trade-in with Samsung! BEWARE OF THIS SCAM! I didn't even ask for my Fold 7 to be replaced because I don't want all the drama with returning, inspecting, waiting, and then being told that my replacement will be delivered, God knows how long.
